Flexible digital coding Tunable Bandpass Filter Integrated With Flexible Zinc-Ion Batteries

The flexible digital coding tunable bandpass filters (BPFs) are designed in this work, tuned by organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) and integrated with flexible zinc-ion batteries (FZIBs). OECTs are applied as radio frequency (RF) switches in this system. Meanwhile, FZIBs are integrated in this system to provide a stable switching voltage for OECTs. The electrical properties and RF performance of OECTs switches are deeply investigated. The 3.92-7.15-GHz digital coding multistate tunable BPF is designed and fabricated to verify the tunable performance. Flatness, bending state, and cyclic performance are tested to verify the stability of the tuning strategy. All the above results indicate that the designed digital coding multistate tunable BPFs, without high external drive voltages, can be widely used in the fields of 5G, 6G, artificial intelligence Internet of Things (AIoTs), and wearable systems.

This correspondence adresses the problem of maximizing the subjective picture quality at given bit rates for coded video. coding is carried out using different picture formats. The parameters involved are the number of pixels horizontally and vertically and interlacing/noninterlacing. The coding is done according to the MPEG-2 standard.

Hybrid digital coding Metasurface for Independent Control of Propagating Surface and Spatial Waves

A metasurface is a kind of planar metamaterial made by placing subwavelength-scale structures into a 2D pattern on a surface or interface. It has been attracting much attention in recent years. In this paper, a concept for a hybrid digital coding metasurface is proposed that can manipulate the radiation of surface waves (SWs) and spatially propagating waves (SPWs), independently and simultaneously, in the same frequency band. By independently controlling the coding sequences of digital elements "0" and "1" for surface impedance and metasurface reflection phase, the SW radiation and SPW reflection can be reconfigured and manipulated in both the elevation and azimuth directions, respectively, with weak mutual coupling. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to simultaneously manipulate SW and SPW radiation using only a single metasurface with a shared aperture. Full-wave simulations and experimental measurements are presented to validate the proposed theory and new physical phenomena.

With the development of bioinformatics, it is a valuable subject to study the biological sequence on the protein aspect with the computer based on the threshold of encoding 20 kinds of amino acids, because many biological phenotype characters, gene regulating control network are determined by amino acids sequence. It is feasible to analyze genetic signals in amino acid sequences because there are already, a lot of mature information process systems. This paper makes use of similarity rule, complementarily rule, molecular recognition theory, and information theory to set up a model of digital coding for amino acids. The model reflects better amino acid chemical physical properties and degeneracy It transforms the symbolic DNA sequences into digital genetic signals of amino acids and offers the possibility to utilize Cellular Automata. Correspondingly, it opens the possibility to apply a whole range of powerful signal processing methods for analysis of amino acids.

this manuscript presents the digital coding metasurface control by light in remote mode to dynamically manipulate the EM (electromagnetic wave) in real-time. The varactor diode is embedded in the digital metasurface that changes the EM characteristics of the metasurface without altering its physical dimensions. The photodiode and voltage-driven module are connected to control the varactor diode loaded in the unit cell element, reducing the system's overall volume and cross-talk between the D.C. signal and EM wave. The photodiode module converts the illuminating light intensity into voltage and tunes the unit cell's states in a non-contact way. These arrangements of digital coding Meta surface can manipulate the EM wave after applying the different coding sequences and generate beam splitting and deflection of the radiation pattern. The proposed digital coding Meta surface is 1-bit coding composed of "0" and "1" unit cell elements corresponding to 0 and 180-degree phase responses respectively. The design and simulation of the proposed unit cell element and digitally coded large array are carried out and observed the amplitude, phase response and beam splitting characteristics which may find promising applications in wireless communication, RCS Reduction, and OAM beam generation.

Optical lattices have been widely used from classical to quantum physics. The tunable and scalable fabrication of lattices would be of great significance in lattice-based multipartite applications. This work demonstrates first that a circular Airy beam (CAB), which has the peculiar properties of self-healing and abrupt autofocusing, can be used to generate two-dimensional (2D) optical lattices in propagation when encoded by a programmable spatial mask, resulting in the formation of large-scale and tunable optical lattices with both axis and axial symmetry, and even high-orbital kaleidoscope shapes. The efficient diffraction of CAB during the spatial crosstalk with the mask enables the realization of tunable lattices with rich periodicity and complexity. The study shows a flexible method to manipulate lattices with large-scale and versatile structures for potential applications in integrated and scalable optical and photonic devices. Co-Prime Modulation for Space-Time-coding digital Metasurfaces with Ultralow-Scattering Characteristics

Multi-dimensional modulation of electromagnetic (EM) waves is critical in various fields such as electronic and photonic systems. Space-time-coding (STC) digital metasurfaces, an innovative platform for programmable metasurfaces, offer a straightforward and robust solution for spatio-temporal modulation, thereby enabling EM-wave manipulations in both space and frequency. Conventional STC schemes rely on periodic temporal modulations that are uniform in space (i.e., with same modulation frequency in all metasurface elements), and therefore do not take advantage of spatio-temporal coupling effects that can be induced by non-uniform periodic modulations (i.e., with different modulation frequencies across the metasurface elements). Here, a novel approach involving non-uniform spatio-temporal modulation, alongside co-prime modulation, is introduced. This approach enhances the fundamental principles of STC digital metasurfaces and facilitates the synthesis of angular scattering responses across different frequencies, guided by harmonic coupling conditions. The proposed strategy results in a more even distribution of the scattered intensity in both space and frequency. For validation, an experimental proof-of-principle for spatial-spectral diffuse scattering is presented. The experimental outcomes align closely with theoretical predictions, underscoring the effectiveness of co-prime modulation in achieving ultralow-scattering characteristics in STC digital metasurfaces. Moreover, this technique holds promise for applications in secure wireless communications, radar jamming, and complex beamforming. A novel approach involving non-uniform spatio-temporal modulation, alongside co-prime modulation, is introduced for space-time-coding digital metasurfaces. An experimental proof-of-principle for spatial-spectral diffuse scattering is presented at microwave frequencies. The modern military communication extensively utilizes radio spectrums to convey important information. Radio transceivers have evolved from large analog transceivers to miniature digital transceivers. digital transceivers are relied on digital communication techniques, which include various digital codings and digital modulations. digital codings are crucial processes in most digital communications. The outstanding advantages of digital codings are that it conserves channel bandwidth, and it makes information more robust. There are plenty of digital codings in military communications. Each coding is suitable for the specific application and environment. The implementation of various digital codings on one device is possible with a software defined radio (SDR), at which the transmission characteristics of a SDR can be defined by the software running on the device. Hence, a SDR can be reprogrammed to meet the require transmission characteristics. A logic parts of SDR can be implemented either by digital Signal Processor (DSP) or Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). With the current semiconductor technology, both DSP and FPGA can be integrated into one chip, which is known as a System-on-Chip (SoC). This article evaluates the performance of the military digital codings on SoC as the digital processing unit. The result shows that SoC-based SDR can be a potential for SDR in the military communications.
