In this paper, we have proposed a new algorithm considering commutation error and feedback effect to enhance the convergence rate and noise reduction efficiency of ANC controller. In order to improve noise reduction performance of the ANC headset with fixed-point dsp, we'have proposed a new FxLMS algorithm, FxLMS CF, which considers the commutation error and feedback. Also, using a non-real-time simulation, we have decided the phase and amplitude compensation factors of anti-noise signal considering round-off and quantization error, nonlinear distortion and delay of analog device. We estimated the phase and amplitude compensation factors by simulation without using any special measuring devices or analysis devices, and reduced the broadband noise by 24 dB. This paper presents an efficient active noise control (ANC) system using a fixed-point dsp. The proposed controller uses magnitude and phase compensation to eliminate the errors associated with the nonlinear distortion of analog devices in the ANC system, and hence, to improve the noise reduction performance. The quantization and rounding errors associated with the fixed-point dsp are also compensated for. Several ANC experiments reveal that the proposed controller reduces broadband noise by about 20 dB and narrowband noise by about 45 dB. In this paper, we provide an overview of a new immersive, cost-effective stereo echo canceller that we have developed recently. To achieve immersive stereo hands-free communication, we expanded the frequency range from 0.1-7 kHz to 0.1-20 kHz and revised the echo reduction processing. To achieve a cost-effective canceller, we revised the adaptive algorithm to reduce the required memory and implemented the entire signal processing in a single fixed-point digital signal processor (dsp). The experiments indicate that the new stereo echo canceller delivers near-end speech and background sound more naturally under the double-talk situation.

This paper presents a versatile and portable digital signal processing (dsp) platform that is highly suitable for learning embedded signal processing anywhere and anytime. This dsp platform is based on the Texas Instruments VC5505 eZdsp USB Stick. We outline some of the important features in this development tool, such as the internal fast Fourier transform (FFT) hardware accelerator and the programmable high-speed codec that can be used in learning real-time embedded signal processing. This portable and easy-to-use platform extends the real-time dsp activities beyond the traditional laboratory environment. We highlight some project examples that used this platform.

Position sensorless and smooth torque control for a commercially available squirrel cage synchronous reluctance machine is presented. Especially for traction applications (such as EV's) steady state and transient operations are of interest and a minimized torque ripple operation in any arbitrary mode is desired. The control method should be suited for fast acceleration and step changes in load. In the second part of this paper encoderless position estimation for a cage synchronous reluctance machine using high frequency carrier signal injection is shown. The estimation accuracy and dynamic properties in particular at low speed have been investigated. Experimental results of a robust position estimation with a 4kW SyncRM are given.

In this paper the application of the synergetic approach theory to the control synthesis for axial-flux permanent-magnet (AFPM) motor drives is presented. Many examples of high dynamic applications for AFPM motor drives can be found in aerospace and robotic fields, also in hybrid electric vehicles interest for this kind of electric drive is growing. Such kind of applications requires speed controllers providing accuracy and high performance which linear control approach very hardly can satisty. The most critical disadvantage of linear control is related to the specific design associated to operation near a specific operating point. Synergetic control tries to overcome mentioned problem of linear control by explicitly using a model of the system for control synthesis;in this case the whole non-linear drive dynamics are considered in the control synthesis. A fixed-point 16-bits dsp with suitable cost/performances ratio has been chosen as calculus platform for the implementation of the proposed synergetic control laws;and, for experimental activity purposes, an axial-flux permanent-magnet machine already present in the laboratory has been used.

At present, most oscillators of the radar transmitter are magnetron because of its simple and convenience. However, because of the instability of frequency, it is difficult to meet the requirement of the modern Doppler radar. In this paper, we employ the least square method to realize the real-time measurement of the radar transmission frequency, and make the magnetron meet the requirement of the modern Doppler radar. We implement the algorithm in the fixed-point dsp TMS320C5402 and MATLAB, and compare the two results, which prove that the accuracy of the least square algorithm realized in dsp meets the requirement of projects.
