The calculation subsystems of the power quality intelligent information system will face many types of monitoring data source, and when different data sources provide data for calculation subsystem, it does not need to change algorithm but need to change the way how to get the data needed;then how to make the calculation subsystem does not alter with the change of data provider becomes a necessary demand;Aiming at the problem this paper put forward a set of solutions, which are dependent on dependency-injection, to help the calculation subsystem in multiple data source supporting.

Software testing has been integrated within software development life cycle due to its importance in assuring software quality, software safety, and customers'' satisfaction. However, problems in software testing are prominent among software developers as system grows in size and complexity. dependency injection becomes an appealing solution for developers with its practicality to improve software design, improve testability, and enable mock testing technique. The study aims to discover the extent to which the dependency injection facilitates software design and software testing. In addition, the effect of mock practice on testing is also *** for investigation are defined and measured on various aspects of two systems. The two systems are selected and developed based on the same user requirements, development technologies, and methodologies. By comparing the two systems against the investigated metrics, we aim to reveal whether the dependency injection improve the code design. Then four test suites from both systems are evaluated in relation to *** results demonstrate that the dependency injection does not seem to improve the code design if comparing on the selected metrics. Even though it does not score better, its effect is evident in other software aspects. The testability of the two systems is similar and suffers from the same problem. Meanwhile, mock helps assist software testing and improve testability. The effect of mock technique can be witnessed, especially when it is applied with other test techniques. Explanations and discussions on these findings are addressed in the paper

A common practice within object-oriented software is using composition to realize complex object behavior in a reusable way. Such compositions can be managed by dependency injection (DI), a popular technique in which components only depend on minimal interfaces and have their concrete dependencies passed into them. Instead of requiring program code, this separation enables describing the desired instantiations in declarative configuration files, such that objects can be wired together automatically at runtime. Configurations for existing DI frameworks typically only have local semantics, which limits their usage in other contexts. Yet some cases require configurations outside of their local scope, such as for the reproducibility of experiments, static program analysis, and semantic workflows. As such, there is a need for globally interoperable, addressable, and discoverable configurations, which can be achieved by leveraging Linked Data. We created *** as an opensource semantic DI framework for TypeScript and JavaScript applications, providing global semantics via Linked Data-based configuration files. In this article, we report on the *** framework by explaining its architecture and configuration, and discuss its impact by mentioning where and how applications use it. We show that *** is a stable framework that has seen significant uptake during the last couple of years. We recommend it for software projects that require high flexibility, configuration without code changes, sharing configurations with others, or applying these configurations in other contexts such as experimentation or static program analysis. We anticipate that *** will continue driving concrete research and development projects that require high degrees of customization to facilitate experimentation and testing, including the Comunica query engine and the Community Solid Server for decentralized data publication.

The continuing evolution of business needs and technology makes Web applications more demanding in terms of development, usability and interactivity of their user interfaces. The complexity and diversity of these applications emerges the need of flexibility and combining operations with existing models to create other new, more complex models. As more complex models are used, the importance of transformations between models grows. This paper presents the application of the MDA (Model Driven Architecture) to generate, from the UML model, the code following the MVP (Model-View-Presenter), DI (dependency injection) and DAO (Data Access Object) patterns for a RIA (Rich Internet Application) using the standard MOF 2.0 QVT (Meta-Object Facility 2.0 Query-View-Transformation) as a transformation language. We adopt GWT (Google web Toolkit), Spring and Hibernate as a Frameworks for creating a target meta-model to generate an entire GWT-based N-tiers web application. That is why we have developed two meta-models handling UML class diagrams and N-tiers Web applications, then we have to set up transformation rules. The transformation rules defined in this paper can generate, from the class diagram, an XML file containing the Presentation, the Business, and the Data Access package. This file can be used to generate the necessary code of a RIA N-tiers web application.

Paper deals with the design issues of an e-Learning Computational System based on a Task Management Model. One of the main components of the proposed e-Learning Computational Cloud is the Controller acting as an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) for absolute Model abstraction from outside references. Simultaneously, View is completely decoupled from Model and ultimate privacy and security is achieved for the business data objects. This ESB bolstered with the dependency injection Pattern has reinforced protocol and message transformation, service loose coupling, global service contract, service implementation autonomy, service reusability, service modularity, statelessness and dynamic discoverability of the services. The ESB uses service virtualization that archives the services together as a single deployable unit which is managed by the Orchestration Engine as a central console. This allows the user to customize e-Learning Platforms by sourcing a diverse range of e-Learning services.

Regression test selection (RTS) aims to reduce regression testing effort by selecting only those tests that are affected by introduced changes. RTS techniques are considered to be safe if they select all affected test cases. Several supposedly safe RTS tools have been developed over the past decades, lately especially for Java projects. However, recent studies have shown that state-of-the-art RTS tools for Java can become unsafe when confronted with dependency injection (DI) mechanisms: despite the widespread use of DI frameworks in Java projects, no existing technique acknowledges DI-related changes. In this paper, we analyze the reasons behind unsafe RTS behavior for DI-related changes and develop DIRTS, a novel DI-aware RTS tool for Java. To counteract effects of DI on RTS, DIRTS efficiently analyzes source code annotations and metadata employed by popular DI frameworks, and generates a dependency graph including edges for dynamically injected objects. We evaluate DIRTS on 228 commits from 9 open-source Java projects that use DI. Our results indicate that in 33.3% of those commits DI-related changes affect some tests, and in 3.1% (7) DIRTS identifies affected tests that are clearly missed by the static RTS tool STARTS. Still, DIRTS is comparatively efficient and precise. We publish DIRTS1,2 as an RTS tool that can either be used as a safety extension for existing RTS tools or as a standalone RTS solution.

[Context] dependency injection (DI) is a commonly applied mechanism to decouple classes from their dependencies in order to provide better modularization of software. In the context of Java, the availability of a DI specification and popular frameworks, such as Spring, facilitate DI usage in software projects. However, bad DI implementation practices can have negative consequences, such as increasing coupling. Even though the literature suggests the existence of DI anti-patterns, there is no detailed catalog of such bad practices. Moreover, there is no evidence on their occurrence and perceived usefulness from the developer's point of view. [Goal] Our goal is to review the reported DI anti-patterns in order to analyze their completeness and to propose and evaluate a novel catalog of DI anti-patterns in the context of Java. [Method] We propose an initial catalog containing twelve Java DI anti-patterns. We selected four open source software projects that adopt a DI framework and developed a tool to statically analyze the occurrence of the DI anti-patterns within their source code. Also, we conducted a survey through face to face interviews with three experienced developers that regularly apply DI. [Results] At least nine different DI anti-patterns appeared in each analyzed project. In addition, the feedback received from the developers confirmed their relevance and the importance of investing further effort towards a catalog. [Conclusion] The results indicate that the initial catalog contains Java DI anti-patterns that occur in practice and are useful. Sharing it with practitioners may help them to avoid such anti-patterns. Sharing it with the research community will enable further improving the catalog.

An advanced IT programming course has been enhanced with app development in the context of Android. To properly carry out such development, it is essential to master data communication among activities, the fundamental app functional units. One important element of such communication is the singleton design pattern (singleton). A dependency-injection framework called Hilt is presented as the implementation vehicle for singletons. Examples of Hilt's usage are presented, and consolidated details for incorporating the Hilt framework into an app are given. Overall, the use of dependency injection enhances students programming experiences and complements the object-oriented design component of the course. The students get exposure to additional advanced features of Java, such as annotations.

Service-Oriented Computing (SOC) has been broadly conceived as the next big thing in distributed software development. The software industry has embraced SOC through Web Services functionality that is accessible via ubiquitous protocols such as HTTP-. This technology provides the basis for reuse and interoperability of applications across the WWW. However, consuming Web Services is still an expensive task in terms of development costs, since developers still have to invest much effort not only into manually, discovering services, but also on providing code to invoke them, which leads to software that is polluted with service-aware code and therefore is more difficult to modify and test. Recently, a technique that has become very popular for building software is dependency injection (DI), which allows applications to be far more testable and maintainable. In this paper, we quantitatively analyze some of the benefits and costs of DI for building Web Service applications. We base our experiments on a refined version of DI that combines text-mining, machine learning, and best practices from component-based software development to simplify the way Web Services are discovered and consumed. To our knowledge, this is the first study on the impacts of using DI in the context of SOC.
