With the development of informatization and intellectualization technology, the power system has become the cyber-physical power system (CPPS) with deep integration of the cyber side and the physical side. As the support system of smart grids with new forms and features, the CPPS considers the coupling relationship between the communication network and the physical power grid, and is a research hotspot in the field of smart grids. This paper provides an overview of the CPPS framework and describes the interaction between the communication network and the physical power grid. Then the mainstream modeling and simulation methods of CPPS are summarized, and the advantages and disadvantages of each method are pointed out. In the end, the paper looks forward to the possible research directions of CPPS in the future. The article provides researchers with different perspectives on the dynamic model and simulationmethods of CPPS.

In the case of strategic product planning, reasoning is highly intuitive and plausibility-driven (inductive). In this paper it is shown that product policy decisions can be supported by a more deductive approach, the Very High Level analysis method introduced. This method uses results from High Level methods, which are increasingly being used in architecture and design analyses, function checks or syntheses. The examples given deal with positioning as a key criterion in strategic product planning, for which the opportunity on the basis of expected consumer requirements is calculated using Fuzzy logic based analysis methods. The conclusions are reached in a semi-quantitative way, meaning that calculated results are interpreted in a qualitative way.

In this paper the modeling of electric contacts operation is attempted. An equivalent circuit is proposed which is valid for common applications electrical contacts. The models theoretic background is relations concerning quantum mechanical tunnelling,, as well as a new formula proposed to the present work which simulates the activity of arcs and discharges. The investigation is based upon commonly accepted principles concerning contacts operation. Between the experimental results obtained through the measurements performed and the theoretical ones resulted from the models application, a satisfactory equality was found. The proposed model seems to wholly simulate electric contacts operation, even if they are in advanced degradation.

This paper describes a proposed software design process with model-based evaluation approach to high performance image processing algorithms for Embedded Vision Systems (EVS). The resulted library (so called PfeLib) encloses software primitives which are optimized target specific to reach a high execution performance. However, due to the high computational complexity of most computer vision algorithms, realization of such applications on embedded systems is not a straight forward task. Therefore, the functional behavior of each algorithm was evaluated by the use of MATLAB Simulink. The main goal was to accelerate development and to improve the quality of the resulting algorithms and applications by systematic design, development and test. Target specific code generation was performed after modeling and simulation, where the generated code was evaluated and compared to the hand optimized code of the PfeLib. This resulted in Software In the Loop (SIL) simulation of the hand coded algorithms using MATLAB Simulink. Two Texas Instruments DSP Starter Kit (DSK) boards were used for evaluation and In-the-Loop testing. For instrumentation of the generated code, the used CPU cycles of the core part of the algorithm are counted as a measure for the mean execution time.

In this paper, we discuss use of particle systems, as understood in computer science, in modeling and simulating everyday engineering problems. Then, the task is to analyze the resulting dynamics, to differentiate physically accurate and true properties from artificial properties. For this purpose, as the main contribution in this paper, we propose a convergence based technique called simulated tendency. It is particularly suited for analysis of finite data series, that is, particle system dynamics. Moreover, for particle systems, simulated tendency reveals a necessary condition for physically accurate simulation. We also exemplify use of simulated tendency in analyzing the dynamics of a particle system modeling an inelastic bouncing wheel. Such a wheel is an intuitively clear example with well understood ideal dynamics, but for which the particle system model displays some intricacies not present in the ideal dynamics.
