Research on PDMA communication system based on complete complementary sequence

Pattern division multiple access (PDMA) is a new non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technology. It is proposed to meet the challenge of 5G large-scale connectivity and high-frequency spectral efficiency. Compared with traditional orthogonal multiple access (OMA), PDMA can support more users through the allocation of non-orthogonal resources. Due to perfect aperiodic correlation, complete complementary sequence (CCS) greatly improves the spectrum efficiency of the system. It has been widely used in wireless communication and radar sensing, and it still has research value in 5G. In order to apply the advantages of CCS to NOMA communication system, this paper proposes a system model of CCS spread spectrum coding based on PDMA. CCS is used as spread spectrum code to improve the performance of PDMA communication system. At the same time, on the basis of spread spectrum technology, this paper analyzes the average power allocation algorithm and water-filling power allocation algorithm, and a dynamic power allocation algorithm based on the transmission rate and practical application is proposed. The simulation results show that the system model can effectively improve the performance of the system.

Designing Constant Modulus complete complementary sequence With High Doppler Tolerance for Simultaneous Polarimetric Radar

A pair of waveforms with good auto- and cross-correlation properties is required in simultaneous polarimetric radar. complete complementary sequence (CCS) has ideal range sidelobes along the zero Doppler axis, which is desirable in polarimetric radar. However, CCS is not widely used due to its sensitivity to the Doppler shift. In this letter, a L-BFGS (Limited Memory Broyden Flecher Goldfarb and Shanno) iterative method of constructing CCS with high Doppler tolerance is proposed, by which the range sidelobes can be suppressed in certain Doppler shifts. Numerical results are shown to demonstrate that the sidelobe peak of the designed CCS is about $\text{30}\;\text{dB}$ lower than that of the CCS designed by the state-of-the-art GPTM (Generalized Prouhet-Thue-Morse) method in a certain Doppler shift interval.

The authors study the problem of the orthogonal waveform design for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. complete complementary sequence (CCS) has ideal auto-correlation and cross-correlation properties, which can be utilized in MIMO radar systems to cancel the range sidelobes. A CCS-based approach is proposed for designing MIMO radar waveforms in this paper. Compared to the traditional approaches, this approach can generate MIMO radar waveform with the best multiple pulse compression accumulation results. Simulation examples show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel estimation algorithm is proposed in this paper. A pilot scheme that uses complete complementary sequence (CCS) with complete orthogonality (the sidelobes of the auto-correlation function and cross-correlation function equals zero for all time shifts) was investigated in order to eliminate the mutual interference between multiple antennas. The channel estimation performance under the normalized mean square error sense (NMSE) based on CCS is derived. Results from simulated data, the efficiency and validity of the CCS applied in MIMO channel estimation are proved. The CCS opens up a new direction for channel estimation in the future wireless communication systems. Compared with traditional pilot scheme in the frequency domain, the proposed channel estimation algorithms in the time domain need not matrix inversion which can reduce the computational complexity. In contrast to the complementary pilot mode, CCS-based channel estimation acquired much more flexible configuration in selection of transmitter antenna number. At the same time, compared with the pilot sequence based on m sequence, the channel estimation performance is improved by using the orthogonality of the CCS.

The bit error rate (BER) performance of CDMA system will rapidly deteriorate under the co-channel interferences. To solve the problem, we give a polyphase complete complementary sequence-based direct-sequence code-division multiple access (CC-DS-CDMA) for additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel in this paper. Sets of sequences with complete complementary principle are known because of their ability to achieve excellent correlation properties. Different from the classical CDMA systems, we take the quadri-phase complete complementary sequences (CC-S) for example to do the performance simulation owing to polyphase CC-S are superior to a single sequence in properties. We draw a conclusion that using CC-S as spread spectrum code can suppress noise interference more effectively and greatly reduce the interference among different users in comparison to those conventional pseudorandom(PN) sequence (such as m-sequence, gold-sequence) within lots of simulation.

Novel design of Doppler resilient complete complementary sequence for MIMO radar

complete complementary sequence (CCS) has ideal correlation performance along the zero Doppler axis. However, its correlation property is extremely sensitive to the Doppler shift. In this letter, by employing a sequential quadratic programming (SQP) optimization method, a novel design of the Doppler resilient CCS is presented for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. Compared to the existing methods, this design can reduce the range sidelobes associated with a matrix-valued ambiguity function without restrictions on the waveform number, the pulse number and the waveform length. In addition, the superior orthogonality of CCS can also be achieved. Several numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of this design.

Analysis of MIMO SAR Imaging Algorithm Based on complete complementary sequence and Phase Compensation

The CC-S (complete complementary sequence) is composed of several complementary orthogonal sequences, which is satisfied with the requirement of the orthogonal Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radar signals. Aimed at the difficulty of high sidelobe in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging processing, an approach of depressing sidelobe output based on CC-S in MIMO SAR system was proposed. The model for orthogonal MIMO radar transmitting signals and the corresponding match filter were established in this paper. Equivalent phase compensation theory is used to carry out compensation for signal phase shift. The MIMO SAR imaging algorithm with CC-S was deduced. The simulation results demonstrate that the imaging performance of CC-S employed in orthogonal MIMO radar system is much better than that with traditional Linear Frequency Modulation (Chirp) signal and Barker signal, by which the feasibility and validity of CC-S applied in orthogonal MIMO SAR system are justified.

The MC-DS-CDMA system, OFDM technology is applied in, has some good properties, such as high-speed transmission and restraining multi-path interference. However it has some shortcomings. Lots of resource of frequency is used in this system. Because traditional spreading spectral sequence doesn't have good property of auto-correlation and cross-correlation in the meantime, it leads to multi-access interference. In this paper, a new communication system of MC-DS-CDMA system using modified complementary sequences as spreading spectral sequence will be proposed to solve those problems. Based on the theory of complementary sequences and OND, the concept of dummy chip is led in. According to the algorithm of dummy chips generation, the whole frame data will be processed and becomes the extended frame which is also called modified complementary sequence. The dummy chips in the extended frame become an undisturbed window. When received data is carried on the particular correlating computation of complementary sequence in the undisturbed window, the primitive transmitted data will be restored correctly. The performance of MC-DS-CDMA system based on modified complementary sequence has been analyzed and simulated. The result of simulation proved that this measure is proper and feasible. With the quotation of this technology, the system can efficiently eliminate multi-path interference and decrease multi-access interference to a low level under the condition of using less subcarriers relatively.

Perfect orthogonal waveform scheme used for high-resolution multiple-input multiple-output synthetic aperture radar system

We investigate multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) scheme with an ultra-low side-lobe ratio performance for using complete complementary sequences (CCS) waveform. It is shown that the CCS can be applied in a MIMO SAR system to obtain high resolution in range direction. In addition, the azimuth channel scheme with the multiple subsequences of CCS is also considered. First, we introduce the concept of CCS and establish the transmitter model based on CCS in MIMO SAR system. Then, we propose the corresponding imaging algorithm for employing the CCS to accurately focus the raw data of the MIMO SAR system and derive the range cell migration correction. Considering the signal complexity, we make use of the CCS pairs to analyze the MIMO SAR imaging algorithm. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the validity and feasibility of the proposed MIMO SAR scheme and the potential advantage of CCS. In order to combat multipath interference in Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) system, enhancement technique with spread spectrum method is proposed in this paper. The bit error rate (BER) performance of MIMO system under multipath channel will deteriorate seriously, and the merit of spread spectrum technique is its potential to reduce interference, so we proposed the method that combines spread spectrum communication technique with MIMO system to obtain a better BER performance. Extensive simulations have been conducted and we designed the MIMO system based on conventional pseudo-random (PN) sequence and complete complementary sequence (CC-S), respectively. The results of simulations illustrate obviously that utilizing spread spectrum method as an enhancement technique to eliminate multipath fading interference in MIMO system is a feasible and an effective implementation way.
