Semi supervised inspection algorithm of automatic packaging curve based on deep learning

The current automatic packaging process is complex, requires high professional knowledge, poor universality, and difficult to apply in multi-objective and complex background. In view of this problem, automatic packaging optimization algorithm has been widely paid attention to. However, the traditional automatic packaging detection accuracy is low, the practicability is poor. Therefore, a semi-supervised detection method of automatic packaging curve based on deep learning and semi-supervised learning is proposed. Deep learning is used to extract features and posterior probability to classify unlabeled data. KDD CUP99 data set was used to verify the accuracy of the algorithm. Experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the performance of automatic packaging curve semi-supervised detection system.

Method for detecting all-zero DCT coefficients ahead of discrete cosine transformation and quantisation

The authors present a new algorithm for detecting all-zero DCT coefficient blocks before discrete cosine transformation and quantisation in very low bit rate video coding. The proposed algorithm uses the sum of absolute difference (SAD) of each motion compensation block as the criteria. Because the SAD can be obtained after motion estimation, no additional computation is required. Results show that the proposed algorithm can be used to reduce the amount of computation significantly without sacrificing video coding quality.

A new classification algorithm for discrimination of ventricular from supraventricular tachycardia in a dual chamber implantable cardioverter defibrillator

New Atrioventricular Classification algorithm. Introduction: The high incidence of inappropriate therapies due to supraventricular tachycardia remains a major unsolved problem of implantable cardioverter defibrillators. We report a new detection formula for discrimination of ventricular tachycardia from supraventricular tachycardia in a patient with a dual chamber implantable cardioverter defibrillator and a new atrioventricular classification algorithm. Methods and Results: The enhanced detection algorithm performs a stepwise arrhythmia analysis, The rhythm is first classified on the basis of cycle length, Each episode is then classified as supraventricular or ventricular on the basis of atrioventricular association, stability of circle length, and origin of acceleration, Sophisticated diagnostic information is provided by atrioventricular markers and electrogram recordings. Successful discrimination of two spontaneous episodes of ventricular tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardia is demonstrated. Conclusion: This new dual chamber detection algorithm may significantly improve the specificity of tachyarrhythmia detection without sacrificing sensitivity, thereby reducing the number of spurious shocks in patients with recurrent supraventricular tachycardias. Further studies are needed to assess the sensitivity and specificity of this detection algorithm.

Multigrid contact detection method

Contact detection is a general problem of many physical simulations. This work presents a O(N) multigrid method for general contact detection problems (MGCD). The multigrid idea is integrated with contact detection problems. Both the time complexity and memory consumption of the MGCD are O(N). Unlike other methods, whose efficiencies are influenced strongly by the object size distribution, the performance of MGCD is insensitive to the object size distribution. We compare the MGCD with the no binary search (NBS) method and the multilevel boxing method in three dimensions for both time complexity and memory consumption. For objects with similar size, the MGCD is as good as the NBS method, both of which outperform the multilevel boxing method regarding memory consumption. For objects with diverse size, the MGCD outperform both the NBS method and the multilevel boxing method. We use the MGCD to solve the contact detection problem for a granular simulation system based on the discrete element method. From this granular simulation, we get the density property of monosize packing and binary packing with size ratio equal to 10. The packing density for monosize particles is 0.636. For binary packing with size ratio equal to 10, when the number of small particles is 300 times as the number of big particles, the maximal packing density 0.824 is achieved.

This paper presents a new algorithm for the detection of ferroresonance oscillations in medium voltage (MV) power systems. The proposed method is based on an analysis of estimated flux resulting from the voltage in open delta voltage transformer (VT) connection. The testing results proved that the new solution is capable of identifying quickly and reliably ferroresonance oscillations and it does not maloperate during faults. In addition, this method is simple for hardware implementation. The developed solution has been thoroughly tested on simulation runs (from the MATLAB2019b/Simulink program), as well as recorded signals.

This paper describes the current progress in the development of a Detect And Avoid (DAA) system for application to Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). Indeed, it is widely recognized that the full exploitation of RPAS, as first step toward an autonomous aircraft, is strictly dependent on the development of a DAA system that performs as safe as an on-board pilot can. In this paper, a specific module of the CIRA full DAA system is described, namely, the component that generates an alert condition for remote pilot or other automatic system intervention. Furthermore, the verification and validation approach and related results are discussed. © 2018

Dual Chamber vs Single Chamber Cardioverter Defibrillators. Introduction: Supraventricular tachyarrhythmias are the main cause of inappropriate therapies in patients with conventional single chamber implantable cardioverter defibrillators (VVI-ICD). It was anticipated that dual chamber cardioverter defibrillators (DDD-ICD), with their capacity to analyze atrial and ventricular rhythm, could substantially reduce inappropriate therapies. Methods and Results: Our prospective study included 92 patients (87 men;mean age 61 +/- 12.7 years) who were randomly assigned to a VVI-ICD (45 patients) or a DDD-ICD (47 patients). Both groups were followed for 7.5 +/- 3.5 and 7.6 +/- 4.1 months, respectively, During the follow-up period, overall 725 ventricular tachycardia (VT)/ventricular fibrillation (VF) episodes were recorded in 45 (49%) of 92 patients. Of these episodes, 404 (56%) occurred in the VVI-ICD group and 321 (44%) episodes occurred in the DDD-ICD group. Twenty-three (51%) patients in the VVI-ICD group and 22 (47%) patients in the DDD-ICD group (P = 0.8) developed VT/VF, Overall, 73 (10%) of 725 treated episodes were inappropriate in 6 (13%) patients in the VVI group and in 10 (21%) patients in the DDD-ICD group (P = 0.2), There were 22 (31%) inappropriately treated episodes in the VVI-ICD group and 51 (69%) in the DDD-ICD group. Thirty-two of the 51 inappropriate episodes in the DDD-ICD patients resulted from intermittent atrial sensing problems that led to failure of the respective dual chamber algorithms. Nonfatal complications occurred in 6 (13%) patients in the VVI-ICD group and in 3 (6%) patients in the DDD-ICD group (P = 07). Conclusions: We conclude that the implanted DDD-ICD and conventional VVI-ICD are equally safe and effective for therapy of life-threatening ventricular tachyarrhythmias, Although DDD-ICDs allow better rhythm classification, the applied detection algorithms do not offer benefits in avoiding inappropriate therapies during supraventricular tac

Safety of the Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator (WCD) in Patients with Implanted Pacemakers

Background: The wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) is an important approach for better risk stratification, applied to patients considered to be at high risk of sudden arrhythmic death. Patients with implanted pacemakers may also become candidates for use of the WCD. However, there is a potential risk that pacemaker signals may mislead the WCD detection algorithm and cause inappropriate WCD shock delivery. The aim of the study was to test the impact of different types of pacing, various right ventricular (RV) lead positions, and pacing modes for potential misleading of the WCD detection algorithm. Methods: Sixty patients with implanted pacemakers received the WCD for a short time and each pacing mode (AAI, VVI, and DDD) was tested for at least 30 seconds in unipolar and bipolar pacing configuration. In case of triggering the WCD detection algorithm and starting the sequence of arrhythmia alarms, shock delivery was prevented by pushing of the response buttons. Results: In six of 60 patients (10%), continuous unipolar pacing in DDD mode triggered the WCD detection algorithm. In no patient, triggering occurred with bipolar DDD pacing, unipolar and bipolar AAI, and VVI pacing. Triggering was independent of pacing amplitude, RV pacing lead position, and pulse generator implantation site. Conclusion: Unipolar DDD pacing bears a high risk of false triggering of the WCD detection algorithm. Other types of unipolar pacing and all bipolar pacing modes do not seem to mislead the WCD detection algorithm. Therefore, patients with no reprogrammable unipolar DDD pacing should not become candidates for the WCD.

Collision Handling in 3D Articulatory Animation for Chinese Speech Articulation

The aim of this paper is to efficiently handle collisions that happened in the oral cavity. We proposed a collision handling method which includes two stages: collision detection stage for detecting collisions happened among the tongue vs: teeth and the tongue vs: palate; and collision response stage which is used to avoid a physically impossible situation. Here, the physically impossible situation indicates that the virtual tongue would penetrate the rest articulators in the oral cavity during its movements. The movements of the virtual tongue are driven by the data recorded by three electromagnetic articulography (EMA) sensors attached to a female Chinese speaker's tongue when the desired Chinese speech articulations are being articulated. Here, two Chinese speech articulations are used in our experiment to test our method: /ba/ and /t'a/. © 2015

Characterizing and Detecting Surge and Co-Surge in Automotive Compressors

The instability phenomena associated with compressor surge impose limitations on the operation of turbocharged engines because of undesired noise, engine torque capability constraints, and hardware strain. Characterizing and detecting surge is of interest, e.g., when defining the useful operating range for a compressor or for advanced online mitigation techniques. To that end, an intensity metric based on classical wave theory is proposed. The metric is computed based on measurements capturing the surge oscillations in either pressure or mass flow. The metric characterizes how powerful the surge oscillations are and is effectively a scaling of the oscillation amplitude with the thermodynamic conditions. An algorithm for computing the intensity and detecting surge is developed and demonstrated on a single-turbo I-engine and a twin-turbo V-engine application exhibiting deep surge and co-surge, respectively. The advantages of the metric are highlighted and differences in using pressure versus mass flow sensors for computing the oscillation amplitudes are discussed. © 2016
