This study focuses on the design of fixed-time consensus for first-order multi-agent systems with unknown inherent non-linear dynamics. A distributed control protocol, based on local information, is proposed to ensure the convergence of the tracking errors in finite time. Some conditions are derived to select the controller gains in order to obtain a prescribed convergence time regardless of the initial conditions. Simulations are performed to validate the theoretical results.

The next-generation dynamically-reconfigurable intelligent GMPLS-based WDM optical networks are expected to operate at extremely high data rates (40 Gbps or beyond) and will be used to carry voice, data, and various other multimedia applications. In these networks a signalling protocol (such as RSVP-TE), which is used to dynamically set up lightpaths, should not only be fast and efficient, but must also be scalable and should try to maximize the number of accepted connections at an acceptable level of control overhead. In this paper, we propose a fast and efficient segmented signalling protocol (SSP) based on a novel concept of intermediate destinations (IDs), for wavelength reservation in GMPLS/WDM optical networks. In SSP, as the route is divided into a number of smaller independent segments on which RSVP-TE runs simultaneously, it reduces the setup time. Simulation experiments on 10x10 grid network show that the proposed protocol is fast with respect to setup time, efficient in terms of average call acceptance ratio and resource utilization.

This paper presents a distributed control protocol for wavelength reservation in wide-area WDM all-optical networks. The protocol aims to establish wavelength-continuous lightpaths dynamically and efficiently so as to minimize the overall blocking probability at the cost of a nominal increase in control overhead. It uses forward reservation with immediate unlocking of unnecessary wavelengths at intermediate nodes to reduce the chance of blocking. Forward reservation is normally considered to be better than backward reservation from the point of view of set-up delay. Immediate unlock facility makes it more efficient in terms of blocking probability. We show through simulation that the protocol improves the success rate in connection establishment (considerably for low aggressiveness) without much incrementing the control overhead.

Analytical models are presented and shown to approximate adequately simulation results for average message queueing time, service time, and control frame round trip time on ring topology local area networks that use a PLAYTHROUGH protocol. PLAYTHROUGH is a data link layer medium access controlprotocol that uses a perpetually circulating control frame, source removed control messages, and destination removed data messages to achieve concurrent transfer of multiple messages of arbitrary length. The analytical predictions of data message service time and control frame round trip time are used in a queueing system model of average message waiting times versus throughput for this class of multiserver circuit-switched ring under assumptions of uniform and symmetric traffic and a shortest outbound distance first service discipline at each node. The analytical models are validated using simulation results. The analysis includes both the effects of competing traffic originating at other nodes on the ring and the effects of the medium access control mechanism overhead on the waiting times experienced by messages arriving at an arbitrarily chosen node i, modeled using a head of line M/G/1 priority queueing system. The analytical models and simulation results are used to compare briefly performance of PLAYTHROUGH rings and token rings.

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o řídicích protokolech využívaných v průmyslových aplikacích. Vysvětluje pojmy distribuovaný řídicí systém, řídicí protokol a zabývá se vlastnostmi, strukturami rámců a způsoby komunikace protokolů CAN, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-101 a DLMS.
