3D Garment Design Based on Component Library and interactive genetic algorithm

With the rapid development of economy and technologies in our country, the production of clothing has changed a lot. The type and quantity of the fashion design have a large range of growth, and among them, 3D garment design has attracted people's attention. Based on this, 3D garment design based on component library and interactive genetic algorithm and its evaluation were studied in this paper. First of all, the data structure and generation of garment parts are introduced;then, coding based on component pointers were introduced;finally, the process of 3D garment design based on component library and interactive genetic algorithm was introduced in detail. The test results show that the application of 3D garment method based on component library and interactive genetic algorithm is more practical and reasonable.

Multi-stage interactive genetic algorithm for collaborative product customization

Products are becoming increasingly more complex and intelligent, which requires users to participate in the design process in order to meet customer demands and enhance market competition. interactive genetic algorithm (IGA) can effectively solve the optimization problem. However, the challenge still remains for IGA to ameliorate user fatigue and reduce the noise in the process of evolution. To address the issue, a multi-stage interactive genetic algorithm (MS-IGA) is proposed, which divides the large population of the traditional interactive genetic algorithm (TIGA) into several stages according to different functional requirements. The proposed MS-IGA is then applied to the car console conceptual design system, to better capture the knowledge of users' personalized requirements and accomplish the product design. This is especially important in the field of complex product configuration design, such as in cars, personal computers, smart phones and the like. Through the users' graphic interface, customers separately evaluate product design at every different stage of its evolution, which makes the proposed algorithm more directional than the TIGA. We also introduce genetic sense units, which represent different functional modules, in order to realize the customers' collaborative design. The extensive experimental results are provided to demonstrate that our proposed algorithm is correct and efficient according to the efficiency test, convergence analysis and fatigue test for application of the product design system, including car interior and other modular product. Generally, investor has his/her own preference toward risk and return. To develop a decision support system, it should be designed to reflect the investor's preference structure. An interactive genetic algorithm (iGA) is an advanced genetic algorithm method that reflect the decision maker's subjective preference *** propose a method for supporting investor's judgement based on portfolio optimization using iGA that present the best compromised solution set that satisfy Pareto optimality and investor's subjective preference structures toward risk and/or return. We develop a system that present investment plan for the investors and show an example to apply the system to the real world problems.

In this research a new android app for smartphones to smartly resize images is presented. The smart image resize method was based on a dynamic programming approach that used image edge tangent flow as the energy function to be minimized, known as flow-guided seam carving method. However, a simple but useful interface is needed in a mobile app. Therefore, we developed an interactive approach to image resizing by applying an interactive genetic algorithm. After installing the developed app on the smartphone, we asked test participants to rate the results of this approach. The usability testing results showed that the average score of this approach is higher than that using a single operator.

This paper proposes an interactive genetic algorithm (IGA) integrated with multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) in development of a generative design system. IGA is used in initializing and handling single dimensionally qualitative objectives. MOGA is used in optimizing two quantitative objectives. Qualitative factors are considered as design objectives to be optimized together with quantitative criteria. The multi-objective optimization is regarded to concurrent handling of two quantitative criteria. Shape of product is modeled by parametric modeling with Rhinoceros and Grasshopper. IGA is processed using Galapagos in Grasshopper. Shape optimization of the product is processed by using MOGA in MATLAB and linked to Grasshopper. Pareto-optimal front is generated to show the optimal solutions, which is able to support designers in decision making. The perfume bottle design is used as an illustration of the proposed framework, but the framework is applicable to other design problems.

This study aims to propose an I Evolutionary Computation that creates sound contents for multiple users. Sound contents including music pieces and sign sounds are often used in our daily life for creating common atmosphere and transmitting a certain message to everyone. The proposed method is based on parallel distributed interactive genetic algorithm (IGA), which creates visual media contents commonly suited to multiple users. In this method, each of the users proceeds general IGA process by evaluating solution candidates of the IGA. As a special property of this method, in some generations, solution candidates are exchanged between the users. With the exchange, each of the users is affected by other users' feelings. It is expected that good solution evaluated as best solution by all of the users is obtained. Based on the concept of the proposed method, we constructed an IGA system for fundamentally investigating efficiencies of the proposed method. Aim of the IGA system is to create a short music melody commonly affording bright image. Key of the notes was treated as gene of IGA. Music chord progression called Canon chord is attached to the melody when it is presented to the subjects. 10 persons participated in the experiment as subjects. In the IGA system, two users participated in the evaluation process simultaneously. Experimental results showed almost continuous increase in mean and maximum fitness values between the subjects. To clarify the efficiency of the exchange of the proposed method, further study with comparing experiment including conditions with/without the exchange is needed.

Today, with increasing development of digital technologies and their use to promote and accelerate artistic production trends as well as decreasing utilization of manual and traditional methods, the use of computers has had a special place in fashion design. The present research seeks to design a fashion system utilizing a set of fabric patterns through the interactive genetic algorithm to produce artistic creativity and a set of clothes designs. First, clothes components, including top, crown, skirt, blouse, sleeve and shoes, and fabric patterns proportionate to each clothes component are designed and coded separately. This system combines clothes components and fabric pattern set, using the interactive genetic algorithm and laws based on fashion design. Then, fitness of the designs created is determined by the user and next generations are produced by this fitness and evolution principles so fashion design trend is performed by the user's opinion. The results of evolutions indicate system efficiency in fashion set design using a fabric pattern set at the least cost and shortest time according to user tastes.

Optimized image resizing using flow-guided seam carving and an interactive genetic algorithm

In this paper, we introduce a novel method for content-aware image resizing based on flow-guided seam carving. It extends the existing seam carving framework by replacing the conventional energy field with a "structure-aware" energy field that takes into account the feature orientations in the image. Guided by this new energy field, our approach excels in preserving (i.e., avoiding the distortion of) important structures in the image, such as shape boundaries. We also present a simple user interface to further optimize the resizing result based on the genetic selection process among multiple resizing operators such as scaling, cropping, and flow-guided seam carving. We show that such simple user interaction, coupled with the genetic algorithm, dramatically increases the chances of producing the user-desired outcome.

With significant impact on the personalized product configuration, interactive genetic algorithm is introduced to respond to customer requirement. For the user could conveniently design their favorite product and interact with the system by a graphical interface, the car console conceptual design system is established. And IGA based on hesitancy degree is proposed in this paper to reduce user's uncertainty or fuzzy feeling. By repeating the simulation experiment, the results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method in this paper.

In recent years, with the development of digital image techniques and digital albums in the Internet, the use of digital image retrieval process has increased dramatically. An image retrieval system is a computer system for browsing, searching and retrieving images from large databases of digital images. In order to increase the accuracy of image retrieval, a content-based image retrieval system(CBIR) based on interactive genetic algorithm (IGA) is proposed. Color, texture and edge have been the primitive low level image descriptors in content based image retrieval systems. In this paper we proposed a system that splits the retrieval process into two stages. In the query stage, the feature descriptors of a query image were extracted and then used to evaluate the similarity between the query image and those images in the database. In the evolution stage, the most relevant images were retrieved by using the IGA. IGA is employed to help the users identify the images that are most satisfied to the users' need. The experimental evaluation of the system is based on a 10000 WANG color image database. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach.
