ExaRD: introducing a framework for empowerment of resource discovery to support distributed exascale computing systems with high consistency

In this paper, we introduced the framework to empowerment resource discovery units for supporting distributed exascale computing systems with high consistency. In addition to the execution of activities to find resources by ExaRD, this framework is able to manage and control the dynamic and interactive events in distributed exascale computing systems. For these reasons, the dynamic and interactive nature in distributed exascale computing systems is analyzed, based on which the impacts of the occurrence of the dynamic and interactive nature in computational processes on the functionality of ExaRD are examined. By analyzing the impacts of the dynamic and interactive concept on the functionality of ExaRD, decisions can be made for constituent elements of the ExaRD framework and its functionality. Using a two-dimensional framework of ExaRD to manage and control dynamic and interactive events in distributed exascale computing systems causes ExaRD to be able to be executed in traditional computing systems. This two-dimensional framework is also able to create responding structures outside of the computing system to respond to the necessities of the computational processes. The ExaRD framework redefines the functionalities function and generator space of RD. Our examination in terms of management framework indicated that this framework is able to manage and control dynamic and interactive events by 50 percent.

The nature of the scientific applications that need to be distributed exascale systems is in a way that both traditional and distributed exascale systems programs are required. As a result, the load balancer not only supports traditional mechanisms of the load balancer, but also these mechanisms should be empowered to support the states caused by the occurrence of events with a dynamic and interactive nature. In this paper, a mathematical model examines the traditional load balancer that is used in cluster and grid computing systems that should support which characteristics to manage the dynamic and interactive nature in processes and execution in distributed exascale computing systems. In cluster and grid systems that can support the specified characteristics in this article, in 60% of the cases, the load balancer can manage events with a dynamic and interactive nature and use the mathematical model as the load balancing mechanism.

In this article, the function used for the functionality of the resource discovery in the equilibrium state analysis for operation describing the functionality of the resource discovery is introduced based on previously defined patterns to respond to requests. By considering the existence or non-existence of the responding structure for the proposition that leads to activation of the resource discovery and considering the functional advantage of the resource discovery, after the occurrence of the dynamic and interactive event that influences the functionality of the resource discovery, this function presents a new pattern for the resource discovery. Results indicated that following the dynamic and interactive event that impacts the functionality of the resource discovery, in 60% of cases, the introduced function could provide a responding structure for the request based on a previously defined system.

New scientific and engineering programs by providing new parameters during the process execution are demanded distributed exascale computing systems. The dynamic and interactive nature of the process makes the system management element a dynamic model for managing computing activity. In this paper by analyzing the reasons for the dynamic and interactive requirements, a new model for process migration is represented. Adding parameters to the process migration definition makes the process migration be able to be used in the distributed exascale computing system.

This study investigates the influence of dynamic and interactive events on the functionality of resource discovery within distributed exascale systems. These events significantly impact resource discovery both before and after their occurrence. However, effectively analyzing these impacts is challenging due to the lack of a direct connection to the activator of resource discovery functionality. To address this challenge, we propose an innovative mechanism that establishes a connection structure defined by a wave vector, linking resource discovery functionality to its activator. This wave vector model is crucial in shaping resource discovery operations. It implements a searching system designed to create spatial dimensions, allowing resource discovery functionality to evaluate the impact of events on spatial generation within each searching system. This methodology facilitates a more effective analysis of events' roles in managing their effects while minimizing disruption to system elements. Our research results demonstrate the efficacy of our approach, revealing that the wave vector model positively influenced resource discovery functionality in an impressive 93% of dynamic and interactive events, thereby optimizing the execution of resource discovery activities. This high success rate provides reassurance about the reliability of our approach.

The next-generation exascale network integrated architecture (NGENIA-ES) is a project specifically designed to accomplish new levels of network and computing capabilities in support of global science collaborations through the development of a new class of intelligent, agile networked systems. Its path to success is built upon our ongoing developments in multiple areas, strong ties among our high energy physics, computer and network science, and engineering teams, and our close collaboration with key technology developers and providers deeply engaged in the national strategic computing initiative (NSCI). This paper describes the building of a new class of distributed systems, our work with the leadership computing facilities (LFCs), the use of software-defined networking (SDN) methods, and the use of data-driven methods for the scheduling and optimization of network resources. Sections I-III present the challenges of data-intensive research and the important ingredients of this ecosystem. Sections IV-VI describe some crucial elements of the foreseen solution and some of the progress so far. Sections VII-IX go into the details of orchestration, software-defined networking, and scheduling optimization. Finally, Section X talks about engagement and partnerships, and Section XI gives a summary. References are given at the end.
