In previous research on ship pipe routing algorithms, the pipe coding methods always express pipes as straight segments. However, in actual design, pipes often need to be bent for space conservation, safety, or other reasons. Representing pipes only as straight segments deviates significantly from reality. Thus, this paper proposes a novel pipe coding method based on grid-free space, which can accurately represent a complete pipe composed of straight segments and bends. Additionally, we introduced Square strategy (SQS) into Differential Evolution strategy (DE) resulting in a novel signal objective hybrid algorithm called SQDE with high computational efficiency and strong global optimization ability. Furthermore, traditional ship pipe optimization focuses solely on the pipe itself, but considering both the pipe and its connected equipment during the optimization process can further improve the design quality of the entire pipe system. Therefore, we propose a novel cooperation optimization strategy based on a three-dimensional environment to enhance the design quality of the entire pipe system. Finally, the feasibility and reliability of the proposed approaches have been demonstrated through three simulation experiments.

High-end ultrasound imaging system always requires high-speed data acquisition and processing system, which often leads to high-cost issues of ultrasound hardware. Fortunately, the compressed sensing theory offers a perspective of reducing the data sampling rate. To obtain better-reconstructed ultrasound imaging quality at a low sampling rate, this paper explores coding technology with compressed sensing and proposes a kind of Orthogonal Sparse Dictionary based on Chirp echo (OSD). The simulation experiments of scattering point targets, cyst phantoms, and geabr_0 data were conducted, and a series of performance index parameters about reconstructed image quality were calculated and analyzed. The simulation results indicate that the image quality reconstructed by the proposed OSD is superior to traditional sparse dictionaries with the same reconstruction algorithm and sampling rate. By applying the proposed OSD, there is no obvious distortion about the image quality at 30% sampling rate. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Data shuffling can improve the statistical performance of distributed machine learning. However, the obstruction of applying data shuffling is the high communication cost. Existing works use coding technology to reduce communication cost. These works assume a master-worker based storage architecture. However, due to the demand for unlimited storage on the master, the master-worker storage architecture is not always practical in common data centers. In this paper, we propose a new coding method for data shuffling in the decentralized storage architecture, which is built on a fat-tree based data center network. The method determines which data samples should be encoded together and from which the encoded package should be sent to minimize the communication cost. We develop a real-world test-bed to evaluate our method. The results show that our method can reduce the transmission time by 6.4% over the state-of-art coding method, and by 27.8% over Unicasting.

With the explosive growth of mobile data demand, the contradiction between rate demand and spectrum shortage has become increasingly prominent. High-frequency communication systems such as millimeter wave and terahertz have gradually entered people/s field of vision, and they have been applied to satellite communications because of their vast bandwidth. The bottleneck of wireless bandwidth and spectrum utilization has become a vital issue for future wireless mobile networks, so terahertz communication has been proposed as an essential part of 5G and future 6G mobile networks. This article mainly investigates the enabling physical layer's critical technologies under the background of terahertz communication, including the recent research and development trend of the high-frequency band and multi-antenna technology and coding technology. Finally, this article points out the challenges and research directions of the terahertz communication network's physical layer technology in the future.

The performance of a partial response maximum likelihood (PRML) system in perpendicular magnetic recording that uses double-layered media perpendicular to the MR head is evaluated. The codes of (1,7) RLL and 16/17 (0,6/6), which are commonly used in modern hard disk equipment, are used as the recording codes. The relationship between the normalized linear density and the desired 4 SNR at the reading point for a bit error rate of 10(-4) is determined from a computer simulation, assuming equalization by a transversal filter, and a comparative study is performed. It is shown that a (1,7) RLL coded PRML system has better performance when the recording density is comparatively low. For high recording density, a 16/17 (0,6/6) coded PRML system has shown better performance. (C) 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
