Color image encryption scheme for distributed architecture with SCFP chaotic map

Image protection mechanism in distributed cloud network is an essential component of information security field. In this paper, a novel one-dimensional sine-cosine fractional power chaotic map (SCFP) is proposed. Results of various dynamical system tests illustrate that SCFP exhibits superior chaotic behavior over its infinite positive real parameter range, whose complexity and unpredictability can guarantee the strength of image cryptosystem. Furthermore, a color image encryption scheme tailored for distributed architecture is devised. Firstly, a hybrid cryptographic mechanism is designed to perform diffusion and confusion encryption for image data and ECC public key encryption for intermediate keys. Secondly, the diffusion structure elevates processing units to row-column level, and the diffusion order is dictated by a pseudo-random sequence generated by SCFP. Thirdly, the confusion structure extends the unbiased and efficient Fisher-Yates algorithm into a 2D space, and adopts a design of dual plaintext-related key. Lastly, three techniques namely QOI lossless compression, DE information embedding and threshold secret sharing are integrated to resolve issues of data volume inflation, key synchronization difficulty and poor fault tolerance. Simulation experiments conducted on multiple color images demonstrate that the proposed scheme offers significant ciphertext randomness, sufficiently large key space and strong key sensitivity, which can ensure the integrity of image data and resist various typical cryptographic attacks, and outperforms existing schemes oriented to centralized architecture in terms of security and efficiency.

The interoperability in railway systems and especially in railway signaling interlocking is an issue for mobility need and to master the evolution of technology. Today, traffic of trains need a continuous communication, and the diversity of technologies makes the interoperability difficult. In Europe, some projects are in development to solve the interoperability problem. The European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) is the first project deployed: It aims to establish an exchange of signaling information between interlocking and train. EULYNX is another project interested in standardization of interfaces between field equipment and computer interlocking. In this paper, we propose an architecture of computer interlocking that deal with the interoperability between adjacent calculator through a combination between functional blocks of IEC 61499 standard and service-oriented architecture (SOA). Moreover, the combination is executed on a distributed mode of sub-calculators that compose the calculator of the computer interlocking.

With the rapid development of information technology, people have put forward higher requirements for the audio-visual experience and usage functions of conference spaces. The traditional, single-function conference room configuration can no longer adapt to the diverse needs of modern work and interactive activities. How to achieve efficient management and control, seamless interconnection, and resource sharing of audio systems across spaces, while ensuring the acoustic characteristics and flexibility of each independent space, has become a core issue that needs to be urgently resolved in building a multi-hall, multi-functional conference room cluster. Based on the audio system project of the Academic Center of the Communication University of China, this paper proposes a solution for a conference room cluster audio system based on a distributed architecture. This solution not only overcomes the limitations of traditional systems in terms of scalability, collaborative work, and resource scheduling but also promotes lossless transmission, real-time processing, and adaptive configuration of audio signals. Thus, it ensures the consistency and high quality of the audio experience within the entire cluster, providing practical guidance for the design and optimization of future conference room audio systems.

Wireless network simulation is the main method to evaluate network performance and communication equipment to access the network. It plays an important role in the whole life cycle of wireless network. Wireless network high-precision simulation is based on electromagnetic wave principle and geometric optics principle, and accurately simulates various propagation paths of wireless electromagnetic signal in space. It is characterized by accurate calculation but high complexity. Efficient wireless network simulation technology architecture is the basis of wireless network simulation industry application. This paper presents a large-scale distributed technology architecture for wireless network simulation. The technical solution adopts the key technologies of distributed computing, service orchestration technology and balanced scheduling algorithm. This scheme realizes efficient wireless network simulation. The wireless simulation efficiency of this scheme can be increased to 0.11s in a single cell, and the simulation efficiency is increased by 63 times. It has reached the international leading level, laying a solid foundation for the large-scale application of wireless network simulation. © 2024 IEEE.

Optical Sensor Based Continuous Blood Glucose Estimation Using Lightweight distributed architecture

Diabetes is a non-communicable disease and people face many health issues due to diabetes. Worldwide, more than 500 million people have diabetes today. Currently, most devices measure blood glucose levels from a person’s blood, collected by pricking a fingertip. It is necessary for people with Type-1 diabetes to regularly check their blood glucose levels to prevent major health issues. Several times pricking a fingertip in a day feels very painful. This situation increases the demand for non-invasive blood glucose measurement devices, and a certain amount of research has been reported in recent years. This paper proposes a less complex, near infrared-based non-invasive device that measures glucose level continuously with higher accuracy. This paper also proposes a lightweight distributed architecture that utilizes the readings of the proposed device to estimate blood glucose level. The proposed architecture is validated using root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute difference (MAD), and mean absolute relative difference (mARD) which are calculated as 6.08 mg/dL, 1.79 mg/dL, and 1.51%, respectively. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Researchers in exploration and development (E&D) field need several professional software resources for data processing and analysis. Enterprises can achieve cloud-based usage and shared management of petroleum exploration and development software through the deployment of cloud platforms. With the increasing demand for remote and overseas collaborative research, the single-node cloud platform deployment mode no longer meets the needs of collaborative research. This paper proposes a construction scheme of cloud platform for petroleum software based on distributed architecture, which realizes the unified management of software research environment, software licenses, and data. The proposed architecture has been implemented in a division of CNPC, realizing the cloudification of more than 20 mainstream professional E&D software applications such as Petrel and LandMark. By establishing central sites in Beijing and branch sites in Dubai and Hangzhou, the researchers are provided with a cross-regional collaborative research environment on the cloud, thereby enhancing the research efficiency, improving the efficiency of cross-regional collaborative research, and facilitating the unified data management and the digital transformation of petroleum enterprises in the cloud environment. HoDiNT: distributed architecture for collection and analysis of Internet Background Radiation

Attacks on the Internet are constant, with different typologies and processes. The initial stages usually involve an enumeration of targets and available services, generating what is known as Internet Background Radiation (IBR). Capturing and analysing this traffic has proven to be crucial for the early identification and detection of attacks. Commonly used architectures for the acquisition of background traffic are based on "black holes", which are systems that collect this traffic by advertising large blocks of unused IP addresses to the Internet, identifying the traffic received as IBR. These systems have a number of inherent drawbacks, such as the requirement to process large volumes of data, and deal with the existence of a large amount of repetitive data, the fact that they are easily identifiable by the IP addresses used and, finally, that they are expensive to maintain. With the aim of improving the above undesired characteristics, this paper proposes "HoDiNT"(HOme distributed Network Telescope), a distributed architecture for the acquisition of Internet Background Radiation. HoDiNT is implemented with low-cost advanced acquisition techniques and without the need to use specific IP address ranges, making it easier to hide the sensors. An initial scan of the traffic received for one month is performed on the probes deployed, and a subsequent analysis is performed on the collected data to draw conclusions.

JointCloud computing supports large-scale resource consolidation and collaboration among multiple cloud service providers to provide users with powerful performance and adequate services. In the face of exponential scaling of resources, monitoring is an indispensable part of effective resource management. Monitoring provides methods for reviewing and managing the performance status of JointCloud resources and services to better characterize the overall operating status of JointCloud system. However, the collaboration between cloud service providers and the scale of resources in JointCloud are dynamically changing, and it is not easy to perform monitoring in a flexible and scalable way. In order to cover all aspects related to resource monitoring in JointCloud environments, we propose a distributed monitoring architecture for JointCloud computing. The architecture focuses on the ability to obtain information, organizes monitoring components in a modular way, and supports on-demand startup to provide dynamic monitoring capabilities. The proposed distributed monitoring approach provides load balancing and fault tolerance services to ensure reliability and performance of monitoring. The architecture also considers the JointCloud quality of service (QoS) and designs a virtual resource orchestration approach aimed at improving the efficiency of resource utilization. We have developed a prototype architecture and presented experimental results to evaluate our design. The prototype architecture can be easily deployed in public or private JointCloud infrastructures for flexible and scalable monitoring. The evaluation results show that our architecture is feasible in terms of performance and scalability.

The design and implementation of distributed architecture in the CMOR motion control system

The CMOR Motion Control System is a multi-degree-of-freedom, long-beam, heavy-duty robot system with end effectors used to maintain the blanket and divertor of the China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor (CFETR) with irregular structural geometry. Since the multi-degree of freedom, large size, and flexible structure of the fusion robot will increase the complexity of the algorithm, it is necessary to design the corresponding control system and auxiliary algorithm to realize the motion control of the robot. In this paper, a feasible CMOR (CFETR Multipurpose Overload Robot) motion control system architecture is proposed, which adopts the distributed control structure of the upper and lower machine. Firstly, the game theory algorithm decouples the macro arm with 9-degree-freedom and the micro arm with 14 degree-of-freedom (dual 7-DOFs robots) and separates the pose and accuracy targets after planning the motion of the target task with the Markov chain. Secondly, to improve the accuracy, the kinematics controller based on macro arm motion planning strategy for initial posi-tioning and the force-position hybrid controller based on micro arm motion planning strategy for compensation for precise positioning are designed separately. Finally, a robot distributed architecture is designed to realize offline and online simulation and control in which the offline mode simulates a collision-free trajectory based on the game theory and the online mode synchronously displays fusion robot motion by digital twin technology. The feasible CMOR motion control system architecture is proposed in this paper which can assist complex algorithms to achieve intelligent control in the fusion application.

Smart contracts have gained significant attention in the software development community because they are the mechanism for building blockchain applications. This work provides a distributed software architecture and an implementation for accessing a smart contract, called NFT-Vehicle, implemented on the Ethereum blockchain platform. The main idea behind NFT-Vehicle is the digitization process of a motorized vehicle in a digital asset. The architecture outlines two security protocols, one from the stakeholders who connect towards the back-end, and the other internally. The back-end includes mainly two parts: an API-gateway and the smart contract located in a blockchain. We report the acquired experiences and a list of identified errors found during the unit tests that are difficult to notice with simple requests. Our solution can be used as a base for real implementations of tokenizing physical cars into digital assets.
