In this study, a novel inset-fed slotted modified T-shape microstrip patch antenna with DGS is presented. This paper is a demonstration of differential algorithm (DE), which is used to optimize the various design parameters of slotted patch antenna in accordance with diverse necessities and scenarios, and also lowers the computation complexity of antenna. The proposed antenna design resonates in two different frequency bands, viz 11.13-11.82 and 15.77-16.89GHz with their respective bandwidths of 690 and 1120MHz resonating at 11.47GHz and 16.27GHz, respectively. These frequency bands have their application in the field of satellite broadcasting, aeronautical military systems, and radio astronomy corresponding to X and Ku band. The designed antenna has an overall small size of 20x11mm(2). The simulated and measured results for the proposed antenna with DE are presented and discussed further.

Among all the existing segmentation techniques, the thresholding technique is one of the most popular due to its simplicity, robustness, and accuracy (e.g. the maximum entropy method, Otsu's method, and K-means clustering). However, the computation time of these algorithms grows exponentially with the number of thresholds due to their exhaustive searching strategy. As a population-based optimization algorithm, differential algorithm (DE) uses a population of potential solutions and decision-making processes. It has shown considerable success in solving complex optimization problems within a reasonable time limit. Thus, applying this method into segmentation algorithm should be a good choice during to its fast computational ability. In this paper, we first propose a new differential algorithm with a balance strategy, which seeks a balance between the exploration of new regions and the exploitation of the already sampled regions. Then, we apply the new DE into the traditional Otsu's method to shorten the computation time. Experimental results of the new algorithm on a variety of images show that, compared with the EA-based thresholding methods, the proposed DE algorithm gets more effective and efficient results. It also shortens the computation time of the traditional Otsu method.

This study optimizes the GPS static positioning algorithm based on only four observable satellites. An improved differential algorithm is proposed after analyzing the disadvantages of the classical algorithm and the limitation of traditional differential algorithm. The linear equations are built and solved directly using pseudorange measurement from four observable satellites. The data conclude two neighboring epoch data from a best-position satellite and the data from other three satellites in current epoch. The best-position satellite is chosen based on improved satellite-selecting algorithm. The experimental result indicates that our new algorithm requires no derivative and iterative calculation procedures. Comparing to the traditional algorithm, the problem for GPS worse positioning situation with only four observable satellites is solved without lowering the positioning accuracy. This new algorithm is significantly important to the study of GPS static positioning algorithm based on pseudocode measurement.

This paper studies the segmentation methods by analyzing the threshold method of rubbings. Firstly, OTSU and fast 2 dimensional OTSU threshold segmentation algorithms are presented, and the segmentation effect of a given image is analyzed. The limitation of OTSU, and fast 2dimensional OTSU segmentation algorithm are explained. Then the segmentation algorithm is given in conjunction with the histogram, and the segmentation effect is proven effective by experiments. The experimental results show that the OTSU algorithm is difficult to distinguish target and background when their areas are different. The rubbings image segmentation algorithm based on the histogram differential can effectively separate the target from the background.

??? With the continuous development of science and technology, the requirement of signal source is higher and higher. Single port signal source is difficult to meet experimental requirements of radiation spatial field distribution. In this paper, a dual port radiation device for changing the field distribution is proposed. The dual port radiation device is mainly composed of the DC to 6 GHz experimental radiation device, amplifier, attenu-ator, and the phase shifter. After adding two different excitation signals to the dual port, the field distribution of the radiation device is calculated by improved differ-ential algorithm and simulated by CST software. The simulated results are in good agreement with the calcu-lated results. The innovation of this research lies in the dual port and controlling the field distribution of the radi-ation space freely.

In order to promote the development of visual target tracking technology, this paper uses discrete differential algorithm in computer to assist analysis. First, the development status of target tracking technology is expounded, constructing the target tracking model by using different image sequences. In order to enhance the efficiency of target tracking, discrete differential algorithm is added. The algorithm can reduce the complexity of the computation and adopt the traditional optical flow evaluation method and level set frame tracking method to perfect. An optimization and update scheme is proposed from the algorithm flow and evaluation model, and an effective evaluation model is established by effectively evaluating the state of the visual tracking target model. In the test of target tracking model, through the comparison of different targets and the efficiency of data calculation, it is proved that the model can be layered for the target, and the addition of discrete differential algorithm effectively solves the problem of scale self-adaptation, which deserves further popularization.

Potential-Based differential Evolution algorithm With Joint Adaptation of Parameters and Strategies

In the differential evolution (DE) algorithm, numerous studies have independently performed strategy adaptation and parameter adaptation. However, the strategy and parameters are interrelated in their impact on algorithm performance. It is well known that different problems and evolutionary stages require different appropriate parameters and strategies, but the fact that the same is true for different individuals is ignored. Few studies have focused on the difference in fitness values between two successive generations, which contains substantial evolution information. This study proposes a potential-based DE algorithm with joint adaptation of parameters and strategies (JAPSPDE). In JAPSPDE, a new population classification scheme, a new classification evolution mechanism, and a new joint adaptation mechanism are proposed to circumvent the three abovementioned issues. In the population classification scheme, individuals are divided into potential and unpotential individuals according to the improvement in fitness values between two generations. A classification evolution mechanism is applied by evolving potential individuals and unpotential individuals in two ways. In addition, a three-dimensional probability array is constructed to achieve joint adaptation of parameters and strategies. Finally, after properly combining the above algorithmic components, JAPSPDE can find the most appropriate combination of control parameters and mutation strategies for specific problems, stages, and individuals. The performance of JAPSPDE is evaluated in comparison with five well-known DE algorithms on BBOB2012 and CEC2014 and with six up-to-date evolution algorithms on CEC2014. The comparison results demonstrate the competitive performance of JAPSPDE.

High-performance differential evolution algorithm guided by information from individuals with potential

In the differential evolution (DE) algorithm, many adaptive methods have been studied in terms of fitness values. However, few studies exist on the information from individuals with potential, which presents a large difference in fitness values from that of previous individuals and contains much evolution information. This study proposes a high-performance DE (PDE) algorithm guided by information from individuals with potential. In PDE, all individuals are divided into individuals with potential and individuals without potential according to their improvement in fitness values. The experience learned from the generation of individuals with potential is used to guide future individuals. At each generation, the selection probability of each strategy in the strategy pool is determined by the strategy's contribution to the improvement in fitness values when generating individuals with potential. The parameters are randomly generated with two distributions, and the location parameters of the two distributions are adjusted on the basis of the improvement in fitness values of individuals with potential. Different individuals (with or without potential) may have different characteristics and evolution methods. Therefore, the generation process of individuals with potential is separated into two cases according to whether they are from previous individuals with or without potential. The study results of the two cases are applied to guide the evolution of current individuals with and without potential. The proposed algorithm is evaluated by comparing it with five advanced DE variants on CEC2005 and seven up-to-date evolutionary algorithms on CEC2014. Comparison results demonstrate the competitive performance of the proposed algorithm. The PDE is also applied to estimate the parameters of a kinetic model of p-xylene oxidation process. The signal processing of the grating encoder has a great impact on its accuracy and resolution. We proposed a new type of signal processing method for a grating encoder using a two-phase differential algorithm based on the two-phase physical structure. The interference signal could be divided into two phases with 90 degrees phase delay, capable of effectively reducing the number of optical devices and the space occupied by the reading head. Owing to the rapid elimination of the DC component in the measurement signal, the measurement displacement was solved swiftly by the two-phase signal using the algorithm. In the experiment, a 660 nm laser and a 1 mu m-period grating were used, and the scale grating was actuated at a speed of 1 mu m/s by a linear stage. With a sampling rate of 20 kHz, the system resolution of the grating encoder was enabled to reach 50 pm. Simultaneously, there was a measurement error of +/- 1 mu m at a stroke of 4 mm, and the error within a single cycle was 2 nm. Compared with the four-phase algorithm, our proposed two-phase differential algorithm exhibits a compact physical structure and fast solution without reducing the accuracy and resolution, which will be of great significance to the real-time measurement and miniaturization of grating encoders.
