Classification problem is an important and complex problem in machine learning. Support vector machine (SVM) has recently emerged as a powerful technique for solving problems in classification, but its performance mainly depends on the parameters selection of it. Parameters selection for SVM is very complex in nature and quite hard to solve by conventional optimization techniques such as least squares algorithm, for it has some limitations associated with overfitting, local optimum problems. So in this paper, Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm is proposed to choose the parameters of support vector machine (SVM) automatically in Classification problem. This method has been applied in Iris classification problem, the results show that the proposed approach has a better generalization performance and is also more accurate and effective than LS-SVM.

In this paper, according to the result of characteristics experiment of MRF(magnetorheological fluid), we design Bingham dynamic model that describes MRD(magnetorheological damper) dynamic characteristics. The model has simple structure and clear physical concept, as well it is the most common dynamic model. Aiming at identify the parameter of Bingham model, we propose two kinds of algorithm firstly, one named least squares algorithm, another named Bezier curve algorithm. Then on the basis of mastering principles of two algorithm above, we compare Bingham model expression that after parameter identification with experimental data curve. Finally, from the result we can see whether Bingham model could accurately describes the damping force characteristics or not.

An effective scheme of parameter identification based on wavelet neural network is presented for improving dynamic performance of direct torque control system. The wavelet transform is localized in time-frequency domains, yielding wavelet coefficients at different scales. This gives the wavelet transform much greater compact Support for analysis of signals with localized transient components. The input nodes of wavelet neural network are current error and change in the current error and the output node is the stator resistance error. To fulfill the network structure parameter, the improved least squares algorithm is used for initialization. The stator flux vector and electromagnetic torque are acquired accurately by the parameter estimator once the instants are detected. This function can make induction motor operate well in low region and can optimize the inverter control strategy. The simulation results show that the proposed method can efficiently reduce the torque ripple and current ripple.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA) the world's energy needs would be well over 50% higher in 2030 than today at an average annual rate of 1.8% per year. Modern Information Technology based Supervisory* Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA) assume greater significance in this context to derive maximum efficiency in power plant operations by ensuring optimal use of available resources. In this paper, we present the salient features of scalable, distributed Intelligent SCADA System developed by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Thiruvananthapuram and being implemented in a chain of hydel power stations along the Teesta canal in West Bengal. Besides individual plant monitoring and control, the system facilitates co-ordinated remote monitoring and control of three power stations and their associated canal water flow from a central station. The building blocks of our SCADA technology are well proven in Steel plants, Thermal power plants, Power Distribution Automation Systems, Water treatment plants and other Process industries and Transportation systems. The overall philosophy for system development and implementation is one of distributed structure with redundancy built in at all levels. Advanced Human Machine Interface on modern computer systems, Intelligent Process Controllers, Distributed Control Nodes over the field bus and the plant optimization models depict the superiority of the system. Hydel specific optimization modules are implemented to identify and predict in advance the leakage in fluid flow circuits, in order to take counter measures at the appropriate instants. The system tries to utilize optimally the water flow in the canal for maximum power generation from the plants. The implemented system architecture provides a progressive path of adaptive migration to tomorrow's advanced Automation Systems Technology. The use of algebraic differentiators in the context of asymptotic continuous-time parameter estimation is discussed. The estimation problem is analyzed within a least squares optimization context. Bounds for the error stemming from high frequency disturbances and the approximation of the derivatives are derived. It is shown that with higher frequencies the error stemming from the disturbances decreases and that the filter parameters can be used to adjust the convergence of this error to zero. An observer with assignable error dynamics for the online estimation is also proposed. A simulation is carried out to evaluate the results and compare the proposed observer with the recursive solution of the least squares problem. Copyright (C) 2020 The Authors.

A robust fuzzy control design, with time delay, based on gain and phase margins specifications for nonlinear systems, in the continuous time delay, is proposed. From input and output data of the process, a Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm estimates the antecedent parameters and the rules number of a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model, whereas the least squares algorithm estimates the consequent parameters. A multiobjective genetic strategy is developed to tune the fuzzy digital controller parameters, so the gain and phase specified margins are obtained for the fuzzy control system. The fuzzy PID controller was implemented on a real time acquisition data platform, based on CompactRIO (NI cRIO-9073) and LabVIEW, from National Instruments, for temperature control of a thermic process. The experimental results show the efficiency of the proposed methodology through the accuracy in the gain and phase margins of the PID control system compared to the specified ones and tracking of the reference trajectory. Fuzzy PID controller also is more efficient when compared to the fuzzy delay and lead compensator.

Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT)-based least square (LS) channel estimation with phase shifted pilots (PSP) is a practical method in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. In this paper, a real number pilot sequence is presented to replace PSP in time-domain LS channel estimation algorithm, which can reduce computation and save memory while keeping the precision. Furthermore, using discrete Hartley Transform (DHT) in LS channel estimation algorithm, a simpler estimator is derived. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed pilot sequence and the DHT-based channel estimation algorithm.

The underwater active acoustic positioning technology uses the geometric relationship between the target and the array to calculate the target position. This method needs the capability of accurately measuring the distance between the target and the receiving array, which is an indirect measurement. When the ranging error occurs, it is affected by the error transfer rule, and the positioning precision is low. In order to improve the precision of active acoustic positioning, a high precision active localization algorithm is proposed. In this algorithm, a distance vector model containing environmental parameters was established, and the similarity function was constructed by obtaining the L-p norm of distance vector and copy vector, so as to realize the 3D positioning of the target in the observation area. In order to verify the performance of the algorithm, Monte Carlo simulation is carried out to analyze the distribution of positioning errors. Simulation results show that the proposed method directly matches the distance vector, and the positioning precision is better than the conventional positioning technology, although the positioning precision is also affected by the ranging accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

In view of the characteristics of T-S model, such as easily expressing complex dynamic systems and the characteristics of PSO algorithm which could find the optimal solution of complex problems easily. This paper will presents a new identification method based on the T-S model in which FCM parameters is optimized by PSO. The mathematical model of the temperature system of the PVC stripper tower top will be built by this method. First, an adaptive number of clusters of C-means clustering fuzzy (FCM) algorithm is used to find the appropriate number of clusters in FCM, and both the number of fuzzy rules and the premise parameters of the model can are determined. Using PSO algorithm to optimize the FCM algorithm, then getting the best membership matrix by the FCM algorithm based on PSO in the end. Then, a least square algorithm is applied to determine the parameters of consequent part of T-S model. The simulation result shows the effectiveness and feasibility of the modeling method..

This paper presents the application of the proposed efficient least squares algorithm in power supply voltage dip and unbalance detection for mitigation using a D-STATCOM The proposed method is capable of identifying the instantaneous symmetrical components of the fundamental frequency accurately even though the point of common coupling voltage is strongly corrupted by the voltage harmonics. Also, it fulfils the specific requirements of the fast transient response, accuracy and robustness in order to ensure the satisfactory performance of the mitigation system. The proposed method extracts detecting the positive- and negative-sequence components and then using those sequence components for generating reference values of current that need to be injected into the point of connection D-STATCOM in order to compensate the voltage errors. Furthermore, the suitability of the proposed method in balanced/unbalance voltage dip compensation is verified by a experimental studies.
