Theory of high phase order conversion system i.e: six-phase transmission line has proved as an alternative to new line construction or voltage upgrading, the economic and technical viability of three to six phase conversion (termed high phase order conversion) of an existing double circuit line permitting about 73% more energy transmission without any change of the existing line tower, conductors and ROW area. Up to date there are many works done in this SPTL field reductions were only based on digital simulations and calculations. Tests on actual line settings and configuration which are needed during a study are challenges to researchers who have limited access to the lines. It will be more challenging especially reconfiguration exercises for HPO conversion of three phase to six phase system. This paper describes in the development of scaled down six phase transmission line (SPTL) model developed in the IVAT laboratory to serve the purpose of study of the steady state and transient behavior of high phase system.

Transmission line metamaterials based on composite right-left handed (CRLH) structures with pseudoperiodicity are proposed and analyzed experimentally. These metamaterials can be used in various microwave circuits to control not only amplitude but also phase responses of electromagnetic waves. Introducing some kinds of pseudoperiodicity can control phase responses of reflected waves, without affecting severely on electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) properties of periodic structures. Equivalent circuit approaches including distributed line sections are used to design non-periodic structures, resulting in an efficient design procedure. Pseudoperiodic design is also useful for homogenization of conventional metamaterials.

A J-shaped monopole antenna array with matching circuits of a slot transmission line was considered for the purpose of development of compact and thin antennas. The return loss was measured to be about more than 10 dB at UHF band. This performance can guarantee the specification of the digital broadcasting at UHF band, and besides, the size of this J-shaped monopole antenna array is reasonably small to be used for such applications because this antenna was made by 1.6mm-thickness dielectric substrate with an area of 91 mm x 62 mm. This antenna will be expected to play a key role for the mobile terminal device for the receiving the digital broadcasting.

A new FDTD method based on equivalent circuit models has been presented for the transient analysis of transmission lines with frequency-dependent parameters. In contrast to the RC-based algorithms, no convolution computation is required in the proposed method. The generalized two-port equivalent model makes it straightforward to combine transmission lines with arbitrary termination networks. The numerical example shows that more accurate results are obtained from the proposed method.

In this paper a new approach to design frequency triplers is introduced. The technique is based on the closed-form synthesis of distributed matching networks which synthesize the desired load values at fundamental, second and third harmonic frequencies. Then to validate the introduced approach an active frequency tripler is designed and the resulting performances are reported.

This paper proposed a performance simulation of a two-element, microstrip dipole array antenna for WLAN application. Simulation is done using two different simulation techniques, the circuit model (CM) derived from the transmission line model (TLM), and is compared with another simulation set using the Method of Moments (MoM). Both methods are simulated using Microwave Office. The basic microstrip dipole antenna is accurately modeled and the linear array structure is done by combining two basic units. Both simulation sets of MoM and CM are evaluated to determine their level of variation in terms of return loss (S u ), bandwidth and resonant frequency (f res ). The MoM designed for dipole antennas achieved the best return loss (S u ), bandwidth and resonant frequency f res ) at the desired frequency. The equivalent circuit proposed produced good return loss and comparable with simulation using MoMs. Details of the proposed antenna design and simulation results for 2.45 GHz WLAN band are presented and deliberated.

Novel circuit model and design method for miniature LTCC UWB bandpass filter were presented The filter prototype is simply composed with several semi-lumped elements (transmission lines and capacitors) for easy fabrication in L TCC process as size of 3.2x2.5x1.0mm3 and half-circuit synthesis was also proposed for transmission zero and reflecting poles discussions. Two parallel capacitors added on general chebysheve bandpass filter contributed two additional zeros to extend stop band in higher band The filter measurement agreed with the EM siumlation as expected and behaves an ultra wider 3dB bandwidth range from 3.1～10.6GHz with the insertion loss less than1.0 dB cross centre band and 20dB minimum of rejection on zeros. The wider stop band in higher band also achieved due to additional two zeros contribution in novel design.

An investigation on the feasibility of a biosensor based on split ring resonator (SRR) is reported in this paper. A two-pair SRR array is used for the biosensor device. The compact SRR composite is excited by a microstrip transmission line which can generate the quasi-TEM mode. The device showed sensitivity to the biosensing parameters of S 21 resonant frequency and loaded Q values, due to the coupling of nano-size biomaterials. The feasibility of and the applications for a biosensor based on based on SRRs are also briefly discussed.

The automatic control of the matching impedance in chip-to-chip interconnections is described. The proposed method is based on an optimization algorithm that uses the sign of error and the sign of the coupling branch current. A possible implementation of the system is described and computer simulations at the behavioral level are presented.

A novel ultra-wideband (UWB) microstrip-to-CPS (coplanar stripline) transition has been developed. This transition or balun structure has several attractive advantages such as good impedance transformation, compact size and wide bandwidth. After the parallel-coupled line section between the microstrip line and CPS is investigated under varied traversal dimensions, a wide transmitting band is well achieved with the emergence of two transmission poles. Next, such a single transition circuit is optimally designed to cover the whole UWB band (3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz). To verify the predicted results in experiment, the two back-to-back transitions with the same 50 Omega microstrip feed lines are fabricated and tested. Measured results exhibit the return loss close to 10.0 dB over a band from 3.5 GHz to 10.0 GHz.
