Study Design: Retrospective evaluation of prospectively collected data. Objective: Analyzing time course and stages of interbody fusion of a uniformly operated cohort, defining a grading system and establishing diagnosis-dependent periods of bone healing. Methods: Sequential lateral radiographs of 238 patients (313 levels) with interbody fusion operated thoracoscopically were analyzed. Results: Evaluation of 1696 radiographs with a mean follow-up of 65.19 months and average numbers of 5.42 (2-18) images per level was performed. Diagnoses were Pyogenic Spondylitis (74), Fracture (96), Ankylosing Spondylitis (38) and Degenerative Disease (105). No case with Grade 2 deteriorated to Grade 5. On average, Grade 4 persisted for 113 days, Grade 3 for 197 days, Grade 2 for 286 days and Grade 1 for 316 days. The first 95% of levels ("Green Zone", <= Grade 2) fused at 1 year, the remaining 4% levels fused between 12 and 17 months ("Yellow Zone") and the last 1% ("Red Zone") fused after 510 days. Conclusion: Sequential lateral radiographs permit evaluation of interbody fusion. Grade 2 is the threshold point for fusion;once accomplished, failure is unlikely. If fusion (Grade 2,1 or 0) is not reached within 510 days, it should be regarded as failed. The 510-day-threshold could reduce the necessity of CT scanning for assessing fusion.

Super-resolution mapping of urban flood (SMUF) is one of the hotspots in remote sensing and urban environment research. In this letter, a new SMUF method based on the fusion of support vector machine and general regression neural network (FSVMGRNN) was proposed to achieve enhanced performance. An SVM-SMUF algorithm was developed and a fusion criterion was formulated. Then, the FSVMGRNN-SMUF algorithm was developed. The results of FSVMGRNN-SMUF were evaluated using Landsat 8 OLI imagery of two representative cities in China. FSVMGRNN-SMUF yielded the most accurate SMUF results among the five SMUF methods according to visual comparisons and quantitative comparisons. The mapping accuracy of FSVMGRNN-SMUF related to the kernel functions was also analyzed and discussed. The results of this letter will help to boost practical applications of median-low resolution remote sensing images in urban flooding mapping, and to strengthen the means for monitoring and assessing urban flooding disasters.

The image details and contour information cannot be fully reflected for the current infrared single-band data. It is difficult for the weak-small target to resist background interference after imaging, so that the image produces a lower signal to noise ratio. Therefore, it is necessary to use the texture difference of different band data to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the image through the complementary fusion method. In this paper, based on weak-small targets in infrared images under different backgrounds, the paper proposes a fusion method based on contrast and wavelet transform. Firstly, the source images are denoised, and multiscale two-dimensional decomposition are performed to obtain low-frequency component and high-frequency component. On this basis, the high- frequency component adopt the method of maximizing absolute value, and the low-frequency component use the method of weighted averaging. Then the image is reconstructed. Finally, the reconstructed image is fused by gray contrast modulation. The fusion results are compared with many fusion algorithms. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the intensity of weak- small targets and easily identify weak-small targets in the image. It solves the background interference problem of weak-small targets in the image.

The objective of image fusion is to combine information from different source images of the same scene to achieve a new image which can provide much more visual information than the source images. This paper proposes a new image fusion method using image black segment. According to the contrast of block, the original images are separated into clear part, blurring part and the part between clear part and blurring one. For the clear part and blurring one, the former is selected as the corresponding block of fusion image. The part between clear part and blurring one is fused by the choice of the corresponding pixel based on the contrast. Simulation results show that the method achieved better fusion effect.

Connected vehicles are equipped with sensors that can detect surrounding objects. However, vehicles perception is limited by sensors range or by the presence of other obstacles. Collective perception can improve vehicles perception by allowing them to exchange information about detected obstacles. In this context, vehicles rely on on-board sensors in order to generate Collective Perception Messages (CPM) that are exchanged by means of LTE-V2X connectivity. In order to reveal hidden obstacles and obtain a coherent visualization about the environment, CPM fusion is then crucial. In this work, we propose a novel low complexity fusion algorithm for CPM. Moreover, we evaluate the impact of LTE-V2X connectivity performance, specially in terms of packets loss, on the fusion. Simulation results in a smart junction demonstrate the relevance and efficiency of our algorithm in terms of obstacles detection capabilities.

In this paper a fuzzy method for data fusion is proposes. First, the admission function is defined to measure the consistency of the sensors' information. Simultaneously, the fuzzy measure is adopted for measuring the reliability of the sensors group which contributes to the final result. Thus, the final result is the combination of the compatible data provided by the more reliable sensors team. This method not only deal with the conflict between the sensors' information and the transaction information provided by faulty sensor, but also assure the reliability and accuracy of the final fusion result. Finally, the simulation results show the method is satisfactory.
