Traditional data visualization and analysis methods based on network analysis can often only present information from a single source, and cannot fully understand and discover potential patterns and correlations in the data. To solve this problem, a data visualization analysis model of multi-information fusion is proposed, which aims to provide more comprehensive, accurate and insightful data understanding and decision support. data mining techniques are then used to fuse multi-source data to provide a more comprehensive analytical perspective by discovering correlations and patterns between data. In terms of visual design, the model adopts an intuitive and interactive visual interface to display multidimensional data information to users in the form of charts and graphs. A series of experiments were designed and compared with traditional data visualization methods. The results indicate that users can flexibly explore and analyze data through operations such as selecting, filtering, and zooming, and uncover potential correlations and trends. © 2023 IEEE.

Enchanting performance measurement and management with data envelopment analysis: Insights from bibliometric data visualization and analysis

While the breadth of applicative uses of data envelopment analysis (DEA) has increased over time, this non-parametric frontier methodology has proven effective for measuring how efficient decision-making units (DMUs) are. One of its uses is performance measurement in various organizations — from universities and banks to investment funds and entrepreneurial small and medium-sized enterprises. Following a search inquiry in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, we found no bibliometric analysis and keyword co-occurrence network visualization of just the use of DEA for performance management. With this study, we attempt to investigate the DEA literature for performance measurement and management, considering articles in scientific peer-reviewed journals, which are indexed in the Web of Science database. The analysis and visualization of the bibliometric data are based on 89 articles from the start of the century onward. We present the annual trends of published articles, journals, authors, and countries leading the scientific discussion and citation analysis. A detailed keyword visualization analysis was performed and is discussed in this article alongside the paths for future hotspots of the use of DEA for performance management. The findings have implications for both the academic community and practitioners, business leaders, managers, and policy-makers. © 2023 The Author(s)

Industrial datasets and a tool for SISO control loops data visualization and analysis

The demand for high performance in industries increases as competitive pressure grows. This opens opportunities for control loop performance monitoring (CPM) techniques, which have been widely proposed over the last three decades. The large number of techniques is valuable, but it brings problems in selecting the right technique for a given application. Industrial data are not easily available due to confidential reasons. Thus, new techniques are commonly tested in a few examples that cover a limited number of scenarios. Also, the tests are not standardized and are not performed using the same dataset. This complicates the comparison of the techniques. This work shares three datasets with different features found on industries, which go from long-range raw data to selected fragments with adequate sampling time. Also, an open-source tool for SISO data visualization and analysis is provided. This tool allows for easy visualization and testing of new techniques. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Quantitative X-ray scattering and reflectivity measurements of polymer thin films with 2D detectors

We describe a fully open-sourced Python package to process raw X-ray scattering data using a GANESHA SAXSLAB facility, and review in this manuscript the connection of X-ray scattering theories with the open-sourced package. This package affords researchers more flexibility in analyzing and visualizing X-ray scattering and reflectivity data from what is now a commonplace facility at many universities and research laboratories engaged in polymer research. We briefly review the applications of X-ray scattering and diffraction, followed by the scattering theories. A pedagogical introduction to processing X-ray scattering data is provided using the modules in the Python package. We compare conventions to visualize and interpret transmission and grazing-incidence scattering data using self-assembled lamellar morphology of bottlebrush copolymers as an example, then describe how area detectors measure specular and off-specular reflectivity. Examples of in-house reflectivity and grazing incidence scattering for the metrological examination of a grating are provided, where the full pitch and pitch height of a line pattern is measured easily without needing to simulate the full scattering intensity profile.

MeteoExplorer: Visual data analysis software for atmospheric and geoscientists

Over recent years, several visualization tools that offer advanced three-dimensional (3D) rendering techniques, while still showing good performance for large data sets, have been developed. However, how to provide an intuitive way to combine traditional two-dimensional (2D) methods essential in operational weather forecasting and new 3D techniques welcomed in atmospheric research is not fully investigated, if not overlooked, in these tools. The paper presents MeteoExplorer: a software tool designed to analyse and visualize atmospheric and geoscience data. It consists of a developer-orientedcross-platform foundation framework and several applications built upon the framework. The framework is developed with C++ on the central processing unit side and shader languages on the graphics processing unit (GPU) side. Modules in the framework are loosely coupled with minimum interdependencies to facilitate code reuse and improve code efficiency. Compared with other software tools, the framework provides distinctive features, including a unified framework that integrates both 2D and 3D rendering context, comprehensive support of popular data formats and computing platforms, decent rendition qualityviathe export of vector graphics and page layout customization, and interactive composition of synoptic charts. Based on the foundation libraries, the software can develop web, desktop and mobile applications for meteorological purposes. These applications support the analysis and visualization of numerous data set types, as well as the interactive content creation. MeteoExplorer is an exploratory project that provides forecasters with new techniques for climate diagnosis and forecasts.

Research progress in digital pathology: A bibliometric and visual analysis based on Web of Science

Background: The development of whole slide image and deep neural network technologies has contributed to the paradigm shift in diagnostic pathology and has received much attention from researchers, with related publications increasing yearly and "exploding" in recent years. However, few studies have systematically reviewed "digital pathology" using bibliometric tools. In this study, we will use multiple approaches to visualize and analyze "digital pathology" to provide a comprehensive and objective picture of the field's historical evolution and future development. Methods: We use VOSviewer, CiteSpace, Gephi, and R to analyze the authors, institutional and national collaboration networks, keyword co-occurrence, and co-citation analysis to visualize the current status of global digital pathology research. Results: Digital pathology-related research is mainly active in "molecular, biological, and immunology" journal groups, "pharmaceutical, medical, and clinical" journal groups, and "psychology, education, and health" journal groups;in addition to "digital pathology," "diagnosis," "deep learning," "histopathology," and "surgical pathology" are also active research topics;the U.S. has significant research results in digital pathology, with the top 10 publishing institutions all coming from the U.S. In the past two decades, global digital pathology-related research can be divided into two major research areas. One is about system verification and optimization of WSI, and the other is about the application and development of artificial intelligence technology in digital pathology. Among them, based on the development of computer technology and the update of the machine learning concept, the research results for deep neural network technologies have been more concentrated in recent years. Smartphones serve as a technical interface to the outside world. These devices have embedded, on-board sensors (such as accelerometers, WiFi, and GPSes) that can provide valuable information for investigating users' needs and behavioral patterns. Similarly, computers that are embedded in vehicles are capable of collecting valuable sensor data that can be accessed by smartphones through the use of On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) sensors. This paper describes a prototype of a mobile computing platform that provides access to vehicles' sensors by using smartphones and tablets, without compromising these devices' security. data such as speed, engine RPM, fuel consumption, GPS locations, etc. are collected from moving vehicles by using a WiFi On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) sensor, and then backhauled to a remote server for both real-time and offline analysis. We describe the design and implementation details of our platform, for which we developed a library for in-vehicle sensor access and created a non-relational database for scalable backend data storage. We propose that our data collection and visualization tools are useful for analyzing driving behaviors;we also discuss future applications, security, and privacy concerns specific to vehicular networks.

visualization at Supercomputing Centers: The Tale of Little Big Iron and the Three Skinny Guys

Supercomputing centers are unique resources that aim to enable scientific knowledge discovery by employing large computational resources-the 'Big Iron.' Design, acquisition, installation, and management of the Big Iron are carefully planned and monitored. Because these Big Iron systems produce a tsunami of data, it's natural to colocate the visualization and analysis infrastructure. This infrastructure consists of hardware (Little Iron) and staff (Skinny Guys). Our collective experience suggests that design, acquisition, installation, and management of the Little Iron and Skinny Guys doesn't receive the same level of treatment as that of the Big Iron. This article explores the following questions about the Little Iron: How should we size the Little Iron to adequately support visualization and analysis of data coming off the Big Iron? What sort of capabilities must it have? Related questions concern the size of visualization support staff: How big should a visualization program be-that is, how many Skinny Guys should it have? What should the staff do? How much of the visualization should be provided as a support service, and how much should applications scientists be expected to do on their own?
