Economic dispatch of multi-microgrids considering flexible load based on distributed consensus algorithm

This paper investigates the economic dispatch (ED) problem of multi-microgrids considering the flexible loads based on distributed consensus algorithm. At first, based on the global interconnection of multi-microgrids, the structure topology diagram of distributed generator nodes is designed, and then the flexible load is considered as adjustable load and added into the fixed loads. Next, a multi-microgrids economic dispatch (MMED) model is constructed with the goal of minimizing the operating cost of the entire system. The proposed MMED model is a two-layer coordinated optimization model, with the power transmission cost between each microgrid as the multi-microgrids layer framework and the internal operating costs of a single microgrid as the sub-microgrid layer framework. The distributed consensus algorithm is designed to solve the MMED problem by considering the constraint conditions of each generator node. Finally, some examples are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. That is, when considering the total load demand changes from 1500 kW (example 1) to 1600 kW (example 2), the total generator power of three microgrids can correctly adapt to changes and meet load demands, this situation is the same with multi-period simulation (example 3), which is more general and applicable.

A Novel Power Quality Management Method of MGC Based on distributed consensus algorithm

A novel power quality management method of microgrid cluster based on distributed consensus algorithm is proposed in this paper. First of all, when power quality problems arise, converters with suitable positions and capacity can be selected for compensation by using the distributed consensus algorithm proposed in this paper, so as to realize power quality management of microgrid cluster. Further, when a converter in microgrid cluster cannot continue to participate in the task, other converters can be flexibly switched through the distributed consensus algorithm to ensure the continuity and stability of power supply and power quality management. Finally, the remaining capacity of each converter can be adjusted in real time through the distributed consensus algorithm proposed in this paper, which reduces the negative influence of the uneven capacity distribution caused by converter switching on the power quality in microgrid cluster. The results show that multiple converters of microgrid cluster can be effectively coordinated by adopting the power quality management method based on distributed consensus algorithm proposed in this paper, so that the comprehensive power quality management of microgrid cluster can be optimized. © 2025 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

A distributed coordinated consensus problem for multiple networked Euler-Lagrange systems is studied. The communication between agents is subject to time delays, unknown parameters and nonlinear inputs, but only with their states available for measurement. When the communication topology of the system is connected, an adaptive control algorithm with selfdelays and uncertainties is suggested to guarantee global full-state synchro-nization that the difference between the agent＇s positions and ve-locities asymptotically converges to zero. Moreover, the distributed sliding-mode law is given for chaotic systems with nonlinear inputs to compensate for the effects of nonlinearity. Finally, simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.

Power Compensation of Network Losses in a Microgrid With BESS by distributed consensus algorithm

In this article, by using distributed consensus algorithm, the power compensation problem of network losses in a microgrid is considered with battery energy storage systems (BESSs). At first, the battery storage unit (BSU) is assembled at each node to maintain the power supply demand balance of the microgrid, then the power constraint is considered, which demands each BSU must run between its upper and lower bounds, otherwise, the upper or lower bounds will be used to replace the real power of the BSU. In order to keep the power balance of microgrid when network losses exist, a novel distributed consensus algorithm is proposed to compensate the missing power through the discharging process of BSUs, and the state of charge (SOC) of BESS is also considered. Besides, the case of battery faults is also considered, where the minimum layout point constraint is presented to ensure the completely compensation of the whole transmission losses. Finally, the test results of IEEE 14-bus and IEEE 57-bus microgrid systems are provided to verify the effectiveness and validity of the proposed method, respectively.

In order to describe the interconnection among agents with multi-dimensional states, we generalize the notion of a graph Laplacian by extending the adjacency weights (or weighted interconnection coefficients) from scalars to matrices. More precisely, we use positive definite matrices to denote full multi-dimensional interconnections, while using nonnegative definite matrices to denote partial multi-dimensional interconnections. We prove that the generalized graph Laplacian inherits the spectral properties of the graph Laplacian. As an application, we use the generalized graph Laplacian to establish a distributed consensus algorithm for agents described by multi-dimensional integrators.

In this study, a consensus algorithm for multiple non-linear Euler-Lagrange systems is presented. This controller guarantees that all agents can reach a common state in the workspace. External disturbances acting on the system are included in the closed-loop stability analysis, and the input-to-state properties of the proposed controller are investigated based on the concept of input-to-state consensus. Moreover, the influence of structural uncertainty is further discussed on the basis of passivity theory. The robustness of the proposed consensus algorithm is then demonstrated in the presence of both external disturbances and structural uncertainty. Experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed consensus algorithm.

Economic dispatch problem (EDP) is an optimization problem, which aims at minimizing the total generation cost. On the other hand, with the development of smart grid, cyber network plays an important role in power system operation. However, time delays are nonnegligible in a communication system. In this paper, a fully distributed consensus algorithm is proposed for EDP firstly, the total power demand can be obtained by K-step average consensus algorithm. Then the impacts of time delays are discussed and the critical maximum allowable upper bounds are obtained. It should be pointed out that, even with time delays, the proposed algorithm can be used online because the total output power is equal to the total power demand all the time during the optimization process. Finally, several simulation cases are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed algorithm.

This paper deals with an output consensus problem of multiple agents and first presents a centralized algorithm for solving it by a model predictive control method based on linear matrix inequalities. It can be shown that the outputs of all the agents controlled by the presented method asymptotically converge to a common point, i.e., consensus point. Then two kinds of algorithms for solving the consensus problem in a decentralized way are presented by using primal and dual decomposition methods. In general, these algorithms require a large number of iterations, i.e., a large number of communications between agents. To cope with this communication burden, a method that can reduce the number of iterations and guarantee the convergence to a consensus point is proposed by exploiting the property that the primal and dual decomposition methods can give upper and lower bounds of the optimal value of the optimization problem to be solved. The numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this work, we design a distributed algorithm to detect coverage holes in sensor networks using the consensus algorithm. First, we provide an overview of the work done in consensus algorithm. We assume have no information on the position of the sensors and we work with the methods of algebraic topology to detect coverage holes. Then, we compare the performance of a centralized and a distributed detection and we show with simulations, the performance of our algorithm.

In this paper,the distributed consensus algorithm is proposed to solve the power compensation problem of transmission losses with energy storage systems in a *** to the transmission losses,the total power between electrical machines and loads may be not balanceable,the redundant or absent power must be used to charge or discharge the energy storage systems,which is vital to ensure the supply-demand balance in power *** paper proposes a distributed consensus algorithm for coordinating the energy storage systems to maintain the supply-demand balance,besides,the energy storage systems must be satisfied the relevant constrain ***,simulation results based on the IEEE 5-bus system are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
