Positive behaviour support in Irish residential services: Perspectives of frontline staff, management and clinicians on implementation challenges

BackgroundThe current study explored the perspectives of staff working with adults with intellectual disabilities and behaviours that challenge. We sought insight into their understanding of procedural fidelity and challenges faced when implementing behaviour *** interviewed 15 staff members supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in residential settings. Participants included five front-line staff, five residential managers, and five clinicians. Interviews were transcribed and thematic analysis *** identified by the participants related to four main themes: (1) Organisational and environmental constraints;(2) Understanding and monitoring of procedural fidelity;(3) Theory versus practice;(4) There's nothing positive about behaviour *** staff groups, lack of understanding of fidelity emerged, as well as minimal accountability regarding behaviour support. Front-line staff felt isolated and under pressure. Greater emphasis on partnership, practice leadership, and positive feedback may give front-line staff the support needed to use behavioural interventions with high fidelity.

Background Federal food assistance programs are working towards online grocery shopping. Online ordering in Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is emerging following successful implementation in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).Objective To identify anticipated challenges, potential solutions, and expected costs of WIC online *** Cross-sectional, mixed-methods, web-based, survey *** and setting Data were collected from December 2020 to January 2021. Purposeful and snowball sampling included WIC stakeholders involved in developing processes and systems required for WIC online ordering. Respondents represented diverse geographic areas, levels of intraorganizational authority, and WIC benefit card *** analyses performed The research team used a rapid analysis and lean coding approach to identify emergent themes from open-ended survey responses. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the distribution of responses across themes and stakeholder *** Respondents (n 1/4 145) described 812 anticipated challenges within 20 themes grouped into five topic areas: rules and regulations;shopping experience;security, confidentiality, fraud, and WIC State agency processes;training, assistance, and education;and equitable access and buy-in. Addressing anticipated regulatory issues were among the few concrete potential solutions described. Mapping of the Circular Economy implementation challenges in the Fashion Industry: a Fuzzy-TISM Analysis

The fashion industry creates a large amount of pollution, making it one of the least environmentally friendly industries in the world with an ever-growing adoption of the linear fashion system “take-make-dispose” that continues to exploit scarce natural resources and energy. This advocate shifting to a circular economy to achieve sustainable production and consumption. However, numerous challenges are faced when introducing the principles of circular economy, obstructing the system transition. The ten challenges identified from the literature include poor material and energy efficiency, poor circular design, technological challenges, regulatory pressures, internal stakeholders’ pressures, financial pressures, insufficient human capital, poor management and leadership, lack of external collaborations, and consumer-related challenges. This research aims to identify the level of significance of the challenges identified from the literature to assist top management with formulating a strategy. Decisions will be made and prioritised based on the key challenges to ensure a successful and effective implementation of the circular economy in the fashion industry. To achieve the aim of this research, seven experts within both the circular economy and fashion context are interviewed. Fuzzy Total Interpretive Structural Modelling (Fuzzy-TISM) is used to arrange the challenges into a hierarchy-based model and to illustrate the interrelationship between these challenges. Also, Fuzzy MICMAC analysis is used to map and rank these challenges depending on their driving and dependence power. Based on the findings, regulatory pressures and poor management and leadership are the key challenges with the highest significance level. Therefore, successful and effective implementation of a circular economy requires a change in managerial strategies. © 2023, The Author(s).

Overcoming implementation challenges through using a train-the-trainer approach to teach numeracy in a special school setting

PurposeThere is a sparsity of research that considers how to overcome implementation challenges for interventions in special school settings where specialist teaching methods are involved. Successful implementation has often relied on considerable researcher involvement, making them inaccessible and not sustainable for the majority of special schools. The purpose of this study was to implementa train-the-trainer approach to train teaching staff to use the Teaching Early Numeracy to Children with Developmental Disabilities (TEN-DD) programme in a large special school in the UK, thereby significantly reducing researcher involvement in its ***/methodology/approachOne staff member was trained to become the school lead for TEN-DD and trained other teaching staff in the school on implementation. This study recruited 13 students aged between 12 and 16 years of age with developmental disabilities to receive TEN-DD. Pre- and post-intervention tests on a standardised numeracy measure were *** train-the-trainer model was developed and successfully delivered to train teaching staff in TEN-DD. A standardised outcome measure indicated that ten students made improvements to their numeracy skills after teachers trained using this approach delivered TEN-DD for between 3 and 10 ***/valueVery little research has been carried out to better understand methods for overcoming implementation challenges for delivering evidence-based teaching programmes at scale to students with developmental disabilities who attend special schools. Promoting male participation in maternal healthcare in the Jaman North District in Ghana: Strategies and implementation challenges

Promoting male participation in maternal healthcare is essential for improved maternal health outcomes. This study explored existing strategies to promote male participation in maternal healthcare and assessed their implementation challenges within healthcare facilities in the Jaman North District in Ghana. A qualitative approach was implemented in April 2020. Interviews were administered to a stratified purposive sample of 18 respondents comprising six midwives and 12 male partners of postnatal mothers. All interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed, and manually analysed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed early service, male partner invitation, male partner incentivisation, public sensitization, and male informed education, as strategies to promote male participation in the district. The implementation of these strategies has been constrained by socio-cultural and health system factors, namely, perception of pregnancy as non-illness, perceived experiences gained by women during previous births, cultural stereotypes, unconducive environment of healthcare facilities, inappropriate timing of facility attendance and unexpected costs associated with male participation. Promoting male participation, therefore, requires dedicated policy attention to the existing socio-cultural and health system constraints. The Ghana Health Service and other stakeholders should consider both community-level and targeted sensitization on the benefits of male participation in maternal healthcare and a general improvement in maternal healthcare infrastructure.

Revolutionizing Pharma: Prioritizing Industry 4.0 implementation challenges in the Indian Pharmaceutical Landscape Through Analytical Hierarchy Process Analysis

PurposeThe manufacturing industry is changing quickly because of trends like automation and high-volume customization. Industry 4.0 is a movement towards digitization that incorporates cutting-edge technologies to improve consumer experiences and provide better control over production operations. The primary objective of this study is to identify and prioritize the significant obstacles hindering the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies within the Indian pharmaceutical *** multi-methodological approach was taken, consisting of the following steps: (1) creating a keyword string based on the PICO framework to collect pertinent literature;(2) using the Delphi technique to interview industry experts;and (3) using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to rank challenges by *** study identified and ranked fifteen critical obstacles that Indian pharmaceutical companies must overcome to implement Industry 4.0. The analysis revealed that 'lack of awareness' is the most significant *** awareness through focused education and industry engagement is crucial to realizing the impending of Industry 4.0.

Background: Medical laboratories play crucial roles in healthcare, and effective enterprise risk management (ERM) is necessary to ensure business continuity, patient safety, and quality of care. In medical laboratories, ERM is important for enhancing patient safety, regulatory compliance and accreditation, quality management, business continuity, and cyber security. By following ERM principles and approaches, the medical laboratories can proactively manage their risks, improve patient safety, and maintain a high level of quality and reliability of outcomes. However, implementing ERM in medical laboratories faces unique challenges. This study explored the specific challenges and offers practical solutions for overcoming them to ensure successful ERM implementation in Harare, Zimbabwe. Methodology: A cross-sectional survey was done through 41 self-administered questionnaires and interviews with medical laboratory staff from the six main medical laboratories in Harare. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 22. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages. Qualitative data were analyzed using mean scores of Likert scale responses. Results: The main challenges identified in the study included increased workload, staffing, organizational structures, timeliness of information, inadequate information technology support, and insufficient financial support in ERM. These can be addressed by portfolio management of risks, leveraging on cutting edge technology, restructuring to ensure swift responses to issues and redistributing staff workload, and training personnel to avoid burnouts and ensure maximum efficiency. Conclusion: Implementing ERM in medical laboratories requires understanding and addressing these challenges. Fisheries co-management in hilsa shad sanctuaries of Bangladesh: Early experiences and implementation challenges

Community-based fisheries management has long been practiced in the management of the inland fisheries of Bangladesh. However, formal coastal co-management has only been implemented recently in hilsa shad (Tenualosa ilisha) sanctuaries. The study analysed the pre-implementation processes, institutional arrangements, implementation activities, as well as challenges for fisheries co-management that are currently being implemented in the Padma-Meghna riverine-estuarine system. As a first step in establishing a co-management system in hilsa shad sanctuaries, communities (both fishing villages and fish landing centres) were selected for interventions. Co-management committees were formed from the community-village to district level with the defined tasks of developing plans and programs, implementing management rules and regulations, monitoring compliance, and creating awareness in a cost-effective manner among various stakeholders. Still, the operationalization of co-management in this large riverine-estuarine system is a challenging task. To overcome these challenges, several issues had to be considered through lessons learned from previously implemented community-based fisheries management projects in Bangladesh. To ensure that fisheries co-management is functional, the institutional framework needs to be flexible with support from local government institutions and NGOs. The boundary of the management unit needs to be clearly defined and community-based organization also needs a clear legal status. To make co-management sustainable, a relationship of trust and respect among co-management partners needs to be developed and maintained. The effective implementation of fisheries co-management will require an inclusive compensation scheme that will motivate stakeholders to comply and maintain fisheries management efforts through collective action.
