Graph has been a ubiquitous and essential data representation to model real world objects and their relationships. Today, large amounts of graph data have been generated by various applications. Graph summarization techniques are crucial in uncovering useful insights about the patterns hidden in the underlying data. However, all existing works in graph summarization are single-process solutions, and as a result cannot scale to large graphs. In this paper, we introduce three distributed graph summarization algorithms to address this problem. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithms can produce good quality summaries and scale well with increasing data sizes. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to study distributed graph summarization methods. Copyright 2014 ACM.

In 1967 the Department of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia (HANXAM) realized the need of a dataprocessing Center to provide information for management purposes. A Master Flan for KAttXAM Management Information System (MIS) development has beer, approved in 1973. As time goes by, a Master Plan may be improved. The decree of revision depends on the extent of the detailed design and the changes on environment. The introduction of database technology to replace file processing systems for effective application of PI3 affects the Master Plan. ^he thesis discusses the selection of the many database systems available. It is intended to supplement the current Master Plan but may affect the Taster Plan itself. The future information flow overview, throughout the entire department and its subordinates, can be used as a long term framework and guidance for the development which may improve support from and reduce future potential conflict with the MIS development of the Armed Forces.

This part of ISO/IEC 2382 is intended to facilitate international communication in distributed data processing. It presents, in two languages, terms and definitions of selected concepts relevant to the field of information technology and identifies relationships among the entries. In order to facilitate their translation into other languages, the definitions are drafted so as to avoid, as far as possible, any peculiarity attached to a language. This part of ISO/IEC 2382 defines concepts related to distributed data processing, and specially network elements and components, network topology, network architecture, and network functions and applications.

The exponential growth in data generated by satellites, radars, sensors, and analysis and reanalysis from model outputs for the hydrological domain requires efficient real-time data management and distribution mechanisms. This paper introduces HydroRTC, a web-based data transfer and communication library designed to accelerate large-scale data sharing and analysis. Leveraging next-generation web technologies like WebSockets, WebRTC and ***, the library enables seamless peer-to-peer sharing, smart data transmission, and large dataset streaming. Three primary scenarios are presented as use cases, demonstrating the potential of HydroRTC as server-to-peer with intelligent data scheduling and large data streaming, peer-to-peer data sharing, and peer-toserver for data exchange. HydroRTC offers a promising solution for collaborative infrastructures in the hydrological and environmental domain, allowing real-time and high-throughput data sharing and transfer for enhancing research efficiency and collaboration capabilities.

Within the framework of the PROMETHEUS PRO-ART project the VaMoRs system for driving on motorways has been developed at the UniBwM. It has been implemented in a van and meanwhile successfully tested on German Autobahnen. It can operate in either autonomous or copilot mode. Knowledge processing at the higher levels for the autonomous mode is presented here. It covers the dialogues between user and system, planning and monitoring of missions, situation representation, situation assessment, and behaviour decision. The higher levels are at present being integrated in the VaMoRs system; first results are presented.

To meet the demanding needs of nuclear power plant supervision, TRASYS 1 in close collaboration with TEE (TRACTEBEL Energy Engineering) have developed a new generation of computer systems, known as DIMOS. A first installation of DIMOS (involving 150.000 lines of ADA code for the application software) was completed in August 1991 at the nuclear power plant at Doel (Belgiím) and since this time has been ensuring the supervision of the production units 1 and 2. Apart from ADA 2 , including ADA tasking and messages passing, the major technological challenge was the choice of a distributed configuration including 15 computers around a double Ethernet LAN 3 , running either VAX/VMS 4 or VAXELN 5 . The design is post-partioned thus ensuring that the code is independant of the distribution. The structured analysis of the user requirements was performed using the YOURDON methodology. The general and detailed design were implemented under the strict application of the Hierarchical Object Oriented Design (HOOD 6 ) methodology. DIMOS was designed using a HOOO case tool from which the ADA code is generated.

Library consortia require automation systems that adequately address the following questions: Can the system support centralized and decentralized server configurations? Does the software’s architecture accommodate changing requirements? Does the system provide seamless behavior? Contends that the evolution of distributed enterprise computing technology has brought the library automation industry to a new realization that automation systems engineered with an n‐tiered client/server architecture will best meet the needs of library consortia. Standards‐based distributedprocessing is the key to the n‐tier client/server paradigm. While some technologies (i.e. UNIX) provide for a single standard on which to define distributedprocessing, only Microsoft’s Windows NT supports multiple standards. From Microsoft’s perspective, the Windows NT operating system is the middle tier of the n‐tier client/server environment. To truly exploit the middle tier, an application must utilize Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS). Native Windows NT automation systems utilizing MTS are best positioned for the future because MTS assumes an n‐tier architecture with the middle tier (or tiers) deployed on Windows NT Server. “Native” NT applications are built in and for Microsoft Windows NT. Library consortia considering a native Windows NT automation system should evaluate the system’s distributedprocessing capabilities to determine its applicability to their needs. Library consortia can test a vendor’s claim to scalable distributedprocessing by asking three questions: Is the software dependent on the type of data being used? Does the software support logical and physical separation (distribution)? Does the software require a systems‐shut down to perform database or application updates?

Application Development for the distributed Enterprise (ADDE) is a methodological set that supports design of distributed business processes and ICT systems. ADDE provides a guide, a repository and supporting software tools, an underlying meta-model based on UML, that may be used in developing further software tools, or adapting existing tools to work with the ADDE repository. The main principles that have driven the authors' approach to distributed system design are presented. These principles a re the focus on distribution issues, the separation of organisational and technical issues, the emphasis on the design process as a decision process, the notion of technological services and the method independence of the guidance. Following this, the guidance on the definition and planning of the application development will be introduced. A presentation of the guidance on distributed application design, as well as the concepts of macro and micro decisions follows. Finally the future work of the ADDE project will be outlined.

An Express - based Information Management System is presented as a kernel for integration of distributed heterogeneous systems in CIM. Concepts and instances shared by the integrated CIM components as well as administrative met-information is included in the Information System architecture. A discussion of the experimental results, weaknesses and benefits of our current implementation and limitations of the Express language is made in the framework of a prototype developed in the Esprit Project CIM-PLATO
