Network-on-Chip (NoC) architecture is drawing intensive attention since it promises to maintain high performance in handling complex communication issues as the number of on-chip components increases. An effective method of mapping multitask applications on multicores is necessary to effectively use the NoC potential. In this paper, we propose an approach of quadratic programming (QP) formulation at the first time for the mapping problem, and it can overcome the unacceptable complexity of Integer Linear Programming (ILP) in dealing with problems with large size due to the decrease in the number of variables. Experimental results show that, QP method is at least 10 times faster than ILP method for 20 given benchmarks.

This paper introduces the concept of fuzzy set and proposes a fuzzy cerebellar model for robotic manipulator control by combining the cerebellar model with the fuzzy theory. This model introduces the membership degree of fuzzy set into the input layer of cerebellar model to reflect the objective world more accurately. It can not only move the arm along a specific path like a bionic cerebellar model, but also have higher integrity. The corresponding simulation experiments are carried out using the MATLAB platform and the experimental results show that the new model can control the arm exactly like the cognitive cerebellar model after several studies, and has higher control accuracy.

Sino Portuguese Architecture is a unique building in Thailand which combines with style of Chinese and European construction built around A.D.1890-1920. There are many details of bas-relief on the facade of the building. Currently, some of them have been destroyed or changed by the time. To preserve the buildings, which are houses, the digital data was established to collect the information of the houses and create to 3D virtual building represented by Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Using Augmented Reality with handheld devices is very popular because most people, nowadays, have smart phone or mobile phone. Thus, they can see the 3D houses via their handheld devices' camera and observe the building interacting with perspective changing in real-time. Therefore, the observers are able to view around the details of the virtual building easily. However, because of real-time interaction, handheld device have to render the visualization image as fast as changing point of view. Particularly, 3D model with many details, it takes load for handheld device computational time in case there are many details in 3D AR content because it cannot respond to the user simultaneously. This paper applies Parallax Occlusion mapping (POM), which is well known technique for fast rendering of geometric detail and reducing a geometric complexity of model using surface detail information in a texture encoded, to 3D model of Sino Portuguese Architecture, which consists of many bas-relief patterns on the facade, in order to reduce the number of polygons. The system uses game engine, Unity3D, and Vuforia SDK implemented augmented reality application on handheld device. The result of this research use 1 polygon/1 bas-relief and the quality of visualization is compatible to each other on AR application.

An effective run-time application mapping algorithm needs to reduce network congestion due to its significant impact on network performance. In this paper, we propose a lightweight congestion evaluation metric for application mapping algorithms in NoC-based MPSoC. We obtain information from task graphs and the mapping results, and use it to calculate a congestion metric to evaluate the link interference for a given communication flow. The congestion metric is the number of flows which share the same link with the given flow, it reflects both internal and external congestion. The congestion metric is accurate and lightweight, it can be used in runtime application mapping algorithms and other real-time tasks. Simulation result shows a strong correlation between the metric value and the average latency. Compared with other similar metrics, our congestion metric shows much greater accuracy.

Background. Health technology assessment bodies in several countries, including Japan and the United Kingdom, recommend mapping techniques to obtain utility scores in clinical trials that do not have a preference-based measure of health. This study sought to develop mapping algorithms to predict EQ-5D-3L scores from the Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire (KCCQ) in patients with heart failure (HF). Methods. Data from the randomized, double-blind PARADIGM-HF trial were analyzed, and EQ-5D-3L scores were calculated using the Japanese and UK value sets. Several different model specifications were explored to best fit EQ-5D data collected at baseline with KCCQ scores, including ordinary least square regression, two-part, Tobit, and three-part models. Generalized estimating equations models were also fitted to analyze longitudinal EQ-5D data. To validate model predictions, the data set was split into a derivation (n = 4,465) from which the models were developed and a separate sample (n = 1,892) for validation. Results. There were only small differences between the different model classes tested. Model performance and predictive power was better for the item-level models than for the models including KCCQ domain scores. R2 statistics for the item-level models ranged from 0.45 to 0.52. Mean absolute error in the validation sample was 0.10 for the models using the Japanese value set and 0.114 for the UK models. All models showed some underprediction of utility above 0.75 and overprediction of utility below 0.5, but performed well for population-level estimates. Conclusions. Using data from a large clinical trial in HF, we found that EQ-5D-3L scores can be estimated from responses to the KCCQ and can facilitate cost-utility analysis from existing HF trials where only the KCCQ was administered. Future validation in other HF populations is warranted.

Because the trichromatic coordinates of the laser display devices used in the wide gamut and are greatly different from the exiting television (TV) signals. Therefore when the TV signals is input to drive the laser display device, color distortion and color deviation may occur to influence the subjective experience. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to input signals under a certain rule to expand the small color gamut to the large color gamut for the laser display devices. The gamut expansion mapping method is studied to show better color performance for human perception based on laser display device.
