The paper considers the vehicle routing problem for several agents among the objects of two types. It is necessary to move all objects of the first type to objects of the second type. That is, it is necessary to create routes for agents so that all objects of the first type are to be visited, objects of different types should be alternated in the route and the total cost of moving is to be minimal. The mathematical model of the problem in the form of a mathematical programming problem is proposed. The paper describes the developed "greedy" and genetic solution algorithms. Special crossover and mutation operators have been developed for this problem to implement the genetic algorithm. The paper presents the computational experiment conducted on the basis of the developed software.

Calibration estimation is a method of adjusting the original design weights in survey sampling to improve estimates. It uses calibrated weights that are determined to minimize a given distance measure to the original design weights while satisfying a set of constraints related to the auxiliary information. In this paper, a distance function is proposed. Using the proposed distance function, a calibration estimator of the population mean in stratified sampling is derived. The calibrated weights are determined by minimizing the proposed distance function subject to the constraint on the mean auxiliary information, using Lagrange Multiplier Technique. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the application and computational details of the proposed calibration estimator. A simulation study, based on a real population is also carried to investigate the efficiency of the proposed calibration estimator. The study reveals that the calibration estimator developed using the proposed distance function is more efficient than the estimators developed using the Chi-square distance.

This paper proposes a robust model of multi period agricultural supply chain to consider both maximizing the total profit and minimizing the environmental load with random and fuzzy parameters. Our proposed model is formulated as a fuzzy and stochastic, multiobjective and multiperiod programmingproblem, and hence, it is hard to solve the formulated problem directly without setting a specific random distribution and a specific membership function. Therefore, a distribution-free approach based on sample mean and variance derived from received data, which does not assume any specific random distributions and membership functions, is introduced to apply our proposed model to various uncertain conditions. In addition, deterministic equivalent transformations are also introduced to obtain the optimal solution efficiently using the scenario-based approach.

To identify multiattribute utility functions under the assumption of the mutual utility independence, a decision maker must specify indifference points and subjective probabilities precisely. By relaxing this rigorous evaluation, multiattribute value models with incomplete information have been developed. In this paper, we present a new method finding the best alternative through strict preference relations derived from the decision maker by asking questions that are relatively easy to answer compared to the indifference questions. In our method, alternatives consistent with the derived strict preference relations are obtained by solving mathematical programming problems with constraints representing the preference relations, and eventually we can find the most preferred alternative by deriving additional preference relations.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of generalized second order invex monotonicities and investigate the relations between generalized second order invex functions with the generalized second order invex monotonicities of their gradient functions. We also introduce the notion of second order variational-like inequality problem and explore the conditions for existence and uniqueness of their solutions. Furthermore, we relate the solution of a mathematical programming problem involving second order invex function with the solution of second order variational-like inequality problem. In most economic and business surveys, the target variables (e.g. turnover of enterprises, income of households, etc.) commonly resemble skewed distributions with many small and few large units. In such surveys, if a stratified sampling technique is used as a method of sampling and estimation, the convenient way of stratification such as the use of demographical variables (e.g. gender, socioeconomic class, geographical region, religion, ethnicity, etc.) or other natural criteria, which is widely practiced in economic surveys, may fail to form homogeneous strata and is not much useful in order to increase the precision of the estimates of variables of interest. In this paper, a stratified sampling design for economic surveys based on auxiliary information has been developed, which can be used for constructing optimum stratification and determining optimum sample allocation to maximize the precision in estimate.

This work is devoted to the technique of solving the problem of structural-parametric synthesis of typical controllers in a multiloop cascade automatic control system, which is developed on the basis of the alternance method of parametric optimization that provides the maximum degree of invariance of local control loops relative to external perturbations with given limitations on the peak of amplitude-frequency characteristics of closed loops of the synthesized automatic control system. The task of optimizing the subsystem for controlling the fuel oil temperature in a multiloop control system of primary oil refining on an atmospheric and vacuum crude distillation unit is considered as an example, which is of independent interest.

This paper introduces a coordination model that copes with the conflicts between a supplier and a retailer in a two-stage supply chain. In this model, the supplier aims to maximise his/her profit, while the retailer aims to maximise his/her expected profit under a stochastic demand. To solve this model, an -coordination solution to this model is introduced, which implies the supplier and the retailer both will make a same concession in their profits to cooperate with each other. Further, we show that each feasible solution to this model is an -coordination solution for a sufficiently large value , while the -optimum coordination solution gives the minimum concession for the supplier and the retailer. Besides, it is proved that the -optimum coordination solution can be obtained by solving a mathematical programming problem. At last, a numerical example and sensitivity analysis are given to show the performance of the proposed method.
