This paper presents a method to determine the residual error probability and the Hamming-Distance of a coding technique that applies CRC in combination with parity bits. Such a combination can be found in industrial communication where an application specific CRC is embedded in regular fieldbus communication with a parity mechanism. In a typical error detection analysis, usually only the CRC is considered for the determination of the residual error probability or the Hamming-Distance. The effect of the parity bits has not been exploited yet, since no methods for the calculation of the concatenation were at hand. The inclusion of the parity mechanism allows more realistic information about the quality of the error detection.

Cross site scripting (XSS) vulnerability is among the top 10 web application vulnerabilities based on survey by Open Web Applications Security Project of 2013 [9]. The XSS attack occurs when web based application takes input from users through web pages without validating them. An attacker or hacker uses this to insert malicious scripts in web pages through such inputs. So, the scripts can perform malicious actions when a client visits the vulnerable web pages. This study concentrates on various security measures for removal of XSS from web applications (say defensive coding technique) and their issues of defensive technique based on that measures is reported in this paper.

The performance of coded and un-coded mixed single-hop RF links, as well as multihop FSO link systems, for the 5G centralized radio access network, is investigated in this paper using a coherent detection technique. A Generalized Nakagami-m fading channel is chosen for the RF link, and the Gamma-Gamma distribution channel is chosen for the FSO link. Both the RF and FSO links use M-quadrature amplitude modulated orthogonal frequency division multiplexing modulation for the coherent detection scheme. The Meijer-G function is used to calculate outage probability (OP) and average symbol error rate (ASER) for analyzing the performance of coded and un-coded systems. Reed solomon (RS) and bose-chaudhuri-hocquenghem codes are used in the coded system. In relays, the decode and forward method is used. For analysis, the effects of atmospheric turbulence, atmospheric loss, and pointing error are considered. The results show that the coding technique improves the system's performance. When compared to RS codes, BCH codes improve system performance more at low SNR. At high SNR and higher order code-word lengths, RS codes outperforms BCH and un-coded system. A Monte-Carlo simulation is used to validate the analytical results.
