This article addresses the multifrequency composite synchronization of four motors within a vibrating system. Multifrequency synchronization is commonly utilized in engineering due to its effectiveness in screening mixed materials of varying shapes and stickiness. The frequency ratio parameter n influences both the efficiency of the screening process and the overall screening results. Although multifrequency self-synchronization motion can be realized, it can only be realized for integer frequency doubling (n = 2 and n = 3), which limits the diversity of material screening types. By introducing the multifrequency controlled synchronization method, the multifrequency synchronization with noninteger frequencies (n = 1.1-1.9) can be realized, which requires much cost on electrical equipment. To solve this problem, the multifrequency composite synchronization method in this article is proposed. The electromechanical coupling dynamics model of the vibration system is constructed by the Lagrange energy equation. Then, the synchronous condition and stability criteria are derived via the multiscale method by combining the speeds with phase differences. A novel fuzzy adaptive sliding model controlling method associated with a master-slave controlling strategy is introduced to realize multifrequency composite synchronization. The results show that speed errors in different frequencies are only 1000% and 3000%, respectively, and the swing response of the vibration system is small. It presents that the vibration system can not only realize the material screening stably and effectively but also reduce the cost of electrical equipment. The proposed method provides a new reference for multifrequency screening equipment.

In the paper, the composite synchronization of four eccentric rotors (ERs) driven by induction motors in a vibration system with a mass-spring rigid base is investigated. composite synchronization is a combination of self-synchronization and controlled synchronization. Based on fully considering the model of the induction motor, an electromechanical coupling model of a four ERs driven vibration system is developed to perform an investigation on the composite synchronization. An adaptive sliding mode control (ASMC) algorithm and the master-slave structure are employed to implement the controlled synchronous motion of two motors. On basis of the controlled synchronization, the self-synchronization is studied by using a modified average perturbation method. The numerical simulation is employed to confirm the feasibility of the composite synchronization method. The effects of structural parameters are discussed. This paper addresses the problem of composite synchronization of three eccentric rotors (ERs) driven by induction motors in a vibrating system. The composite synchronous motion of three ERs is composed of the controlled synchronous motion of two ERs and the self synchronous motion of the third ER. Combining an adaptive sliding mode control (ASMC) algorithm with a modified master-slave control structure, the controllers are designed to implement controlled synchronous motion of two ERs with zero phase difference. Based on Lyapunov stability theorem and Barbalat's lemma, the stability of the designed controllers is verified. On basis of controlled synchronization of two ERs, self synchronization of the third ER is introduced to implement composite synchronous motion of three ERs. The feasibility of the proposed composite synchronization method is analyzed by numerical method. The effects of motor and structure parameters on composite synchronous motion are discussed. Experiments on a vibrating test bench driven by three ERs are operated to validate the effectiveness of the proposed composite synchronization method, including a comparison with self-synchronization method. In the present work, a new dynamical model with a single rigid frame driven by two pairs of vibrators, of which each pair of vibrators is engaged with each other by gear mechanism, is proposed to explore the composite synchronization of the system. The motion differential equations and vibration responses of the system are given first. The theory condition for achieving composite synchronization of the system is obtained, by using the average method to deduce the average torque balance equations of the two pairs of vibrators. According to the Hamilton's theory, the system stability condition is presented, and it is mainly determined by the structural parameters of the system. The synchronous stable regions and stability ability versus the key parameters of the system are qualitatively discussed in numeric, and further quantitatively verified by simulations. It is shown that, in engineering, the reasonable working points of the system, should be selected in the region where the stable phase difference of the two pairs of vibrators is stabilized in the vicinity of zero. Only in this way, can the exciting forces of the two pairs of vibrators be positively superposed, and the linear motion of the system in the vertical direction be realized.

In this paper, a newly composite synchronization scheme is proposed to ensure the straight line vibration form of a linear vibration system driven by four exciters. composite synchronization is a combination of self-synchronization and controlled synchronization. Firstly, controlled synchronization of two pairs of homodromous coupling exciters with zero phase differences is implemented by using the master-slave control structure and the adaptive sliding mode control algorithm. On basis of controlled synchronization, self-synchronization of two coupling exciters rotating in the opposite directions is studied. Based on the perturbation method, the synchronization and stability conditions of composite synchronization are obtained. The theoretical results indicate that composite synchronization of four exciters with zero phase differences can be implemented with different supply frequencies and the straight line vibration form of the linear vibration system also can be obtained. Some simulations are conducted to verify the feasibility of the proposed composite synchronization scheme. The effects of some structural parameters on composite synchronization of four exciters are discussed. Finally, some experiments are operated to validate the effectiveness of the proposed composite synchronization scheme.

Based on this paper, multifrequency composite synchronization of three inductor motors with the method of fixed speed ratio in a vibration system is investigated. The multifrequency composite synchronization consists of self-synchronization and multifrequency controlled synchronization. In the self-synchronization part, motor 1 and motor 2 can implement the self-synchronization motion in the vibration system. In the part of multifrequency controlled synchronization, motor 3 traces motor 1 with the fuzzy PID method based on a modified master-slave controlling strategy. To satisfy the need in engineering, the stable phase difference should be implemented in the vibration system. The feasibility of the theory is analyzed by the numerical simulation and some discussions about the arbitrariness of the multifrequency parameter are listed. And then, based on a vibrating test bench driven by three eccentric motors (ERs), some experiments are given to certify the effectiveness of the proposed method of multifrequency composite synchronization. Meanwhile, a priority in the multifrequency composite synchronization motion is proposed. The self-synchronization is first realized and then the controlled synchronization is. Finally, from the numerical and experiment results, it is inferred that the zero phase difference between motors 1 and motor 2 as well as the multifrequency phase difference between motors 1 and 3 can't be realized in the multifrequency self-synchronization. However, with the fixed frequency ratio method based on the fuzzy PID controlling method, the results above can be realized in the multifrequency composite synchronization.

In this article, the problem of composite synchronization of three induction motors with the circular distributions is studied. composite synchronization consists of self-synchronization and controlled synchronization. Firstly, the mechanical and electrical coupling dynamics model of the vibration system is established, the response of the system is obtained, the differential equation is analyzed by means of small parameter average method, synchronicity conditions and stability criteria for vibrating systems to achieve vibrationally synchronized motion are obtained. Then, the master-slave control strategy and fuzzy PID (proportional-integral-derivative) control method are introduced to realize the part of controlled synchronization in the vibration system. The stability of the control method is verified by Lyapunov criterion. The applicability of this control method and its feasibility for practical applications are proved by numerical simulation and experiment. The study in this paper illustrates the feasibility of designing some new vibratory transporters for industrial transportation.

This paper presents a hierarchical composite synchronization algorithm for parallel discrete-event simulation. The composite approach combines an asynchronous CMB-style channel scanning method with a synchronous window-based method to avoid pathological situations where neither synchronization algorithms would perform optimally. The hierarchical approach addresses the discrepancy in the communication and synchronization cost for shared-memory multiprocessor multi-core machines and for distributed-memory machines. The paper describes a performance model for the hierarchical composite algorithm and proposes a method for predicting the runtime empirically using linear regression. Experiment results show that the model can predict the overall performance of the hierarchical composite algorithm. A significant performance improvement has been observed over different combinations of the traditional asynchronous and synchronous approaches used separately for distributed-memory machines and on shared-memory multiprocessor multicore machines.

Experience and intuition indicate that both synchronization and the mapping of workload to processors has significant impact on overall performance. However, the behavior of parallel simulations is quite complex, and the inter-relationships between workload mapping and the synchronization overheads need mathematical explanation. This paper develops a performance model of a parallel simulation that is synchronized using composite synchronization. We use this model to help explain how mapping decisions and a synchronization tuning parameter impacts synchronization overhead, and hence performance. The observations we make should inform designers of algorithms to map conservatively synchronized parallel simulations to the available computing platform.
