The performance of space time block code (STBC) pulse position modulation-time hopping (PPM-TH) ultra-wide band (UWB) systems with doublebinaryturbo coding is analyzed and simulated in multi-user environments. The channel model is considered as a modified Saleh and Valenzuela (SV) model which was suggested as a UWB indoor channel model by the IEEE ***3a in July 2003. In order to apply the STBC scheme to the UWB system considered in this paper, the Alamouti algorithm for real-valued signals is employed because UWB signals with the pulse modulation have the type of real signal constellation. The system performance is evaluated in terms of bit error probability. From the simulation results, it is demonstrated that the doublebinaryturbo coding technique offers considerable coding gain with reasonable encoding and decoding complexity. Also, it is demonstrated that the performance of the STBC-UWB system can be substantially improved by increasing the number of iterations in the decoding process for a fixed code rate. Also, it is confirmed that the doublebinaryturbo coding and STBC schemes are very effective in increasing the number of simultaneous users for a given bit error probability requirement. The results of this paper can be applied to implement the down-link of the PPM-TH UWB system.

In this paper, we analyze and simulate performance of space time block coded (STBC) binary pulse amplitude modulation-direct sequence (BPAM-DS) ultra-wideband (UWB) systems with double binary turbo code in indoor environments. The indoor wireless channel is modeled as a modified Saleh and Valenzuela (SV) channel, which is proposed as a UWB indoor channel model by IEEE 802.15. SG3a. From simulation results, it is shown that the STBC scheme does not have an influence on improving bit error probability performance of the PAM-DS UWB systems. A novel low bit rate video transmission scheme is proposed for the communication of scalable video bitstream over wireless channel. The schema consists of motion compensated t + 2D wavelet decomposition scalable coder and double binary turbo code. doublebinarycodes were used for protection since they perform better than classical turbocoders in terms of better convergence for iterative decoding, a large minimum distance and computational cost. An efficient method to estimate the minimum distance of double binary turbo codes Is also proposed. The best packet length are evaluated by measuring the minimum distance of turbo ocode to adopt the scalable bitstream with unequal error protection. Simulation results show that the unequal error protection is quite efficient, even in very adverse conditions, and it clearly outperforms simple FEC techniques.

Today, the improved wireless communication technique for increasing demand for the next generation communication system is developed variously to transmit a long distance and high data. Visible light communication (VLC) system uses radiated light of LEDs. However, VLC have weak points which deteriorate performance of communication. Because there is multi-path fading that occurs propagation delay by interior walls or other things in indoor environments. In this paper, we propose both turbocodes to mitigate interference at the transmitter and orthogonal frequency multiplexing (OFDM) to provide high speed data transmission. The encoding and decoding of the proposed system are described and simulation results are analyzed.
