A new fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) scheme is proposed to detect actuator and sensor simultaneous faults. The scheme is based on strong-tracking multiple-model Estimator (STMME) and uses distributed structure. Two STMMEs are used to detect actuator and sensor faults respectively, in which unknown failure parameters can be estimated as augmented state variables. Simulation is presented based on aero dynamics. The results show that the FDD scheme is effective in detecting and estimating single and simultaneous actuator and sensor faults.

Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) has been widely applied in passenger dedicated lines since the sixth speedup scheme for the railway in April2006. With the expansion of the operation scale, emergent faults happen to EMU frequently. For example, more than20faults occurred to CRH3in Wu Guang dedicated line which affects the traffic safety and the punctual operation of trains. In order to improve the trouble-shooting capacity of the EMU drivers and the effect of training, it's necessary to develop a high-speed EMU fault simulation and training system based on computer simulation technology.
On the basis of analyzing the latest domestic and foreign research results of the EMU driving simulator and its trouble-shooting simulation training system, a distributed simulation system is designed for CRH3-EMU with an extensible and maintainable structure of C/S based on Ethernet. According to the functions, the system is divided into four modules including server module, fault setting module, fault display module and trouble-shooting *** each module is described in details.
Using object-oriented method, the full software simulation is used for trouble-shooting training *** network communication environment with Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol is realized, and ADO is used to access the Database. The modules are developed under the developing environment of Visual Studio2005. Especially, the designs of virtual trouble-shooting platform with Measurement Studio and multi-thread synchronization between display interface module and communication module are introduced in the thesis. Finally, with the determining of the evaluation model, parameters and the weighting parameters, the trouble-shooting evaluation algorithm is proposed based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation.
