Summary form only given. The definition of the minimal and maximal values of wave resistance of a short-circuited irregular line of transfer on the set spectrum of a line is considered in the paper that will allow to apply various methods of optimization, imposing restrictions on a physical reliability of an irregular line of transfer. Settlement values of wave resistance difference are compared to the values received on deduced approximative formula.

There exist serious coupling effects between the ultra high voltage(UHV) double-circuit transmission lines. In spite of elucidating detailedly both the static and the electromagnetic coupling mechanisms, the impacts of the line transposition mode on the induced voltages and currents are analyzed via established equivalent circuit model. As a case study which incorporates UHV double-circuit lines to be built in east China, the induced voltage and current along the maintenance line under different conditions have been calculated through ATP-EMTP. Specifically, the influence of both the compensation factor and the neutral reactor value on the induced voltages along the maintenance line is investigated while shunt reactors are installed, which indicates that extremely high induced resonant overvoltage may potentially happen in some critical cases. The research results present useful reference for future construction of the UHV double-circuit transmission lines.

Various studies have been carried out to determine the origin, the development and the effects of very fast transients (VFT) in GIS-Busbars. To date few knowledge exists on how VFT propagate through a circuit breaker, when the interrupter itself is the source of the VFT. Further it is important to know if these VFT are able to affect the dielectric coordination of the interrupter. A numerical model approach is introduced which allows to investigate the VFT devolution within the circuit breaker. The model approach consists of representing the circuit breaker as a system of concatenated transmission lines. The model validation is done by measuring the S-parameters (frequency domain) and the step response (time domain) between different ports of the modeled item. Consequent application of the modeling principle led to a model which represents the electrical properties of the circuit breaker accurately up to a frequency of 1 GHz. The use of this model will help to understand the effects of VFT on the dielectric coordination of the circuit breaker and its dependencies of further elements e.g. grading capacitors or network elements.

Millimeter applications place heightened and unique requirements on circuit board laminates used as transmission lines or as antennas. Historically, applications were low volume. Materials were either adapted from standard or semi-standard products that were not ideal for millimeter wave or the materials that were military grade in nature. Recent growth of millimeter applications, such as ACC (adaptive cruise control) and side lane changing sensors for standard, high volume, affordably priced vehicles or commercial millimeter communication systems, has driven circuit board laminate fabricators to innovate materials. This paper explores advancements in millimeter wave circuit boards and the technical requirements placed on materials.

A new topology of balanced NL CRLH TL has been designed and then analysed, using hyperabrupt Schottky-varactor diodes as nonlinear element. The parallel resonators of the CRLH structures have been modelled by open-ended transmission lines, to overcome the biasing problems of the diodes. For a NL CRLH TL consisting of three identical cascaded cells, the numerical put into evidence the possibility the possibility to use it as frequency doubler (5 dB conversion losses) and short pulse generator (the width of the output pulse is two times shorter comparing to the pulse width of the equivalent input pulse).

To improve the bandwidth of the SIW, a planar ridged substrate-integrated waveguide (RSIW) with a center line of cylindrical posts is proposed. Theoretical design formulas are derived. The bandwidth is defined as between the cutoffs of TE 10 and TE 20 modes of the RSIW. The modes are made equivalent to those of a transmission line cavity, across the transverse plane, and the cavity is loaded by a ridge of capacitive posts. Good agreements are observed between the theoretical formulas and numerical simulations. A 37% bandwidth enhancement is achieved. Higher enhancement is possible.

For the high speed substrate design, the synchronization of the signals is one of the most important concerns. Time delay control methodologies that are based on high speed substrate design rules which include equalizing differences between the same group high speed transmission lines, maximizing time balance between different high speed transmission lines and balancing over all nets difference between every high speed transmission lines. In this paper, we consider approaches that include ground trace impacts, near by differential pairs, and reference ground plane edging to minimize the time delay between traveling signals through different high speed propagation paths. We also propose the design guidelines to minimize the time delay of signal paths. The rules are applied to high speed differential pair design FCBGA, and the time delay is controlled within 3 pico seconds.

A 60 GHz SiGe HBT chipset for high speed wireless communication systems has been developed. The functionalities of LNA, up-converter, down-converter and PA have been realized with good performance. Design strategy, achieved results and comparison with state-of-the-art work will be presented. The work proves that single chip integration of the whole 60 GHz RF-frond-end will be possible using silicon based technologies.

This paper reports the miniaturization of a microstrip 90 degree Coupler by substituting the quarter wave transmission lines employedInconventional 90 degree coupler with its equal circuits consisting of two oblique stubs and an inductor and capacitors. Reduction of the coupler to 27％ its size is reported *** coupler is designed at 1070MHz for using in even harmonic mixers of 3G mobile receivers. Furthermore,the coupler can accurately divide the input signal by two parts with the same power and 90 degree phase difference. Also,the reflection coefficient and the isolation are as good as conventional one and coupling procedure is better than it.

A miniaturized wideband Wilkinson Power Divider realized using OMMIC ED02AH Technology is presented. Simulation and optimization are accomplished by Advanced Design System (ADS). The final optimization results shows that it has a bandwidth of 76.5% (8.4 - 18.8 GHz), 1 dB insertion loss and good isolation (< -12 dB) between the output ports. The layout of the presented power divider is given, which shows that compacted size (0.75 × 0.45 mm 2 ) is achieved successfully.
