Workflow composer and service registry for grid applications

Automatic composition of workflows from Web and Grid services is an important challenge in today's distributed applications. The system presented in this paper supports the user in composing an application workflow from existing Grid services. The flow composition system builds workflows on an abstract level with semantic and syntactic descriptions of services available on the Grid. Two main modules of the system are the flow composer and the distributed Grid service registry. We present motivation, the concept of the overall system architecture and the results of a feasibility study. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

This paper considers the possibilities for creating a trusted document management platform with a digital signature designed for mutual verification and recognition of documents generated in different jurisdictions and provided with a digital signature using various algorithms and keys. A method for reliable trusted storage, exchange, and verification of documents based on a trusted distributed registry using smart contracts and symmetric cryptographic algorithms is presented.

The article is devoted to the discussion of actual problems of introduction of blockchain technology in banking business, the solution of which determines the prospects of wide commercialization of these innovations. Commercial banks' interest in innovation is determined by the threat of steadily declining business profitability and a new competitive threat to traditional sources of income from new fin-technologies. Despite the active development of crypto-innovations (algorithms, platforms, crypto-currencies), the use of blockchain by banks in the financial sector is still very modest. Like most of the participants in this market, banks only carefully test computer technologies for managing a distributed ledger, and therefore objective barriers hindering progress in this area are of actual interest to specialists and researchers. The application of any innovative technology in the banking business depends on the successful compliance of new opportunities and time-tested requirements of consumers in the financial sector. In particular for the technology of the blockchain, just has not fully resolved key-problems of standardization, boundary identification, security and cyber-security, reliability of execution transaction, scalability of projects, etc. Here considered the main barriers, from the author's viewpoint, of implementation of the blockchain in the banking business, confirmed by the authoritative materials of centers for innovative financial technology.

The article suggested the combined method of monitoring of hazardous phenomena and predicting of hazardous processes and security of coastal infrastructure and providing of safety of human lives based on "fog computing", blockchain and Internet of Things. These modern information technologies use to connect the large number of various sensors using the new proprietary software operating system with mobile phones, processors and technology of analyzing messages of the local population in social net-works and media. These technologies could be used for decentralization of information processing and scheduling, providing system openness, reducing reaction time of the information systems and increasing reliability and scalability of the information systems. So, the suggested combined method could be used for new monitoring systems of hazardous phenomena, predicting of hazardous processes, security of coastal infrastructure and providing of safety of human lives. The main advantage of the method is using of existing information infrastructures as mobile networks and etc.

Due to the increased popularity of distributed registry technology applications on the Internet, each of which uses network resources in different ways, has different characteristics and service requirements, there are the problem of impact of this technology to the network characteristics and how does the technology affect the network. In this article, the authors introduce a definition of the term blockchain, describe the services implemented by this technology and its scope. The authors identify the main technical characteristics and their features associated with transfer of information through the network. The authors explain how does the blockchain technology work and block structure. The authors indicate basic features of the network required for guarantee quality of service during provision and transfer for different type of traffic, determine the network scheme working with blockchain transactions and the dependence of network characteristics on application parameters. Authors show different classes of traffic priority, based on the requirements and behavior of certain types of applications, allowing maximum flexibility in the transmission of user information.

A new approach to implementing 5G and next-generation networks by using the resource of a local cluster of the network infrastructure of the terahertz range with integrated reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (hereafter RIS) is proposed in the paper. The approach allows for ensuring communication reliability. A solution for using a distributed register for implementing a preventive handover mechanism when blocking in the terahertz range is presented. The novelty of the proposed method is an activating of the serial interaction mechanism and transmission of signals between several mobility and session management objects during the handover of user equipment in modern wireless networks. The main benefit proposed solution from the existing is that solution allows for eliminating the need for sequential processing of requests by multiple managed objects, especially when the network function must be selected from multiple candidates, and accordingly ensures the implementation of various services with ultra-low delays. © 2023 IEEE.

The system presented in this paper supports the user in composing the flow of distributed application from existing Grid services. The flow composition system builds workflows on an abstract level with semantic and syntactic description of services available in a Grid services registry. This paper presents concepts of an overall system architecture and it focuses on one of the two main modules of the system - the distributed Grid service registry.

The present article describes the behavioral model of blockchain services;their reliability is confirmed on the basis of experimental data. The authors identify the main technical characteristics and features associated with data transmission through the network. The authors determine the network scheme, working with blockchain transactions and the dependence of network characteristics on application parameters. They analyze the application of this model for the detection of the blockchain service and the possibility of the existing security mechanisms of this technology being evaded. Furthermore, the article offers recommendations for hiding the blockchain traffic profile to significantly complicate its identification in the data network.

Over the past decade, wireless communication technologies have developed significantly for intelligent applications in road transport. This paper provides an overview of telecommunications-based intelligent transport systems with a focus on ensuring system safety and resilience. In vehicle-to-everything, these problems are extremely acute due to the specifics of the operation of transport networks, which requires the use of special protection mechanisms. In this regard, it was decided to use blockchain as a system platform to support the needs of transport systems for secure information exchange. This paper describes the technological aspects of implementing blockchain technology in vehicle-to-network;the features of such technology are presented, as well as the features of their interaction. The authors considered various network characteristics and identified the parameters that have a primary impact on the operation of the vehicle-to-network (V2N) network when implementing the blockchain. In the paper, an experiment was carried out that showed the numerical characteristics for the allocation of resources on devices involved in organizing V2N communication and conclusions were drawn from the results of the study.

The present article introduces a definition of Blockchain, describes services implemented by this technology and the field of its application. The authors identify the main technical characteristics and their features associated with data transmission through the network. This article provides the operation principles of Blockchain technology and a block structure. The authors determine the network scheme working with blockchain transactions and the dependence of network characteristics on application parameters. The security aspects of data transmission within Blockchain technology are analyzed as well. The types of network attacks and Blockchain devices are listed in the article. In addition, the authors propose a Blockchain traffic identification model that allows discrediting the existing security mechanisms of this technology and makes services vulnerable to these attacks. Furthermore, the article offers recommendations on hiding the Blockchain traffic profile, which will significantly complicate its identification on the data network.
