Absolute optical encoder as a product of optical, mechanical and electronic integration has been widely used in displacement measuring fields. However, how to improve the measurement velocity and reduce the manufacturing cost of absolute optical encoder is the key problem to be solved. To improve the measurement speed, a novel absolute optical encoder image acquisition system is proposed. The proposed acquisition system includes a linearccdsensor is applied for capturing coding pattern images, an optical magnifying system is used for enlarging the grating stripes, an analog- digital conversion( ADC) module is used for processing the ccd analogy signal, a field programmable gate array( FPGA) device and other peripherals perform driving task. An absolute position measurement experiment was set up to verify and evaluate the proposed image acquisition system. The experimental result indicates that the proposed absolute optical encoder image acquisition system has the image acquisition speed of more than 9500fp/ s with well reliability and lower manufacture cost.

The article is devoted to the problem of accuracy increase at measurement of surface geometry with triangulation meters. It is shown, that the threshold of the signal selection from a photoreceiver and the time of exposure influence the accuracy of measurement. The choice of magnitude of the threshold and exposure time which make the accuracy increase of measurements possible is substantiated.

This paper presents a monitoring and controlling system which integrated single chip computer with linear ccd image sensor for measuring the length of automobile screws in industrial automatic line, The system consists of hardware and software. There five parts in the hardware setup. They are Optical part machinery, linear ccd image sensor and its drivring circuit, binarilizing circuit and 8098 user setup. The measuring range is adjustable because single end measurment is used. Minnum bi - multiplication is applied in the software to correct system deviation and increase system precision. Experiment has proved that the system is highly effective, nontouch, nondestructive and economical.

This paper presents an industrial monitoring and controlling system designed for the size measuring of the automation line. The system employs a linear ccd image sensor and 8098 single-chip computer. The object is imaged on the ccd through an optical setup, then, the image signal of the object is produced. By means of binarilizing, amplifying and transforming, the pulse signal with certain width corresponding to the length of the object is inputted to the single-chip computer. The system applies the method of filling pulse. By calculating the numbers of the pulses filled, the system obtains the length of the object and displays it on a light-emitted diode (LED). When the size of the object is over the tolerance, the system will warn by audio and light and operate the take-off device to take the object out of the line. The measuring range is adjustable. Therefore, the system is suitable for real time industrial application.
