An autonomous and decentralized robot system, ACTRESS, is being developed as an intelligent robot system which can execute high level tasks. In this paper, the concept of ACTRESS is introduced, and the communication framework between robotic agents is proposed, which compose the robot system. A software simulation system is introduce, which simulates parallel behavior of robotic agents and communication between them is introduced. By using this system, it becomes possible to design preciously the communication framework and to analyze the parallel behavior by robotic agents Finally. Taking a task of pushing objects by multiple mobile robots in a certain working environment as a case study of ACTRESS, optimal distribution of the functions is verified based on communication evaluation.

This paper describes the development of a conceptual framework for distributed decision making system for strategic management. The system is based on a general, high-level organization - a network of decision making centers (DMCs). One of the goals of this paper is to develop the problem solving (using knowledge based systems) and communication techniques that support the loosely-coupled network. DMCs need to cooperate in order to solve the distributed problem of strategic management for complex enterprises. The problem of strategic management for complex enterprises is well-suited to ses. The problem of strategic management for complex enterprises is well-suited to a network approach because it can relatively easy be decompose to a set of interdependent subproblems (this arises because of functional distribution of authority and responsibilities, data, knowledge and processing capabilities). The paper points out issues identified in the development process that might be of interest to those currently experimenting with such systems.

KyotoDB-I is a computer-aided environment to support software requirements engineering. It consists of user interface, a set of tools and object environment which manages, interprets and stores a set of objects each of which represents (1) model/view of one individual software configuration item, (2) plan (process program) to elaborate this software configuration item and (3) relations between data in one model/view and data in other model/view. The user interface includes the function called collaborator which supports collaboration. A collaboration is defined as an activity of KyotoDB-I to organize a common session in many workstations, and enables project members to talk one another through individual workstations and to result consistent software configuration items with using the set of objects stated above.
