A sequential least squares algorithm for ARMAX dynamic network identification

identification of dynamic networks in prediction error setting often requires the solution of a non-convex optimization problem, which can be difficult to solve especially for large-scale systems. Focusing on ARMAX models of dynamic networks, we instead employ a method based on a sequence of least-squares steps. For single-input single-output models, we show that the method is equivalent to the recently developed Weighted Null Space Fitting, and, drawing from the analysis of that method, we conjecture that the proposed method is both consistent as well as asymptotically efficient under suitable assumptions. Simulations indicate that the sequential least squares estimates can be of high quality even for short data sets. © 2018

Aiming at the problem of plugging and positioning identification in the process of automatic charging of electric vehicles, especially the difficult problem of low efficiency and accuracy of identification in complex operation environment, this article proposes a multi-algorithm fusion of electric vehicle charging port identification method, which can effectively obtain the characteristic information of the round hole of charging port and realize the purpose of automatic identification of charging port by robot. Firstly, an electric vehicle charging port in a complex environment is analyzed and simulated, and camera selection and calibration are explained;on this basis, algorithms based on image smoothing filtering, feature detection segmentation of ROI region, improved Canny edge detection and combined mathematical morphology are proposed to correlate the charging port image respectively, and the features of the target charging port jack are extracted. Finally, the experimental verification of the charging port identification method was conducted for different illumination intensities and different shooting distances. The experimental results show that the identification success rate is 93.3% under the weak illumination and 97.8% under the normal illumination intensity of 4000lx. This shows that the method can effectively improve the robustness and accuracy of the charging port identification.

Robustness of the algorithm of identification of the Type of Dynamic Object Found at the Finite Sequence of 2D Background Frames of the Optoelectron Device

Here are proposed robustness characteristics of the algorithm of identification of the type of the dynamic object (DO) and the law of probability distribution of identification sufficient statistics, formed by the algorithm under prior uncertainty. The law is applied for verification and validation of the algorithm. Wavelet fractal correlation algorithm (WFCA) implements vectorial criterion of ratio of likelihood functions of simple alternative hypotheses-types of DOs, this criterion being invariant to specific features of DO motion trajectories. The likelihood functions are reconstructed by simulation according to sufficiently representative complexes of implementations of fractal dimensions, energies, wavelet spectra and maximum eigenvalues of biased correlation matrices as functional of the measured coordinates of spatial attitude of various types of real DOs located by the optoelectron device (OED). The simulation proved robustness and high efficiency of the algorithm of identification of the type of DOs.

Online identification algorithms for integrated dielectric electroactive polymer sensors and self-sensing concepts

Transducers based on dielectric electroactive polymers (DEAP) use electrostatic pressure to convert electric energy into strain energy or vice versa. Besides this, they are also designed for sensor applications in monitoring the actual stretch state on the basis of the deformation dependent capacitive-resistive behavior of the DEAP. In order to enable an efficient and proper closed loop control operation of these transducers, e.g. in positioning or energy harvesting applications, on the one hand, sensors based on DEAP material can be integrated into the transducers and evaluated externally, and on the other hand, the transducer itself can be used as a sensor, also in terms of self-sensing. For this purpose the characteristic electrical behavior of the transducer has to be evaluated in order to determine the mechanical state. Also, adequate online identification algorithms with sufficient accuracy and dynamics are required, independent from the sensor concept utilized, in order to determine the electrical DEAP parameters in real time. Therefore, in this contribution, algorithms are developed in the frequency domain for identifications of the capacitance as well as the electrode and polymer resistance of a DEAP, which are validated by measurements. These algorithms are designed for self-sensing applications, especially if the power electronics utilized is operated at a constant switching frequency, and parasitic harmonic oscillations are induced besides the desired DC value. These oscillations can be used for the online identification, so an additional superimposed excitation is no longer necessary. For this purpose a dual active bridge (DAB) is introduced to drive the DEAP transducer. The capabilities of the real-time identification algorithm in combination with the DAB are presented in detail and discussed, finally.

The contribution deals with the created algorithm for numeric solution of problems of optimal control with terminal criterion. Optimal control theorem and philosophy of gradient method is used for computation of increment of an objective function. It is showed, that the presented algorithm may be applied for seeking coefficients of system of differential equations, if this problem of coefficient identification is transformed into the task of optimal control with terminal criterion.

Information Security Protocol Based System identification with Binary-Valued Observations

Traditional control does not pay much attention to information security problems in system identification enough, which are important in practical applications. This paper focuses on the security problem of input information in a class of system identification problems with noise and binary-valued observations, presents a cryptography based security protocol, and improves it in the range of allowed errors. During solving the identification problem, the improved security protocol can ensure that the input information is not leaked, and thus, can deal with passive attacks effectively. Besides, a quantitative relationship among the input information, the public key in encryption and the number of partieipailts in the improved protocol is shown. Finally, the simulation results show that, the identification algorithm can still achieve the estimation accuracy by adding the improved security protocol. However, compared with the original identification algorithm, the time complexity of the algorithm with the improved security protocol increases.

Conformational coverage by a genetic algorithm: Saturation of conformational space

The molecular modeling is traditionally based on analysis of minimum energy conformers. Such simplifying assumptions could doom to failure the modeling studies given the significant variation of the geometric and electronic characteristics across the multitude of energetically reasonable conformers representing the molecules. Moreover, it has been found that the lowest energy conformers of chemicals are not necessarily the active ones with respect to various endpoints. Hence, the selection of active conformers appears to be as important as the selection of molecular descriptors in the modeling process. In this respect, we have developed effective tools for conformational analysis based on a genetic algorithm ( GA), published in J. Chem. Inf. Comput. Sci. ( 1994, 34, 234;1999, 39 ( 6), 997) and J. Chem. Inf. Model. ( 2005, 45 ( 2), 283). This paper presents a further improvement of the evolutionary algorithm for conformer generation minimizing the sensitivity of conformer distributions from the effect of smoothing parameter and improving the reproducibility of conformer distributions given the nondeterministic character of the genetic algorithm ( GA). The ultimate goal of the saturation is to represent the conformational space of chemicals with an optimal number of conformers providing a stable conformational distribution which cannot be further perturbed by the addition of new conformers. The generation of stable conformational distributions of chemicals by a limited number of conformers will improve the adequacy of the subsequent molecular modeling analysis. The impact of the saturation procedure on conformer distributions in a specific structural space is illustrated by selected examples. The effect of the procedure on similarity assessment between chemicals is discussed.

Two-channel control of three-phase inverters for distortion reduction

A new two-phase, independent control strategy for three-phase three-wire static inverters to reduce unbalance in output voltage is proposed. The three-phase voltage and current signals are processed by the ideal Clarke transform block to yield two single-phase signals, which contain information regarding unbalance and harmonics which may be present in the three-phase signals. If the two single-phase voltage signals could be controlled so that they become equal in magnitude with a phase shift of 90 degrees (ideal alpha beta signals), then the corresponding terminal three-phase voltage signals would become balanced. Single-phase observers are employed to control the fundamental components in the two identical d-q frames created. Simultaneously, when the harmonics are eliminated in the two single-phase channels, the corresponding three-phase voltage signals would become distortion free. Feed-forward compensation can be carried out using the equivalent series-impedance parameters, estimated on-line using a simple identification algorithm. This procedure is not sensitive to frequency and can take care of the voltage drop in the distribution transformer. The simulation and experimental results for a field programmable gate array (FPGA) controlled 60 V table top inverter fabricated in the laboratory are provided.

Prediction and identification of rotary axes error of non-orthogonal five-axis machine tool

This paper proposes an efficient and automated scheme to predict and identify the position and motion errors of rotary axes on a non-orthogonal five-axis machining centre using the double ball bar (DBB) system. Based on the Denavit-Hartenberg theory, a motion deviations model for the tilting rotary axis B and rotary C of a non-orthogonal five-axis NC machine tool is established, which considers tilting rotary axis B and rotary C static deviations and dynamic deviations that total 24. After analysing the mathematical expression of the motion deviations model, the QC20 double ball bar (DBB) from the Renishaw Company is used to measure and identify the motion errors of rotary axes B and C, and a measurement scheme is designed. With the measured results, the 24 geometric deviations of rotary axes B and C can be identified intuitively and efficiently. This method provides a reference for the error identification of the non-orthogonal five-axis NC machine tool. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
