Telecommunication networks consist of communication units interconnected physically or by means of protocols in order to provide basic services like data, voice, or image transfers. In this study, a modeling frame for network units and their links in a topological frame is presented based on a real mobile communication network named TASMUS (TAktik Saha MUharebe Sistemi -Tactical Field Combat System). Alarm handling is one of the most critical features required in communication networks. Based on simulated single alarm and multiple (double) alarm scenarios, known powerful alarm estimation approaches, namely the coding method, neural networks, and knowledge-based systems, have been studied to assess their capabilities for identifying multiple faults that might occurs imultaneously in real time. They have also been compared in order to evaluate the performance of alarms under different noise levels for specific TASMUS networks.

Recently, we proposed a three-dimensional cube representation of RNA secondary structure. An efficient method for mutation analysis has been proposed based on the introduced representation. According to the proposed three-dimensional cube representations, we will introduce an extended binary coding method for RNA secondary structure alignment by converting the structure alignment to sequence alignment. The estimation of parameters in the Autobinomial model is an important task for characterizing the content of an image and generating synthetic textures. This paper compares the performance of three estimation methods of the model: coding, maximum pseudo-likelihood and conditional least squares, under textures with different levels of additive contamination, using a feature similarity image index, via Monte Carlo studies. This novel framework quantifies the similarity between the original texture and its texture regenerated by each method. Differences in performance were tested with a Repeated Measures ANOVA model design. Simulation results show that the Conditional Least Squares method is associated with the highest value of the similarity image measure in contaminated textures, while coding and Maximum Pseudo-Likelihood methods have a comparable behavior and there is no clear pattern whether to prefer one over the other. An application for landscape classification using real Landsat images with different spatial resolutions is described.

On the basis of the result of our coding method, we present a 3D graphical representation of DNA sequences. The 3D graphical representation also avoids loss of information accompanying alternative 2D and 3D representation in which the curve standing for DNA overlaps and intersects itself. According to the characters of RNA secondary structure, we introduce a method for RNA secondary structure alignment by changing the structure alignment to sequence alignment based on a binary coding method. Associating with the proposed coding rules and exclusive-OR operation, we can solve the following problems easily: (i) distinguishing the difference between two sequences;(ii) judging the prefix of a sequence matches the suffix of the other sequence;(iii) judging two sequences have common subsequences;(iv) judging a sequence is the subsequence of another sequence.

This paper analyzes the characteristics of flexible flow-shop scheduling problem, using a new coding method and an improved genetic algorithm to solve the problem. This paper solves the problem by using the genetic manipulation and elitism strategy. The experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm is available and effective approach for the FJSP.

On the basis of this representation, we call reduce a RNA secondary structure into three binary digit sequences. We also propose coding rules based on the exclusive-OR operation. Based on an orthogonal set of product states of two three-state particles, a new quantum secret sharing scheme is proposed, which uses a novel distribution strategy so that continuous and independent measurements, rather than particle-wise coordinated ones, are performed. As a result, it is convenient and efficient to implement. The scheme is also secure against several common attacks and gets rid of partial-information leakage due to the revised coding method. Moreover, the quantitative analysis shows that the security can be further improved by using more product states from appropriate multiple sets.
