distributed processing in today's mobile multimedia devices requires efficient ways of inter-IC communication. This paper presents a hardware block allowing the host IC to have parallel asynchronous access to the resources of the target IC. The block targets mobile multimedia applications. It is composed of an asynchronous logic subsystem, configuration registers, a packer, 4 command/data FIFOs, 3 packer FIFOs, 8 Device Transaction Level (DTL) masters and a DTL slave. The block allows the target IC to be directly connected to a memory controller. The block supports 2D transfers, which improves performance and saves power for mobile video applications.

In view of the development and management needs of renewable energy generation companies in China, this paper proposes a remote integrated monitoring construction scheme for renewable energy power plants. By building a renewable energy production information management platform with three levels integration, together with using the object-oriented modeling technology, distributed processing technology and renewable energy operation cockpit technology, this scheme can realize remote centralized monitoring of renewable energy power plants, as well as sharing of various production data. Through the intelligent analysis of the equipment, this scheme can greatly reduce the overall operation cost of the renewable energy power plants. The project practice proves that the scheme can take into account the management requirements of renewable power generation companies and Power Grid Corp, and realize unified access and integrated monitoring of all kinds of power generation equipment in renewable power plants, which greatly improves the economy and intelligence level.

A detailed overview of one of the most widely used framworks for processing large datasets - Apache Hadoop - is presented, along with a recommendation for planning and deployment of such systems. The authors refers to the work of Y. Takefuji et al. (see ibid., vol.1, pp. 263-267, Sept. (1990)), which is concerned with the problem of RNA secondary structure prediction, and draws the reader's attention to his own model and experiments in training the neural networks on small tRNA subsequences. The author admits that Takefuji et al. outline an elegant way to map the problem onto neural architectures, but suggests that such mappings can be augmented with empirical knowledge (e.g., free energy values of base pairs and substructures) and the ability to learn. In their reply, Y. Takefuji and K.-C. Lee hold that the necessity of the learning capability for the RNA secondary structure prediction is questionable. They believe that the task is to build a robust parallel algorithm considering more thermodynamic properties in the model.
