The fermentation process used in making tempe, which involves the fungus Rhizopus oligosporus, often poses a risk of contamination by pathogenic microbes if not carried out properly. In addition, the use of unclean raw materials or less than optimal sanitation conditions can cause tempe to be unsafe for consumption. In addition, environmental factors are also a concern, such as deforestation caused by high demand for soybeans, the main raw material in making tempe, and the negative impact on environmental sustainability that can occur due to waste disposal from the production process. In overcoming these problems, it is important to prioritize hygienic processing practices, develop innovative technologies to monitor and control product quality. One such technology is the semi-automatic tempe fermentation cabinet. This study discussed about computational modeling to analyze heat transfer and humidity in the fermentation process. The simulation results show that in a fermentation time of 30 hours, the temperature inside the cabinet is in the range of 33 - 34 degrees C. Humidity values are in the range of 58 - 66%. The highest temperature is in the heating element blower area at 192.87 deg C.

Accuracy of three-dimensional computational modeling in prediction of the dynamic neo left ventricular outflow tract with transcatheter mitral valve replacement

Background: Transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) offers a valuable treatment option for inoperable patients suffering from a degenerated mitral valve after previous ring annuloplasty. Dynamic obstruction of the left ventricular outflow tract(LVOT) is a procedural risk with detrimental consequences and can be estimated upfront using a multi-slice computed tomography(MSCT) derived 3D computational model(3DCM). This study explored the accuracy of pre-procedural neo-LVOT prediction in TMVR using 3DCMs of multiple cardiac phases. Methods: We obtained both preand post-procedural MSCT scans of a patient who underwent uncomplicated TMVR and derived 3DCMs from each cardiac phase. Virtual implantations of the deployed valve were performed and neo-LVOT dimensions were semi-automatically calculated in the pre-procedural models and matched with the post-procedural models. Predicted and post-procedural neo-LVOTs were compared between 3DCMs. Results: From cardiac phases 20-70%, 11 matched 3DCM pairs were generated. The mean difference between predicted and post-TMVR neo-LVOT area was 3 +/- 23 mm(2). The intra-class correlation coefficient for absolute agreement between predicted and post-procedural neo-LVOT area was 0.86 (95%CI 0.56-0.96, p < 0.001). Conclusion: 3DCMs could accurately predict post-TMVR neo-LVOT dimensions in a patient with a pre-existing mitral annular ring. Prospective research is warranted to demonstrate the accuracy of these models in larger samples and different mitral annular phenotypes. (C) 2021 The Author(s). Published by Elsevier B.V. This paper introduces a computational model for gathering data from diverse sources to improve both group and individual communication by integrating visual and audio inputs, emotional sensitivity metrics, and performance evaluations. The ET model analyzes complex data patterns and draws insights into the emotional response using emotional level tokens. The proposed approach will help organizations develop decision-support software to integrate human-data interaction into business processes, which in turn accelerates decision-making and offers a competitive advantage by using emotional analysis to produce actionable business knowledge.

An electromagnetic model of switched reluctance motor (SRM) is required for design process and its analysis. It is desirable to achieve required specification within limited application constraints. Finite element method (FEM) provides an accurate model at the expense of higher computational cost. Magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC) model is a faster technique and requires less computation, but results are less accurate. This paper presents modeling and performance assessment of a mutually coupled switched reluctance motor (MCSRM) for a 2-wheeler electric vehicle (2W-EV) application using a coupled-hybrid modeling technique. Here, in this work, MEC is utilized for initial sizing of motor as a solver. The MEC model is inclusive of magnetic saturation properties and fringing effects in motor parts, and response is taken with relative motion of rotor to enhance precision of non-linear model. The 2-D finite element analysis (FEA) model is executed, and its response is utilized as a reference to Taguchi's assisted MEC model as an optimizer of SRM structure. Computation analysis of hybrid model is done and compared with conventional parametric FEA model and surrogate-assisted FEA model.

In this study, a research investigation and computational analysis were conducted to examine Multi-Junction Cascade solar cells (MJCSC) through numerical simulation. The solar cell model consists of three sub-cells based on III-V materials: InGaP, GaAs, and Si. Each sub-cell is separated and isolated, containing two terminals, leading to a total of six terminals. Firstly, a design of the Multi-Junction Cascade Solar Cell is provided, with a simplified structure illustrating the arrangement of sub-cells and terminals. Subsequently, the performance of each sub-cell, as well as the main Cascade Solar Cell, was evaluated after calibrating the simulator software with recent experimental results under 1 sun of the standard AM1.5G solar spectrum at 300 K. The performances were subjected to study under three main variations: different sub-cell thickness at the first stage, followed by different sub-cell donor and acceptor dopants concentration. For each variation, the electrical performance parameters including current density, power density, short-circuit current density, open circuit voltage, maximum power density, form factor, and conversion efficiency were extracted. Finally, based on the results obtained, the optimum composition was concluded, along with the highest conversion efficiency.

This research explores the use of quantum machine learning-more specifically, the Quantum Support Vector Machine (QSVM)-to predict emotional reactions triggered in virtual reality (VR) settings. The study's experimental setup involved provoking different emotional states via VR gameplay elements and capturing the physiological signals of participants. These signals were paired with the subjects' self-reported emotions, measured through the Self-Assessment Manikin. The study then employed both conventional Support Vector Machines (SVM) and QSVM to classify the data. Notably, QSVM surpassed the traditional SVM in accurately predicting the levels of arousal and valence, achieving higher precision with a reduced set of features. This enhanced efficiency is likely due to QSVM's superior handling of the intricate patterns in emotional data and the quantum models' more effective computational resource usage. These results hold considerable potential for the field of affective computing within VR environments, indicating the advantageous prospects of quantum machine learning for the domain.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a rapidly occurring disorder that is characterized by the clonal expansion of myeloid progenitors in the bone marrow and the proliferation of immature myeloid cells. Absolute monocyte count (AMC) and absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) have been used in the diagnostic and prognostic predictor of AML. Interestingly, dysregulation of DNA methylation levels is also observed in AML. Data on AML patients were downloaded from the GDC TCGA Acute Myeloid Leukemia (LAML) on *** website. Data exploration andfiltering based on selected genes and racial population groups was performed. DNMT3A, IDH1, IDH2, TET2, FLT3-ITD, NPM1, and WTl are selected as the potential methylation regulation genes in AML with low number of mutation cases. Univariate analysis was done using correlation test while the multivariate analysis was done using a forward step variable selection linear regression model. This study found that the univariate analysis showed a specific methylated gene locations have a role in AML. Moreover, it is also discovered that the highest correlated gene and CpG site for white and non-white populations are different. This study uncovered that monocyte is found to be inversely proportional while the lymphocyte is directly proportional to the methylation level found in certain genes. There may be therapeutic implication from these findings such as the use of demethylating agents.

In this study, the primary stability of two widely used imported dental implants in the Iranian market, referred to here as Implant A and Implant B, was investigated and compared. This comparison was conducted through simulations of each implant insertion process into the bone, followed by pull-out test simulations. Key parameters, such as maximum insertion torque, pull-out strength, implant-bone structure stiffness, and the work done by external stimuli, i.e., forces and torques, during the insertion process were calculated using finite element methods, for each brand. Both insertion and pull-out operations can cause damage within the bone tissue; therefore, this study considered plastic and damage properties, in addition to the elastic properties of the bone tissue. The results showed a good agreement with existing experimental results, as well as with some finite element studies appeared in the literature. It was found that the insertion torque, stiffness, and holding power for Implant A were 48%, $\mathbf{3 1 \%}$, and $\mathbf{2 9 \%}$ higher, respectively, than those of the Implant B. Additionally, it was found that the work required for implantation of Implant A is $41 \%$ lower than that of Implant B. Thus, it can be concluded that, as expected, a lower amount of insertion energy implies less damage production in the bone tissue, so will result in a greater primary stability of the dental implant in terms of pull-out strength and implant-bone structure stiffness.

With the increasing penetration of new energy sources in the power system, it is difficult for traditional methods to effectively characterize the probabilistic nature of the available transfer capability (ATC). This paper proposes a fast calculation method for probabilistic available transfer capability based on deep learning and approximation methods. First, an ATC prediction model based on Bayesian optimized CatBoost(BO-CatBoost) is constructed to quickly obtain the ATC corresponding to the estimated point in the operating scenario, and the shapley additive expIations (SHAP) is used to improve the interpretability and credibility of the model. Then the improved multi-point estimation method (IMPEM) is used to construct the estimated points, and the moment information of the ATC is quickly obtained by combining with the ATC prediction model. Finally, we use the maximum entropy (ME) to fit the probability density function based on the moment information. The performance of the proposed method in different scenarios and its advantages over the traditional methods are verified using a modified IEEE39 node system.

This study presents an advanced computational modeling approach for simulating the longitudinal ultrasonic wave propagation within immersed multilayered media with the primary goal of improving medical imaging. Our analytical model employs the transfer matrix method (TMM) to study the response of ultrasonic waves in the multilayer structure, established in a quadrupole formalism. The modeled ultrasonic response is represented by a spectrogram (SP) to characterize the medium's properties. The geometry and boundary conditions of the structure cause multilayer dispersion, leading to guided wave propagation in the medium. We use TMM to generate dispersion curves and validate agreement with time-frequency methods (spectrogram) for a transducer with a center frequency of 5MHz. The results demonstrate perfect agreement between the modeling results and dispersion curves, highlighting the efficacy of our approach. This innovative methodology holds the potential to significantly enhance the accuracy of predicting the acoustic response of multilayer structures, thus improving medical imaging capabilities.
