For metallurgical studies or routine control of eutectoid steels, it is necessary to perform automatic measurement of pearlitic interlamellar spacing. Various methods, using a combined system of a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and an image analyzer (IA) have been compared and the optimum procedure has been studied. A conversion coefficient from the apparent spacing measured with SEM+IA system to the true spacing has been determined to be 0.9 with a transmission electron microscope observation on thin specimen.

Many various instruments are needed for computer image processing. These instruments are used for image restoration, analysis, etc. This paper presents a novel web laboratory based on MATLAB Builder NE with Web Figure, called imageWeb, to facilitate computer image processing without needed technical information for users. The developed imageWeb provides fundamental principles of imageprocessing, including basic, compression, edge detection, filtering, optimization, and histogram processes, and so on. In addition, the usage of MATLAB Builder NE with MATLAB Web Figure provides high flexibility with visualization means such as zoom, rotate, and 3-dimensional view. Users can easily access imageWeb using only a web browser, without requiring any special programs over the Internet and without time and location restraints.

Relation between the intensity of X-ray signal and the quality of the X-ray image with the energy dispersive X-ray Spectrometry (EDS) was analyzed with the application of statistics. One of effective methods to improve the quality of EDS X-ray image is found to be the application of a smoothing treatment of moving average to the digitized EDS X-ray image using a computer image processing.

This research paper explores the innovative integration of green plant landscape design with advanced computer image processing in cloud, grid, and cluster computing environments to enhance urban air quality purification. The study begins by highlighting the critical need for improving air quality in urban areas, considering the rising levels of pollution and its impact on public health and the environment. The methodology involves the use of sophisticated imageprocessing techniques to analyze various sensors on air quality measures and plant species their effectiveness in air purification, facilitated by the computational power of cloud, grid, and cluster computing. A diverse range of green plants was selected, and their air purification capabilities were assessed through a series of computer-simulated models. These models were developed using complex algorithms to predict the plants' performance in real-world urban settings. The research uniquely combines landscape architecture with technology, emphasizing the role of green spaces in urban areas for environmental sustainability. The results demonstrate that certain plant species are more effective than others in purifying urban air. The study provides a comprehensive ranking of these plants based on their purification capabilities, growth requirements, and suitability for various urban landscapes. The paper concludes by proposing practical guidelines for urban landscape designers and policymakers, recommending the strategic incorporation of specific green plants in urban areas to maximize air purification. Additionally, it highlights the potential of leveraging advanced computing technologies in environmental research and urban planning. This research contributes to the fields of environmental science, urban planning, and computer science by showcasing how multidisciplinary approaches can address pressing environmental issues. It opens avenues for further research in the optimization of urban green spaces using a

computer image processing is a foundation course of computer specialty. Due to the problem of teaching method and students' ability problem, the teaching process is boring and students are absent-minded in class, thus leading to low teaching efficiency of computer image processing and low teaching quality. As well, the learning effect and level cannot meet the requirement of market and society. On this basis, computer image processing was chosen as the teaching case to construct ecological learning space mode meeting the course requirements on the basis of investigative study and under the guidance of interactive theory. Besides, the students of computer major were chosen as the objects of study for one-semester teaching practice. Questionnaire survey and interview were combined for empirical research in order to innovate for teaching mode of computer image processing and provide higher-quality computer talents for the society. The investigation found that the teaching mode is well welcomed by students and greatly improves their learning initiative and learning effect.

Background: Fluorescence diagnostics uses the ability of tissues to fluoresce after exposition to a specific wavelength of light. The change in fluorescence between normal and progression to cancer allows to see early cancer and precancerous lesions often missed by white light. Aim: To improve by computer image processing the sensitivity of fluorescence images obtained during examination of skin, oral cavity, vulva and cervix lesions, during endoscopy, cystoscopy and bronchoscopy using Xillix ONCOLIFE. Methods: Function of image f(x.y):R-2 -> R-3 was transformed from original color space RGB to space in which vector of 46 values refers to every point labeled by defined xy-coordinates-f(xy):R-2 -> R-46. By means of Fisher discriminator vector of attributes of concrete point analalyzed in the image was reduced according to two defined classes defined as pathologic areas (foreground) and healthy areas (background). As a result the highest four fisher's coefficients allowing the greatest separation between points of pathologic (foreground) and healthy (background) areas were chosen. In this way new function f(x,y):R-2 -> R-4 was created in which point x,y corresponds with vector Y, H, a*, C-2. In the second step using Gaussian Mixtures and Expectation-Maximisation appropriate classificator was constructed. This classificator enables determination of probability that the selected pixel of analyzed image is a pathologically changed point (foreground) or healthy one (background). Obtained map of probability distribution was presented by means of pseudocolors. Results: imageprocessing techniques improve the sensitivity, quality and sharpness of original fluorescence images. Conclusion: computer image processing enables better visualization of suspected areas examined by means of fluorescence diagnostics.

As we all known, the physical education and sports training are inseparable from the sports action, and the standardization of action is the key to raise the standard of sports. Meantime, in the scientific training process, the analysis and comparison of technical movements' morphology are essential. And traditional motion analysis technology uses high-speed photography and video image analysis, which cannot accurately determine the action features, therefore cannot meet the needs of quantitative analysis and morphological analysis. In this paper, using the computer image processing and multimedia databases and other computer technology to do quantitative research on sports action characteristics, and establishing the motion feature model, all these will provide a scientific basis and action paradigm for sports teaching and training.

As a traditional handicraft printing and dyeing product of the Han nationality, blue calico has been included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. Blue printed pattern is famous for its blue and white color characteristics. However, due to monotonous and old pattern design, lack of innovation and other factors, blue calico cannot adapt to the contemporary aesthetic habits, resulting in difficulties in inheritance and regeneration. In order to solve this problem, this paper aims at redesigning and activating the blue calico by combining the traditional pattern with the modern graphic design pattern through machine learning and computer image processing technology. With Inception Score and user satisfaction survey as the evaluation metrics, feasibility of computer image processing technology for the reconstruction of intangible cultural heritage image generation is verified. Finally, design value of generated patterns is proved, and a research model of the relationship between computer image processing technology and intangible cultural heritage design is established.
