A Model for Evaluating the Crystallinity Quality of Single Crystals Grown by the Floating Zone Technique

The floating zone technique is a popular method for crystal growth of nonconventional superconductors and magnetic materials. However, the quality must be characterized with particular care with respect to their actual crystallinity since not everything grown by floating zone method is a single crystal. In this paper, the molten-zone sensitive material LiCoPO4 has been grown by the floating zone method using Co(NO3)(2)center dot 6H(2)O and CoO precursors, respectively, abbreviated as LCPN and LCPO. The grown materials are characterized regarding their chemical composition, phase purity, crystal perfection, and orientation. In order to optimize crystal growth and quantitatively characterize its crystallinity quality, the development factor (V) has been proposed to determine the growth rate of the grains, while the orientation deviation factor (delta) for assessing the quality of the grown crystals. The development factors V for LCPN and LCPO are calculated to be 0.05 and 0.09, respectively, indicating that the grains of LCPO develop faster than those of LCPN. At the same time, the orientation deviation factor of LCPO exceeds that of LCPN (delta(LCPO) = 2.00, delta(LCPN) = 0.77) suggesting a higher quality for the latter. This model provides significant guidance for the evaluation of other materials grown by the floating zone method.

The development of green architecture in the United States is in the world's leading position, Making a research on influencing factor of the development of green building is the foundation to promote the development of green building in China. In this paper, based on building research model of influencing factors of development of green building, constructs the structural equation model and then collects date through a questionnaire survey and analyzes validity of the date by using SPSS20.0 software to. The results show that: technological management, policy management, cost management, market development are all plays a positive role in the development of green buildings, but the impact of technological development on the development of cost management is not significant.

Dynamic process and artificial mechanism of coastline change in the Pearl River Estuary

The Pearl River Estuary (PRE) is a window into the drastic changes that occurred throughout coastal areas due to artificial agglomeration following China's 1978 economic reform. In this study, multi-temporal Landsat remote sensing images were used to extract coastlines in the PRE with the support vector machine (SVM). In addition, the coastline was divided into nine segments by using the eight mouths as the cut-off points. A statistical analysis was performed on the length and changes of each coastline segment. The analysis was focused on the five shores that exhibited obvious changes. Subsequently, a correlation analysis between three artificial development factors, namely, the development intensity, development speed, and development density, and the shoreline length was conducted, following which the main driving factors influencing the changes in the coastline were obtained. Finally, the dynamic processes and artificial mechanisms of the coastline changes in the PRE were deeply analyzed. The results reveal that the coastline has been gradually advancing over a distance of 164.01 km toward the sea over the past 40 years, and the growth rate initially showed a rapidly increasing trend in 1978 but has since slowed from 1998 to the present. The most significant changes were detected along the Hutiao Men-Jiti Men and Jiti Men-Modao Men shore areas due to the impacts of human activities. The development speed presented dominant influence on coastline change at the end of the 20th century, but the development intensity was the primary influence factor during the early 21st century. To a certain extent, the monitoring and analysis of historical coastline changes can contribute to coastal zone planning in more detail, thereby promoting the sustainable development of coastal zones. Smart City technologies are increasingly coming to the population daily living. Smart City technologies provide efficient city services, as a central instrument of receiving various services for residents (energy and water supply, urban infrastructure, transportation etc.). The purpose of research is the definition of methodological approaches of a settlements development modelling. Methods include collation of local and foreign experience in modeling the territorial development of urban and rural settlements. Justification Pentagon-model used for such problems solution was shown. The systems/factors of a rural settlement sustainable development are based on a systematic analysis of existing development models of urban and rural settlements, as well as the authors-developed method for estimating the agro-towns development level. All this allowed to build the rural development model, which consists of five major systems: ecological system, economic system, administrative system, anthropogenic (physical) system and social system (supra-structure). As a results, the methodological approaches for building an estimating model of rural settlements development were revealed (Smart City concept, Pentagon concept). The basic motivation factors that provide communication systems were identified;the critical factors for each subsystem were devoted and substantiated. Such approach was justified by the composition of the tasks for spatial planning of the local and state level offices. The expediency of applying Smart City concept and the basic Pentagon-model that were successfully used in solving the analogous problems of sustainable development was shown.

Typology of transport systems of Russia's depressed regions

The theoretical and methodological aspects of an analysis of regional transport systems are studied, a comprehensive typology of transport systems at the regional and municipal levels is performed, and modeling of typological and evaluative synthetic characteristics of the transport network of the Republic of Mordovia is suggested. The comprehensiveness of the study results from the presence of various components of the territorial socioeconomic systems: production facilities, population, and the environment. The proposed approach is based on the creation of an integral index for aggregated information, which ranks and types the regions and regional transport systems to quantify the value of this index. We study the typological characteristics and properties of regions, the impact of the transport factor on their functioning, and the possibility of increasing regional competitiveness with efficient transport strategies, which may help to overcome regional depressiveness. The six basic types of transport systems of depressed regions are identified. With the case of the Republic of Mordovia, which has the same attributes of its transport network as most of the other studied regions, we carry out a typology of the networks at the municipal district level. The proposed modeling of typological and evaluative synthetic characteristics of the transport network of the Republic of Mordovia could be used to solve problems of road transport operations in the region, territorial planning, and the formation of regional development strategies. © 2015 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

The development effect of Song Fangtun Oilfield is mainly restricted by two factors which are geology and exploitation. In view of the main control factors in oilfield development, we selected two indexes, monthly average decline range and water content escalating rate to establish early warning system of blocks development effect. The system which has great practical application value, is sensitive to reflecting the monthly variation process of block development effect, and plays a certain guiding role in the development effect during the whole year.
