This paper considers the fixed-time synchronization of multi-weighted complex networks (MWCNs) with /without coupling delays. Firstly, the problems of fixed-time average synchronization are solved for the MWCNs model without delays. A corresponding synchronization criterion is proposed as well. Secondly, the issues of fixed-time tracking synchronization of MWCNs with coupling delays are discussed. Some sufficient conditions are given to ensure the considered system achieve the synchronization goal. Thirdly, in contrast to the traditional fixed-time synchronization strategies containing many nonlinear control terms (Hu et al. in Neural Netw 89:74-83, 2017;Chen et al. in Neural Netw 123:412-419, 2020;Yang et al. in IEEE Trans Autom Control 62(11):5511-5521, 2017;Zhang et al. in IEEE Trans Cybern 49(8):3099-3104, 2018;Xu et al. in J Franklin Inst 355(1):164-176, 2018;Liu et al. in IEEE Trans Cybern 49(6):2398-2403, 2018), the new designed control protocols only contain fewer terms, which are economical just as claimed in Li et al. (IEEE Trans Cybern, 2020). Finally, two numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of proposed design.

This paper focuses on the dynamical characteristics of complex-valued memristor-based BAM neural network (CVMBAMNN) with leakage time-varying delay. With two different controllers, we have obtained fixedtime and finite-time synchronization criteria respectively in complex domain for our special model, which few work has studied before. Since fixed-time synchronous system can improve communication security, we designed a scheme for RGB image encryption and decryption. In order to satisfy the requirement of much lower error in image secure communication, our approach can get the error of fixed-time synchronization to about 1x10(-)13. Due to our highly consistent system, we do get good encryption and decryption effect with encryption and decryption scheme. Finally, numerical simulations are included to demonstrate the correctness of our theoretical results.

In this paper, fixed-time synchronization (Fix-TS) of fuzzy neutral-type bidirectional associative memory memristive-inertial neural networks (FNT-BAM-MINNs) with proportional delays is investigated by non-reduced order method. First, a new lemma is proposed to solve the parameter mismatch of FNT-BAM-MINNs on the basis of differential inclusion theories and analysis methods. Second, the delay-dependent switched controller and the delay-dependent fuzzy switched controller are designed to reach the Fix-TS of the drive response FNT-BAM-MINNs, respectively. Based on fixed-time stability theory, inequality techniques and the new lemma, some delay-independent sufficient conditions are given to guarantee the Fix-TS of FNT-BAM-MINNs, which are easy to implement in practice. Furthermore, the settling time independent of the initial value is estimated. Finally, numerical examples indicate that our results are effective. (c) 2021 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

In this brief, we investigate the fixed-time synchronization of competitive neural networks with multiple time scales. These neural networks play an important role in visual processing, pattern recognition, neural computing, and so on. Our main contribution is the design of a novel synchronizing controller, which does not depend on the ratio between the fast and slow time scales. This feature makes the controller easy to implement since it is designed through well-posed algebraic conditions (i.e., even when the ratio between the time scales goes to 0, the controller gain is well defined and does not go to infinity). Last but not least, the closed-loop dynamics is characterized by a high convergence speed with a settling time which is upper bounded, and the bound is independent of the initial conditions. A numerical simulation illustrates our results and emphasizes their effectiveness.

In this paper, the fixed-time synchronization for complex-valued bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks with time delays is studied. Based on the fixed-time stability, the Lyapunov functional method and some inequality techniques, a new criterion is presented to guarantee that the addressed systems achieve synchronization in fixed time and a more accurate estimation independent of the initial conditions is given for the settling time. Meanwhile, a new nonlinear delayed controller different from the existing ones is designed. In the end, two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained result.

This paper investigates the fixed-time synchronization of complex networks (CNs) with nonidentical nodes and stochastic noise perturbations. By designing new controllers, constructing Lyapunov functions and using the properties of Weiner process, different synchronization criteria are derived according to whether the node systems in the CNs or the goal system satisfies the corresponding conditions. Moreover, the role of the designed controllers is analyzed in great detail by constructing a suitable comparison system and a new method is presented to estimate the settling time by utilizing the comparison system. Results of this paper can be applied to both directed and undirected weighted networks. Numerical simulations are offered to verify the effectiveness of our new results. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. This paper is concerned with the global fixed-time synchronization issue for semi-Markovian jumping neural networks with time-varying delays. A novel state-feedback controller, which includes integral terms and time-varying delay terms, is designed to realize the fixed-time synchronization goal between the drive system and the response system. By applying the Lyapunov functional approach and matrix inequality analysis technique, the fixed-time synchronization conditions are addressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed control scheme and the validity of theoretical results.

In this paper, the fixed-time synchronization issue of complex networks under stochastic fluctuations and impulsive effects is studied. First, a novel lemma for the fixed-time stability of nonlinear impulsive system with stochastic perturbations is given. Different from some early published works in which the comparative system technique was used to explore the stability of impulsive systems, the settling time is estimated based on direct calculation approach, which end up more accurate settling time estimation. Then, with the help of this lemma, a simple continuous control protocol is designed and some sufficient conditions for the fixed-time synchronization of the complex networks are given by employing the inequality technique and Lyapunov function method. At the end, two examples are given to verify the validity of obtained theoretical results.

A new sliding mode control strategy is offered for achieving fixed-time synchronization in complex networks that incorporate time delays. A new sliding mode controller is offered, and its effectiveness in achieving synchronization is demonstrated using Lyapunov stability theory. This approach ensures synchronization throughout both the sliding phase and the arrival phase. Lastly, a numerical example is offered to substantiate the utility of the proposed strategy.

Based on the classical Chua's circuit, a chaotic circuit is constructed including double magnetron memristors. To study the fixed-time synchronization problem about the fifth-order memristor chaotic systems, a sliding-mode surface is proposed firstly. Then, a suitable controller is devised by using the sliding-mode control method. The sliding-mode surface is reached, then the stability on the surface also can be achieved within a fixed time thereafter. Moreover, the settling time for system synchronization is estimated, and numerical simulations confirm the correctness of the theory.
