Recently, visible light communication (VLC) has been widely used in indoor positioning, which has such advantages as cost-saving, environmentally friendly, anti-radio frequency interference (anti-RF-interference) and so on. Considering that existing VLC-based indoor positioning systems suffer from such obstacles as blur effects and shield effects, a precise robust positioning method using improved Continuously Adaptive Meanshift (camshift) tracking algorithm is proposed to locate the positioning terminal. The improved camshift algorithm is used to track the region of interest (ROI) of the LED to improve the robustness of the visible light positioning (VLP) system. Classical camshiftalgorithm build an one-dimensional histogram with Hue component from HSV (hue, saturation, value) color space, which may cause tracking failure when illumination variation or similar color interferes occur. Therefore, the proposed algorithm utilizes hue and saturation components from HSV space to build 2-Dimensional (2-D) color feature histogram. The H and S components of the HSV are combined with the camshiftalgorithm to improve tracking accuracy and robustness. What is more, even most parts of light-emitting diode (LED) are shielded or broken, high-precision tracking can still be achieved by recognizing the color features and local detection regardless of shape change, thereby ensuring the positioning robustness. Furtherly, shield effects and background interferences are introduced to simulate actual positioning scenes. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can provide an average accuracy of 0.95 cm and ensure that 90% of total tracking error is less than 1.79 cm, indicating that the LED tracking is so accurate that the positioning accuracy of the positioning algorithm is not affected by the tracking algorithm. Biomimetic robotic fish has the distinct advantage of efficient propulsion and high maneuverability over conventional underwater vehicles. This paper addresses the underwater target search issue in a free-swimming robotic fish with embedded vision. In particular, we use the stored original image to acquire the color characteristics of the target and propose an improved camshift algorithm based on the light intensity distribution to search the target in the captured image. Then the robotic fish is driven towards the identified target smoothly with the aid of bio-inspired Central Pattern Generator (CPG) control. All tracking algorithms are implemented in real time with a hybrid control system combining an embedded microprocessor (TI DM3730) and a microcontroller (ATmega128). Latest aquatic experiments demonstrate that a fairly good tracking effect is resulted and the interference caused by the mirror image effect is largely eliminated. The proposed technical scheme offers an alternative to target search in relatively complex underwater environments.

Aiming at the shortcomings of current various eye tracking methods, which would result in tracking error, with improved camshift algorithm, a rapid eye tracking method based on precise positioning iris is proposed. Firstly, the detector based on AdaBoost algorithm is used to position iris, and susan operator is used to eliminate the influence of eyeballlike factors. Secondly, with the template of iris region and analysis of the feature of object and noise's saturation, the improved camshift algorithm based on feature fusion is used for rapid eye tacking. Allowing for the case of deformation to the target, a custom criterion is used to judge and predict center again according to its historical trajectory at the same time. Lastly, the experiment results show that this method can precisely track iris, with low error rate, its accuracy has reached more than 96% even for turning left, turning right and other conditions, and there is little difference between the position of iris estimated by tracking and its actual center;rapid speed, draw tracking time is 7.0ms and iterations are 1.6 times per frame, which are both lower than other methods, it meets the requirements of accuracy, robustness and real-time.

Fisheye lens has been applied more and more in the digital video surveillance system because of large field of view, but the fish eye image is distortion greatly which restricted its further application. According to the characteristics distortion of circular fisheye image, this paper studied an improvedcamshift object detection algorithm and applied to the moving object tracking and detection in the fisheye surveillance system. Firstly, the principle of the Meanshift algorithm was discussed, and then the camshiftalgorithm which based on the Meanshift algorithm was studied. Lastly, the improvedalgorithm of camshift was designed which based on the camshiftalgorithm and the characteristics of the fisheye image, and validity of the algorithm by calculation. The experiment results shows that the improved camshift algorithm can detecting and tracking the moving object in fisheye image stabilization and effective, whether it is in the middle position or on the edge with compression seriously. It has a very good application in the intelligent and nothing blind-zone surveillance system.
