A mathematical bit error rate (BER) model for upsets in memories protected by error-correcting codes (ECCs) and scrubbing is derived. This model is compared with expected upset rates for sub-100-nm SRAM memories in space environments. Because sub-100-nm SRAM memory cells can be upset by a critical charge (Q(crit)) of 1.1 fC or less, they may exhibit significantly higher upset rates than those reported in earlier technologies. Because of this, single-bit-correcting ECCs may become impractical due to memory scrubbing rate limitations. The overhead needed for protecting memories with a triple-bit-correcting ECC is examined relative to an approximate 2X '' process generation '' scaling penalty in area, speed, and power.

This study provides the performance of a turbo-coded rotating polarization wave in Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh fading wireless communication channels. To test the robustness of the system under changing channel circumstances we compute the Frame error Rate (FER) over a range of Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNRs) using MATLAB simulations. We show that, in comparison to uncoded systems, the turbo-coded system with rotating polarization wave greatly enhances error correcting capabilities. More precisely, for three polarization states (Np=3) and five polarization states (Np=5), a 2.2 dB improvement in FER is noted in the condition of Rayleigh fading. These results show that using several polarization states lessen the negative consequences of channel impairments. The better error correction performance emphasizes how Turbo-coded rotational polarization can be used in contemporary wireless communication systems to provide more dependability and robustness. The capabilities of the system are thoroughly analyzed in this work, which paves the way for further study and useful applications in the area of Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN).

Wavelet based multicarrier systems have attracted the attention of the researchers over the past few years to replace the conventional OFDM systems in the next generation communication systems. In this paper we have investigated the performance of such wavelet based systems using forward error correction with covolutional coding and interleaving in a Wavelet-SISO system and then in a Wavelet multicarrier modulation (WMCM) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system using Convolutional coding and beamforming to reduce the source bit rate and overall system error and increase the data rate. Results show outstanding Bit error Rate vs. Signal to Noise Ratio Performance. Other than better performance the proposed systems keep the computational burden off the receiver that has more cost and power constraints.

Impulse-radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) transmission has recently become popular for data communications. In the new IEEE 802.15.4a standard, IR-UWB modulation is mated with a concatenated coding scheme consisting of a Reed-Solomon and a convolutional encoder. While most of the available literature has been dedicated to the study of uncoded IR-UWB transmission, this paper is concerned with the performance analysis for IEEE 802.15.4a compliant concatenated coded IR-UWB systems. In particular, a semi-analytical error-rate expressions for coherent RAKE detection with suboptimal multipath combining is presented. While first a single-user channel is assumed, in the second part of this paper this analysis is extended to include the effect of IR-UWB multiple access interference. To this end, a Gilbert-Elliot-type Markov interference model is adapted to the IEEE 802.15.4a modulation format.

In order to improve anti-jamming capability and transmission efficiency of the inductive setter, a structured approach to construct several low density parity check(LDPC) codes is used in this paper. The LDPC codes have different error-correcting capability, and can timely correct BER which are generated during the transmission of channel. The simulation analysis show that the LDPC codes can effectively avoid retransmission of the codeword, and raise the Induction Setter anti-jamming capability and transmission efficiency. The method of LDPC codes used in the inductive setting can ensure the control information efficiently load to the fuse.

An efficient signal processing scheme is proposed for the heated-dot magnetic recording (HDMR) system with double-layered bit-patterned media (BPM). This scheme assumes to be applicable to a HDMR system with total areal density of up to 5.0 Tdpsi. It is cleared that the error rate performance of this HDMR system with double-layered BPM shows significant improvement over the performance of the HDMR system with single-layered BPM by computer simulation.

It is well-known that a biometric fuzzy vault can be constructed by applying an error correcting code (ECC) to a biometric signal. This is attractive because authentication only requires the check bits of the ECC to be stored on the access control device, whereas the personal biometric traits need not be stored. For a given coding rate, the ECC attempts to correct the errors between an enrollment biometric and the provided probe, and authenticates if it is successful in doing so. Unfortunately, most implementations of biometric fuzzy vaults have very poor robustness to the inherent noisiness of biometric measurements. In this paper, we provide ECC design considerations for secure biometric systems, which provide both better robustness and greater security. In particular, for any feature extraction algorithm, we propose to reorder the feature bits according to their reliability, and associate the reliable bits with high-degree variable nodes in the graph of the ECC. Further, the reliability of a bit is measured at enrollment and used to initialize the ECC decoding. Experiments on an extensive database show considerable reduction in the false reject rate, while restricting the successful attack rate to a very low value.

The analysis of the (7, 4) binary hamming coding and decoding algorithm in wireless communications with C language programming was given and the verification testing was implemented on a HD 111 communication principle platform. The theory result was in consistent with that of the experiment. It shows that (7, 4) binary hamming coding could rectify one error symbol which would emerge in the signal transmission process and the decoding is easily to be brought about.

Compared to traditional storage media, DNA possesses several advantages;however, it is prone to errors in its base sequence during the storage process. When employing traditional error correction coding algorithms for DNA storage, a substantial number of redundant bases are added to ensure lossless data recovery. This approach results in significant base consumption and is ill-suited for scenarios with extreme error cases. To address these issues, this paper proposes the Direct Transpose Interleaving Code (DTIC), which uses data interleaving technology to distribute potential errors in a sequence across multiple sequences. DTIC can be used in conjunction with traditional error correction coding algorithms to enhance data recovery capabilities. Through theoretical analysis and simulation experiments, this paper demonstrates that lossless data recovery necessitates fewer redundant bases with DTIC processing compared to data without DTIC processing.

For error-correction codes, the optimal coding rate can vary and depend on factors including channel, time-varying fading, environmental interference, power, bandwidth allocation, communication content, and application. Rate adaptive coding schemes are thus important for robust communications. This writeup proposes and studies a rate adaptive low density parity check (LDPC) coding scheme using non-binary Galois fields (GF). The algorithm uses a single low complexity encoding structure, but maintains strong near-capacity performance at arbitrary rational rates. The rate adaptive encoder can be used in a space-time code for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems and is shown to achieve near capacity performance at various rates and different MIMO configurations.
