This article outlined the basic principle, feature and core technology of distributed SOA, analyzing the distributed object technology and the Web technology integration, describing the differences between distributed SOA and centralized SOA. On this basis, it discussed the function and concrete implementation of SOA in distributed architecture, proposing a SOA based distributed multi-layer architecture and the application integration framework for achieving J2EE. It can connect the distributed application program without constraint and realize the share of data and function among application programs. It not only eases the realization of functional layers, but also provides better maintainability and scalability.

This paper shows a design based on distributed architectures for a remote laboratory to learn cybersecurity and infrastructure protection systems. distributed architectures, especially those supported by virtualization and cloud computing, along with other emerging technologies such as Game-based Learning (GBL), currently are a hot trend in educational and professional fields. Around this idea, a key is the concept of educational piece as meaning an element of instructional design where is including a suitable game. Therefore, each piece is characterized. These points among others allow us to plan the game-based lab design and to determine most appropriate time for each learning activity. Eventually, a game-piece-based architecture is able to deploy a kind of laboratories on cybersecurity and critical infrastructures, but that can be generalized for educational activities in other fields. This method provides a coherent reasoning to learning objectives and enough flexibility within a teaching program. In order to get a consistent and effective overcome, a laboratory implementation requires nowadays communication systems, hosts, some virtualization or cloud services, particularly for remote learning, but even for improving the traditional computer classrooms.

A distributed Software architecture for IoT: Container Orchestration Impact and Evaluation

This paper proposes a distributed Software architecture (DSA) for Smart Building (SB) based on the Reactive Manifesto (RM) principles. To follow the RM principles, we analyze the usage of different deployment approaches, particularly the impact of using a container orchestrator on the application layer. After running performance tests on the different configurations, the container orchestrator usage led to enhanced distributed processing, lowering the latency, increasing flexibility, enhancing security, and providing cost-effectiveness and scalability. We introduce the implementation of a modern DSA, developed following state-of-the-art cloud patterns and compliant with the RM for the SB context. Furthermore, we have ensured the reproducibility of this implementation by making the initial tests and overall architecture code available in public repositories. The research follows the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology for elaborating each phase until we get the artifact (DSA) and, with this, contribute to the Knowledge Base. The architecture was properly tested, considering the performance as the principal test layer. This solution is tailored for application in domains of the Internet of Things (IoT), focusing on the SB and a case study involving the Laboratory of distributed Systems and Concurrent Programming (LaSDPC) at São Paulo University. Moreover, its applicability extends to IoT domains like smart home, smart campus, smart city, and health-related applications.

A distributed Defensive architecture for DoS/DDoS Attacks

Denial of Service (DoS) and distributed DoS (DDoS) attacks pose a great security threat to the availability of Internet resources to users. Despite research efforts, progress in solving these flooding attacks is limited. Present techniques place the burden of detection on the violated machines. To address this situation, an integrated defense solution, implemented in a distributed manner throughout the network to prevent, detect, filter and rate limit is essential. Such a distributed system requires integration of various components to perform the aforementioned tasks. This paper advocates a distributed architecture of heterogeneous entities, placed at various points of a network working co-operatively to yield an effective defense against the attacks. Through analysis, we prove our system offers very little bandwidth to attack traffic while maximizing the bandwidth to legitimate traffic. Our system also saves significant CPU cycles by detecting and filtering the spoofed traffic at the earliest possible time. Instead of a single point of deployment, we find that this shift to a new paradigm outperforms the previously existing techniques.

Paper shows the presentation on distributed control architecture developed for cold-rolled aluminum foil where the many process parameters to be controlled,such as automatic gauge control(AGC),automatic flatness control(AFC) and rolling force *** on PXI bus-mastering as hardware and LabVIEW 7.1 as software,the multi-client single server distributed architecture,with real-time operation and remote data sharing,is achieved,by making use of the DataSocket and the simple and effective TCP/IP messaging *** good control effect and high performance have been confirmed in the practical measurement and automation system applications.

With the development of modern network technology, the distributed construction is considered to represent the trend of SOA. Since it is more likely to be a theoretic framework for a macroscopic system rather than practical software architecture to implement it, the urgent problem is that there is no standard development pattern for implementation of SOA. On the other hand, OSGi, which is integrated with service as the smallest unit, shares common goal with SOA, may make contributions to the implementation of SOA by providing practical software architecture. However OSGi has the shortage that the operation is limited in one JVM and communications of OSGi services can not be extended to different hosts. OSGi should be extended to distributed architecture in order to support distributed SOA implementation. Attempts are made in this article to design an extended distributed OSGi architecture for the purpose of developing a practical development pattern for SOA implementation. In this article, three new independent OSGi services are designed to implement distribution without modifying the existed OSGi code. They are basic service, registry service and proxy service. In the new distributed OSGi runtime environment, services in different JVM could call each other and the whole processes are transparent.

This study presents a design of a distributed architecture and an application for automated demand response, in which one electricity aggregator cooperates with a group of consumers. The distributed architecture utilizes an asynchronous message oriented middleware to integrate the defined components. The application adopts a distributed demand response optimization algorithm for the validation of the presented architecture. The algorithm aims to optimize the charging schedule of the consumers' energy storage devices in order to minimize the energy acquisition cost while maintaining a level of elasticity in the schedules. By means of simulations, it is validated that the distributed architecture is capable of performing optimized automated demand response.

Fog computing can provide an effective solution to the challenges presented by today's ever-emerging Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructures. As the number of interconnected devices progressively increases, these infrastructures require better solutions to ensure high scalability and processing capacity, along with an efficient use of available resources. This is why this paper presents a distributed Fog architecture, specifically designed to address the challenges and difficulties presented by heterogeneous IoT environments. This Fog architecture is used as an intermediate layer between the IoT devices and the final layer, it has been designed after the previous analysis of the requirements to be met for the solution, then the modularization of the architecture has been carried out so that it can be easily distributed, and finally, an implementation has been generated on a real environment as a validation case of the proposal.

A distributed Machine Learning-Based Scheme for Real-Time Highway Traffic Flow Prediction in Internet of Vehicles

Abnormal traffic flow prediction is crucial for reducing traffic congestion. Most recent studies utilized machine learning models in traffic flow detection systems. However, these detection systems do not support real-time analysis. Centralized machine learning methods face a number of challenges due to the sheer volume of traffic data that needs to be processed in real-time. Thus, it is not scalable and lacks fault tolerance and data privacy. This study designs and evaluates a scalable distributed machine learning-based scheme to predict highway traffic flows in real-time. The proposed system is segment-based where the vehicles in each segment form a cluster. We train and validate a local Random Forest Regression (RFR) model for each vehicle's cluster (highway-segment) using six different hyper parameters. Due to the variance of traffic flow patterns between segments, we build a global distributed Machine Learning Random Forest (DMLRF) regression model to improve the system performance for abnormal traffic flows. Kappa architecture is utilized to enable real-time prediction. The proposed model is evaluated and compared to other base-line models, Linear Regression (LR), Logistic Regression (LogR), and K Nearest Neighbor (KNN) regression in terms of Mean Square Error (MSE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), R-squared (R2), and Adjusted R-Squared (AR2). The proposed scheme demonstrates high accuracy in predicting abnormal traffic flows while maintaining scalability and data privacy.

Multi-robot dynamic path planning with priority based on simulated annealing

This paper presents a path planning method based on an improved simulated annealing (SA) for multi-robot navigation in a 2D plane. The method can achieve collision-free and efficient movement in environments where dynamic obstacles exist. To address the problem of considerable computational effort of general heuristic algorithms, this study improves the running process of the algorithm so that it can lock the optimal path in the process of searching for a path at a very fast speed. In addition, a prioritisation strategy is proposed for the problem of difficult coordination among multiple robots. The method has a large improvement in the coordinated operation between individual robots. Simulation tests show that the proposed method can coordinate multiple robots to avoid collisions, whilst effectively avoiding local minima and completing the task in the shortest possible time. Compared with other algorithms, the advantages of the improved SA are more obvious, and the path length obtained is about 10% shorter than other dynamic path planning algorithms, and the success rate can reach 100%.
