Topology Identification for Networked Piecewise-smooth Systems With Multiple Weight Couplings Based a Novel fixed-time synchronization Approach

This article investigates the identification and fixed-time synchronization (FxTs) for a complex network with piecewise-smooth(PWS) nonlinear functions and multiple weight couplings. Firstly, a new fixed-time stability principle is constructed based a time-varying fixed-time inequality. And a novel time-varying semi-intermittent controller is designed whose time-varying gains remains positive and bounded when averaged over a specific time period. Secondly, the fixed-time synchronization is realized by the designed controller based on non-smooth analysis and the Lyapunov stability theorem. In addition, the uncertain topology is identified successfully via the proposed topology observer. Finally, the Chua's circuit, as a simulation example, is provided to check the validity of the theoretical results and the effectiveness of proposed control method.

New fixed-time stability criterion and fixed-time synchronization of neural networks via non-chattering control

Based on the framework of Filippov solution, a non-chattering controller is presented to realize the fixed-time (FXT) stability for a nonlinear system with the discontinuous activation function. First, a novel FXT stability criterion is established through the reduction to absurdity, and the settling time is estimated. Then, by building two controllers without chattering, sufficient conditions are obtained to ensure the FXT synchronization of the drive-response system. Moreover, compared with the existing results, the FXT obtained here is less conservative and more accurate. Finally, the validity of the proposed methods is provided by two numerical examples.

This paper is devoted to studying the finite-time and fixed-time of inertial Cohen-Grossberg type neural networks (ICGNNs) with time varying delays. First, by constructing a proper variable substitution, the original (ICGNNs) can be rewritten as first-order differential system. Second, by utilizing feedback controllers and constructing suitable Lyapunov functionals, several new sufficient conditions guaranteeing the finite-time and the fixed-time synchronization of ICGNNs with time varying delays are obtained based on different finite-time synchronization analysis techniques. The obtained sufficient conditions are simple and easy to verify. Numerical simulations are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

In this article, it addresses the problem of finite-/fixed-time synchronization of delayed coupled discontinuous neural networks in the unified framework. To achieve the finite-/fixed-time synchronization and precise estimations of setting time, two novel different kinds of controllers are established, in which one is switching. Then, based on the finite-/fixed-time theorem and Lyapunov function theory, some useful criteria are obtained to select suitable controllers' parameters, which can guarantee error systems converge in the finite time/fixed time with respect to coupled neural networks. Moreover, corresponding estimations of the setting time are also provided. Finally, two numerical examples are introduced to show the effectiveness of the proposed control protocols.

This paper investigates finite-time (FET) and fixed-time (FDT) synchronization of discontinuous complex networks (CNs) via quantized controllers. These control schemes can take full advantage of limited communication resources. By designing Lyapunov function and using different control schemes, several sufficient conditions are proposed such that the dynamical CNs are able to realize synchronization within a settling time. The settling time is related to the initial values of the considered systems using FET control, while it is regardless of the initial values when a special case of FET control named FDT control is utilized. Moreover, FET and FDT synchronization of discontinuous CNs are also considered via some existing controllers without logarithmic quantization, respectively. Numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the theoretical results.

This paper aims to investigate the synchronization control of a class of discontinuous fuzzy Cohen-Grossberg neural networks (DFCGNNs) with uncertain external perturbations and mixed time delays (discrete and distributed time-delays). By using functional differential inclusions theory, inequality technique and the non-smooth analysis of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, a simple switching adaptive control is designed and some new criteria are obtained to achieve the finite-time synchronization of the proposed drive-response systems. Besides, the upper bound of the settling time is estimated. Based on the finite-time synchronization, we further present a novel discontinuous state-feedback controller to the response neural system in order to derive the fixed-time synchronization criteria and estimate the settling time. Compared with the previous results which can only fixed-timely synchronize or finite-timely synchronize some simple delayed fuzzy neural network systems with continuous activation functions and without uncertain external perturbations, the DFCGNNs with uncertain external perturbations and mixed time delays addressed and the theoretical results of this paper are more generalized and inclusive. Finally, several simulation examples and remarks are provided to verify the correctness and advantages of the main results. (c) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A General Approach to fixed-time synchronization Problem for Fractional-Order Multidimension-Valued Fuzzy Neural Networks Based on Memristor

In this article, a general approach to fixed-time synchronization problem is investigated for the general system of fractional-order multidimension-valued fuzzy memristive neural networks. First, we complete the establishment of the new model which is so general that we can regard it as fractional-order real-valued fuzzy memristive neural networks, fractional-order complex-valued fuzzy memristive neural networks, and fractional-order quaternion-valued fuzzy memristive neural networks. Then, we mainly apply two new general inequalities such as extended Cauchy-Schwarz inequality and generalized derivative of fractional-order absolute value function in order to realize the general analysis on the discussed problem. Owing to the two new lemmas, we can construct the general Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional with adjustable coefficients, design the nonlinear controllers with fuzzy gains, as well as acquire the flexible criteria with several useful factors. Particularly, the acquisition of the less conservative fixed time benefits from the new controllers which not only contains the common feedback gains but also can be comprised of the general coefficients and the fuzzy gains. Finally, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate our theoretical results.

This paper is devoted to the global exponential and fixed-time synchronization of delayed reaction-diffusion Cohen-Grossberg neural networks. Adaptive controllers are designed such that the addressed system can realize global exponential synchronization goal under the framework of inequality techniques, Lyapunov method as well as some suitable assumptions. Furthermore, as corollaries, the corresponding conclusion is provided to ensure the delayed Cohen-Grossberg neural networks without reaction-diffusion term can reach fixed-time synchronization goal. In addition, the settling time of fixed-time synchronization can be adjusted to desired values regardless of initial conditions, which is more reasonable. A fixed-time synchronization-based secure communication scheme for two-layer hybrid coupled networks

This literature mainly investigates the fixed-time synchronization-based secure communication issue with two-layer hybrid coupled networks, which consist of multitudinous subnets with different trans mittal time-delays. By the application of appropriate cluster strategy, the subnets, in both transmitter and receiver, make up several matched subnet-pairs (encryption/encryption units). The nodes may behave different dynamics in different subnet-pairs but identical ones in the same subnet-pair. Similar to the block encryption method, every matched subnet-pair is merely in charge a portion of information encryption/decryption. Many encryption/encryption units working simultaneously can manifest the intricate characteristics of nodes and increase the encryption/decryption rate. fixed-time synchronization is applied, which means that the time for information encryption/decryption is computable. Moreover, the chaos message, generated by a chaotic system, is taken as a key array, the key space will be enlarged with node-size at transmitter. With the design of some suitable chattering-free feedback controllers, a simple fixed-time synchronization-based secure communication scheme is given and the effectiveness is proved. This scheme shows not only good performance with regard to the complexity of key arrays and timeliness but also excellent robustness to the effect of time-delays.
