This study introduces an electromagnetic interference detection technique to increase the immunity of a microcontroller-basedsystem in a complex electromagnetic environment (EME). The detection method is explained. First, the interference in the power supply and at the input port of the microcontroller is detected. The simulation results are achieved in both time domain and frequency domain. The measurement results are obtained to verify the correctness of the detection method and the application of the detection method in the automotive field is presented. The final objective of the work is to ensure that the microcontroller-basedsystem works fast in a normal EME and correctly in a complex EME without adding too much cost.

Because of that, energy efficient, safe and comfortable home that can act intelligently in order to solve the problems and meet the needs of its users need to be created. That is to create a single unified management system in a home. In this thesis, intelligent home management system has been developed which has the ability to turn on and turn off the room lights automatically, record the controlled electronic devices usage status, switching on and off air condition regulating device automatically, showing temperature room in the home, detect fire signs on the home and turned on the sprinklers in the home in case of fire, supervise the home through surveillance cameras, store photos and surveillance records on home, detecting people movement in home, and provide notification when someone entered home. system is implemented in prototype. The results show that the system can detect light intensity, flame, room temperature, movement of people, and home state and then the information is successfully sent to the server over the WiFi. The result can be read from server by using browser and there is a data logger in the server. based on users questionnaire result, the system is built according to the needs, useful, easy to use, satisfy the users and users will to use the system if the system is realized.

This work proposes to develop and implement a prototype model of an efficient unmanned car parking system using microcontroller. Model developed for underground car parking with multiple floors, prevents the usage of the parking space at ground level. Entire process was automated so that it reduces the time wasted by a person to park a car. This model uses two circular floors, with six car-parking slots in each floor. This mechanism has centre primary shaft holding a lift to transport the vehicle to its appropriate parking slot. Various sensors, motors and software were used to detect and transport the car to its allocated parking slot. Hence, this system provides a closed loop control, making it an efficient, accurate, secure and a convenient method proposed for parking cars in both commercial and residential areas.

The dielectric constants and excess dielectric constants in non-polar + polar binary liquid mixtures of toluene with alkanols (methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, propyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol) have been studied at 303, 313 and 323 K temperatures and over the complete mole fraction range. The dielectric constants for these mixtures were measured using a microcontroller based system. The results are negative over the entire range of composition. Symmetrical curves were observed for the systems in which the minimum occurs approximately at 0.5-mole fraction of toluene. The results are discussed in terms of intermolecular interactions. In order to predict the dielectric data for non-polar + polar binary liquid mixtures, five mixing rules were applied and the results indicate that the predictions of the five mixing rules are satisfactory. The investigation of dielectric constant of mixed solvents bearing alcohols aims at better comprehension of their biological, chemical, pharmaceutical, technological and laboratory applications. A self-tuning control scheme using fuzzy logic has been studied for a pilot pressure regulating system. In this hierarchical control technique, a rule-base supervisory fuzzy system is designed to tune the input scaling factor ( SF) of a direct fuzzy system according to the process condition. The proposed controller design concentrates more on improving the robustness and stability of the controller during process disturbances and changes in operating level. The proposed control scheme is implemented in an ARM7 microcontrollerbased embedded target board to study its applicability for real time pressure control application. The performance of the developed control scheme is compared with classical fuzzy controller under different operating level and process disturbance. Results show that the proposed self-tuning fuzzy controller outperforms the conventional method for pressure regulation.

Present Traffic Light Controllers (TLC) are based on microcontroller and microprocessor. These TLC have limitations because it uses the pre-defined hardware, which is functioning according to the program that does not have the flexibility of modification on real time basis. Due to the fixed time intervals of green, orange and red signals the waiting time is more and car uses more fuel. To make traffic light controlling more efficient, we exploit the emergence of new technique called as "Intelligent traffic light controller". This makes the use of Sensor Networks along with Embedded Technology. The timings of Red, Green lights at each crossing of road will be intelligently decided based on the total traffic on all adjacent roads. Thus, optimization of traffic light switching increases road capacity and traffic flow, and can prevent traffic congestions. GSM cell phone interface is also provided for users those who wish to obtain the latest position of traffic on congested roads. This is a unique feature of this project which is very useful to car drivers to take an alternate route in case of congestion. The various performance evaluation criteria are average waiting time, average distance traveled by vehicles, switching frequency of green light at a junction, efficient emergency mode operation and satisfactory operation of SMS using GSM Mobile. The performance of the Intelligent Traffic Light Controller is compared with the Fixed Mode Traffic Light Controller. It is observed that the proposed Intelligent Traffic Light Controller is more efficient than the conventional controller in respect of less waiting time, more distance traveled by average vehicles and efficient operation during emergency mode and GSM interface. Moreover, the designed system has simple architecture, fast response time, user friendliness and scope for further expansion.

This paper presents an embedded fuzzy controller to regulate the pressure in a pilot air tank system. The control algorithm is formulated using direct mamdani fuzzy sets, which eliminates overshoot and guarantees the asymptotical stability of the system. The algorithm has been developed using 'C' language and is converted into target compatible Hex code by using KEIL software. The proposed algorithm is embedded into a high performance target microcontrotler and its performance is studied with real time experimental setup. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
