Numerical Simulation for Wind Shear detection With a Glide Path Scanning algorithm Based on Wind LiDAR

To study the performance of the glide path scan wind shear alerting algorithm (GLYGA) for wind shear detection with wind LiDAR sensors, this paper constructed two types of simulated wind fields for wind shear detection experiments based on a MATLAB toolbox: uniform wind field and shear wind field. The uniform wind field is used to study the influence of the relative position between the wind LiDAR system and the glide path on the wind detection results;the shear wind field is used to study the effectiveness of the GLYGA. The shear wind field consists of four types: frontal, downburst, low-level jet and turbulence. The results show that both the distance from the wind LiDAR system to the runway and the angle between the laser beam and the glide path should be minimized to ensure better wind detection results while avoiding the scenario in which the laser beam runs perpendicular to the glide path;otherwise, the wind speed measured by LiDAR is 0, which will introduce great error. At the same time, the GLYGA can adequately identify the position and intensity of wind shear along the glide path of aircraft.

The CS algorithm: A novel method for high frequency oscillation detection in EEG

Background: High frequency oscillations (HFOs) are emerging as potentially clinically important biomarkers for localizing seizure generating regions in epileptic brain. These events, however, are too frequent, and occur on too small a time scale to be identified quickly or reliably by human reviewers. Many of the deficiencies of the HFO detection algorithms published to date are addressed by the CS algorithm presented here. New Method: The algorithm employs novel methods for: 1) normalization;2) storage of parameters to model human expertise;3) differentiating highly localized oscillations from filtering phenomena;and 4) defining temporal extents of detected events. Results: Receiver-operator characteristic curves demonstrate very low false positive rates with concomitantly high true positive rates over a large range of detector thresholds. The temporal resolution is shown to be +/-similar to 5 ms for event boundaries. Computational efficiency is sufficient for use in a clinical setting. Comparison with existing methods: The algorithm performance is directly compared to two established algorithms by Staba (2002) and Gardner (2007). Comparison with all published algorithms is beyond the scope of this work, but the features of all are discussed. All code and example data sets are freely available. Conclusions: The algorithm is shown to have high sensitivity and specificity for HFOs, be robust to common forms of artifact in EEG, and have performance adequate for use in a clinical setting. On Anti-Collusion Codes and detection algorithms for Multimedia Fingerprinting

Multimedia fingerprinting is an effective technique to trace the sources of pirate copies of copyrighted multimedia information. AND anti-collusion codes can be used to construct fingerprints resistant to collusion attacks on multimedia contents. In this paper, we first investigate AND anti-collusion codes and related detection algorithms from a combinatorial viewpoint, and then introduce a new concept of logical anti-collusion code to improve the traceability of multimedia fingerprinting. It reveals that frameproof codes have traceability for multimedia contents. Relationships among anti-collusion codes and other structures related to fingerprinting are discussed, and constructions for both AND anti-collusion codes and logical anti-collusion codes are provided.

Electrogram configuration and detection of supraventricular tachycardias by a morphology discrimination algorithm in single chamber ICDs

Background: Inappropriate ICD therapy for supraventricular tachycordia (SVT) remains a significant problem. A morphology-based algorithm (Wavelet (TM)) compares baseline and tachycardia electrograms (EGM). For this analysis different EGM sources can be programmed. This study evaluates the performance of Wavelet using two different EGM configurations (SVC-Con and RV-Can) for the detection of exercise-induced SVT Methods: Patients with a Medtronic model 7230 single chamber ICD and a dual coil lead were included. For each EGM source (SVC-Con or RV-Can), a baseline EGM template was acquired and the morphology similarity to this template (match percentage) was evaluated for 10-15 beats at different heart rates during exercise testing. The lower VT detection limit was programmed to 600 ms (therapies off). Results: A total of 28 patients (66.9 +/- 4.7 years, 93% men) and 5,824 intracardiac QRS complexes were analyzed. With the RV-Can source, a consistently high similarity to the baseline EGM template was observed (<= 100 bpm: 90.90 +/- 0.56%;> 100 bpm: 90.24 +/- 0.55%, P > 0.05). In contrast, SVC-Can was associated with a lower match percentage at baseline and a significant decrease at higher heart rates(<= 100 bpm: 77.91 +/- 2.65%;> 100 bpm: 59.05 +/- 5.65%, P < 0.005). Accordingly, the specificity for appropriate detection of exercise-induced SVT was higher with RV-Can (21/21 episodes) than with SVC-Can (8/18 episodes, specificity 100% vs 44%;P < 0.0001). Conclusion: The RV-Can configuration appears to be superior to SVC-Can as EGM source for appropriate SVT detection with the Wavelet algorithm.

Plasma depletions (or bubbles) are strong reductions in the ionospheric F-region plasma density due to the appearance of a Rayleigh-Taylor instability in the post-sunset, producing severe radio signal disruptions when crossing them. Most of the plasma depletions are confined on the Appleton Anomaly region, which also shows the presence of strong scintillations activity. Therefore, stations located in the vicinity of the geomagnetic equator are expected to be frequently affected by the presence of plasma depletions. This paper provides a comparison between the plasma depletion detection results achieved using two algorithms: one developed by the National Institute for Aerospace Technology and the University Complutense of Madrid and one developed by GMV. Six equatorial stations distributed all over the world and different solar activity and seasonal conditions have been selected to analyze the algorithms' response to different plasma depletions characteristics. A regional behavior analysis of the plasma depletion occurrence and characteristics is also provided. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

In order to accurately perform object detection by deep convolutional neural networks (DCNN) in videos, obtained from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), many example images of objects containing annotations such as ground truth class information, bounding box, optical flow, occlusion and segmentation are required. Due to the difficulties faced during annotation of scenarios, and due to the inadequacy of the scenario diversity resulting from environmental conditions, a dataset containing above mentioned ground truths has not been found in the literature. In this study, synthetic aerial images with various annotation information were created in different scenarios while composing virtual worlds, and enhancing object detection algorithms is aimed. Enhancement of detection results of DCNN based object detection algorithms, trained with the support of synthetic aerial images, on real-world aerial images significantly, was observed during the experiments, conducted.

In this paper a joint algorithm was designed to detect a variety of unauthorized access risks in multilevel hybrid cloud. Firstly historical visit were recorded among different virtual machines in multilevel hybrid cloud by use of the global flow diagram. Secondly with the global flow graph as auxiliary decision-making basis to design legitimacy detection algorithm based data access and carried on the formal representation, Finally the implement process was specified the algorithm can effectively detect operating against regulations such as simple unauthorized level across and beyond indirect unauthorized and other irregularities.

Massive multi-input multi-output (MIMO) technology is one of the most promising concepts in 5G wireless system. Grounded on the fact that the channel matrix in massive MIMO system is large dimensional, classical MIMO detection algorithms are not appropriate for large scaled antennas. In this paper, a low-complexity discrete gbest-guided artificial bee colony (DGABC) detection algorithm is proposed for massive MIMO uplink, chaotic maps for parameter adaptation is also proposed in order to improve the convergence characteristic of the DGABC algorithm and to prevent the algorithm from getting stuck in local solutions. Experiments show that the proposed DGABC detection algorithm outperforms both the original ABC algorithm and MMSE detection with a relatively low complexity.

Aiming at the problem of abnormal location often occurring in traditional weak coverage area detection algorithm of intelligent network, a detection algorithm of weak coverage area in intelligent network based on large data is proposed. Firstly, the detection data is collected by data acquisition method based on local characteristics, and then the gray level conversion of these detection data is used to realize the pre-processing of the detection data and the detection after pre-processing. The feature vectors are used to describe the feature points so as to realize the accelerated feature matching of the detected data. Then the region feature detection of the detected data is carried out, and finally the weak coverage area detection algorithm of the intelligent network based on large data is realized. Experiments verify the detection performance of the weak coverage area detection algorithm based on large data in intelligent networks, and draw a conclusion that the detection algorithm based on large data has a much smaller probability of abnormal location than the traditional weak coverage area detection algorithm in intelligent networks.
