With the growing integration of distributed generations (DGs) and renewable energy sources, bipolar DC microgrids have attracted increased attention due to their high efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility. However, bipolar DC microgrids are susceptible to severe unbalanced voltage problems that threaten their safe and stable operation. To tackle this challenge, this paper introduces a distributed coordinated control strategy for unbalanced voltage regulation in bipolar DC microgrids featuring flexible ZIP loads. The proposed strategy comprises primary and secondary control mechanisms. The proposed control facilitates power distribution among DGs while maintaining the average bus voltage at its rated value. Meanwhile, the secondary control exploits the consensus theory and the relationship between bipolar voltages and the voltage unbalanced factor (v(hb)%), enabling convergence of v(hb)% across poles and maintaining of the average bus voltage at its rated value. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy, demonstrating its ability to effectively mitigate unbalanced voltage and enhance voltage stability in bipolar DC microgrids.

When a follower satellite is tracking the leader satellite, the communication delay will affect the tracking performance. To solve this problem, we build a dynamic model based on directed communication topology. Then we use neural network to obtain the real-time estimate of model uncertainties and external disturbances, and use adaptive control to compensate for residual effects. Based on nonsingular terminal sliding-mode control and neural network, we propose a finite-time control for the follower satellite to track the leader under the effect of communication delay. Lyapunov method is used to prove the finite-time stability. Simulation results are also provided to show the effectiveness of the control law.

In this paper, a hierarchical distributed coordinated control method is proposed based on the multi-agent system for dc ring-bus microgrids to improve the bus voltage performance. First, a two-level multi-agent system is built, where each first-level unit control agent is associated with a distributed energy resource to implement local decentralized control, and the second-level control agent is associated with the first-level agent to implement distributed coordination control together with the first-level agent. Afterward, the assessment index of each distributed energy resource subsystem is established. By the assessment index, the multi-agent system can judge whether the subsystem should implement the local decentralized control or the distributed coordinated control. Furthermore, by means of the assessment index, both the local controller and distributed coordinated controller are designed, respectively, based on two kinds of dynamic models of DER unit. To reduce the communication pressure, the distributed coordinated controller is built by local controller combined with the coordinated control laws. The coordinated control laws are synthesized by using the states from only neighboring subsystems. Considering the effect of communication delays on control performance, a delay-dependent H infinity robust control method is proposed to design the distributed coordinated controller. Finally, the validity of the proposed control scheme is testified by simulation results.

This paper focuses on a multiagent-based distributed coordinated control for radial dc microgrid considering transmission time delays. First, a two-level multiagent system is constructed, where local control is formulated based on local states and executed by means of the first-level agent, and distributed coordinated control law is formulated based on wide-area information and executed by means of the secondary-level agent in order to improve the voltage control performances. Afterward, the research mainly focuses on designing the local controller and the distributed coordinated controller. For the purpose of robust stability, the local control is designed as local state-feedback-based H-infinity robust controller. It is worth mentioning that the distributed coordinated control consists of local state feedback control and decoupling coordinated control law that only come from adjacent distributed energy resource units. Moreover, the distributed coordinated controller is designed by means of delay-dependent H-infinity robust control method taking into account transmission time delays. Finally, the validity of the proposed control scheme is demonstrated by means of simulation results.

A Multiagent-Based Consensus Algorithm for distributed coordinated control of distributed Generators in the Energy Internet

With the bidirectional power flow provided by the Energy Internet, various methods are promoted to improve and increase the energy utilization between Energy Internet and main grid (MG). This paper proposes a novel distributed coordinated controller combined with a multiagent-based consensus algorithm, which is applied to distributed generators in the Energy Internet. Then, the decomposed tasks, models, and information flow of the proposed method are analyzed. The proposed coordinated controller installed between the Energy Internet and MG keeps voltage angles and amplitudes consensus, while providing accurate power-sharing and minimizing circulating currents. Finally, the Energy Internet can be integrated into the MG seamlessly if necessary. Hence, the Energy Internet can be operated as a spinning reserve system. Simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed controller in an Energy Internet.

This paper considers the distributed coordinated control problem of multiple autonomous underwater vehicles with a time-varying reference trajectory. Each vehicle is subject to model uncertainty and time-varying ocean disturbances. A new predictor-based neural dynamic surface control design approach is proposed to develop distributed adaptive node controllers, under which synchronization between vehicles can be reached under the condition that the augmented graph induced by the vehicles and the reference trajectory contains a spanning tree. The prediction errors are used to update the neural adaptive laws, which enables fast identifying the vehicle dynamics without excessive knowledge of their dynamical models. The stability properties of the closed-loop network are established via Lyapunov analysis. Simulation results demonstrate the performance improvement of the proposed control strategy.

For multiple spacecrafts under the communication topology containing a spanning tree with the leader as the root, we investigate a distributed coordinated attitude regulation control problem of the spacecraft with unknown time-varying uncertainties and state-dependent disturbances. Aiming at solving the practical problem that the information of the leader may be only available to a subset of the followers, a novel class of distributed finite-time leaders' state observer for each follower is proposed. Meanwhile, a new self-adjustment matrix is designed to reduce the overshoot of the system. In addition, an adaptive compensation term is designed to reject the impact of the time-varying inertia uncertainties and external state-dependent and state-independent disturbances. On the basis of the distributed finite-time observer, the self-adjustment matrix and the adaptive law, two distributed coordinated attitude regulation control laws are designed. With the first controller, the coordinated attitude regulation system is stable asymptotically, and with the second controller, the system is bounded stable. Both distributed coordinated attitude regulation controllers can guarantee that the follower spacecraft can track a common time-varying trajectory of the leader. Numerical simulation examples validate the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.

The traditional centralized control method hardly meets the coordination control demand for multi-microgrid (MMG), due to the conflict between the individual interests of a single microgrid (MG) and the global interests of MMG. In this study, a distributed coordination control method that integrates potential game (PG) and reinforcement learning (RL) is proposed to achieve balance of interests of an MMG. The proposed method fully exploits the distributed characteristic of the PG by considering each MG as an agent. It also establishes a PG-based distributed coordination control structure to maximize and balance the economy of single MG and overall MMG. Then, it combines the PG with the RL algorithm by the parameter transfer to obtain the optimal Nash equilibrium (NE) solution and improve the optimization performance based on Q-learning algorithm. Eventually, a simulation model is performed in MATLAB to demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control method.

Microgrid is an effective means to achieve flexible management and control of distributed power sources. Compared with the traditional centralized secondary control mode, the distributed coordinated secondary control strategy has higher flexibility and reliability. A secondary voltage control strategy of isolated island microgrid for distributed multi-agent system is proposed. Think of distributed power as an agent in the system, and secondary voltage control is equivalent to the tracking synchronization problem of a multi-agent system. Based on linear state feedback, a distributed controller is designed, in which the output of the state estimator is used instead of the actual state of the system, and then the event trigger controller is used to update the system state. Using a certain communication network, each agent uses the information of local and adjacent agents to coordinate with each other to ensure that the voltage of the microgrid recovers the rated value, avoiding the dependence on the centralized controller. This control strategy allows agents to exchange information only at the moment of event triggering rather than continuous exchange in real time, reducing the amount of information exchanged for data and reducing the requirements for communication networks. The island microgrid test system was used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy. © 2023 IEEE.
