Stacked multi-layer security for Hadoop distributed file system using HSCT steganography

Big data needs to have scalable storage platforms as well as parallel processing environments. Hadoop is preferable because it is an open-source software which works in a distributed, parallel processing environment and no need of any special hardware. In recent developments of Hadoop, security was introduced as optional. A symmetric block cipher advanced encryption standard (AES) is used for encryption. A 128 MB block of data needs 8 million encryptions. A better way of hiding the data from unauthorized access is preferable. Steganography, a more contemporary security technology than cryptography, is the art and science of hiding subconscious information in hidden item while exposing opponents their existence. The cover is an image, and the secret information may be a photo, music, video, or text. A double layer hexcode substituted-color space transformed (HSCT) steganography with 3 band splitting of data ensures confidentiality of the data and one time pad key generated with client's ID provides authentication also. Considering the volume of data, steganography concept is much faster than AES or any other cipher. Hiding the data inside the random images will indulge in fast reconstruction of data when needed for processing using either MapReduce or tools like spark.

Underwater wireless sensor network (UWSN) is established in water bodies such as oceans, seas and rivers to observe the activity of military, to perform rescue operations and to do mining activity of resources. The sensor nodes communicate through acoustic channels. These nodes have limited battery life (energy), narrow bandwidth and a channel is incurred with delays and noise posing security thrust. The art of work presented different routing protocols in this era to utilize energy and bandwidth efficiently with less delay and to provide the security against black hole attack. However, these methods do not show an appropriate enhancement in the security and to utilize the bandwidth efficiently due to mobile environment. As a result of which, the delay also increases. In this paper a secured and bandwidth utilization path is enhanced using Bellman Inora hex Hamming technique (BIHH), which not only improves the performance of the routing but also saves the energy. The presented approach is validated with network simulator.

In every corner of the globe, nations want to improve the monitoring mechanism of the country, so that no one can enter their territory in an unwanted manner easily. Well-known equipment, called Radar, is commonly used for monitoring. However, only a small amount of work is done to monitor multiple moving targets in the presence of Doppler. This important issue diverts the attention of the research community away from working on this platform. In the present literature, the merit factor (MF) is improved by increasing the amplitude of the main lobe. However, these particular approaches did not attach more importance to the effects of noise side peaks of fast moving targets. The drawback of noise peaks masks slow-moving targets and cannot be clearly seen by the radar receiver. As a result it reduces the performance of the Doppler radar system. In this paper, an approach is presented which not only improves multiple moving target detection, but also reduces the energy of code generation. This approach is simple and effective in detecting multiple moving targets at the desired Doppler. The presented technique is called Improved Target Detection in Doppler Tolerant Radar Using a Modified hex Coding Technique. MATLAB is used to formalize the results by simulation.

BHQRSM: Binary hex Quadratic Residue Security Model to Enhance the Trust in MANETs

Mobile adhoc network (MANET) possesses various security challenges mainly due to its varying network topology. As central coordination is not possible in MANETs, sharing of keys between nodes is a difficult task. In this paper, we present a Binary hex Quadratic Residue Security Model that does not require any kind of key distribution between the nodes in MANETs. We use a stream of equal weighted hex codes of decimal numbers and Ex-OR operations to generate a security vector which facilitates matching of code words and also determine the active and malicious nodes in the network. Our approach also saves energy as it requires less computational analysis when compared to existing approaches. We validate our approach through simulations results.
