This paper proposes a ride-hailing sharing problem with parcel transportation. In the study, both passengers and parcels can be transported by ordering the requests through a ride-hailing platform, in which the passengers can only be delivered by ride-hailing vehicles (RHVs) while parcels can be delivered by both RHVs and electric motorcycles (EMs). Compared with RHVs, EMs have a lower speed, a smaller capacity for parcels, and a lower driving cost per kilometer. Parcels are divided into eight classes according to the size of parcels (i.e., extra small, small, middle, and large) and the urgency of parcels (i.e., urgent and non-urgent). Passengers and passengers, passengers and parcels, as well as multiple parcels, are allowed to share the same vehicles in this problem. A two-level lexicographic multi-objective function is proposed from the perspective of the ride-hailing platform, where the first-level objective is to maximize the profit of the platform and the second-level objective is to minimize the total driving cost of RHVs and EMs. The time-varying property of passenger requests is considered and the proposed problem is divided into a set of continuous and small-scale ride-hailing subproblems. Each subproblem is formulated to match both passenger and parcel requests to RHVs and EMs, and to determine vehicle routes. Time window constraints, RHV capacity constraints for passengers, RHV trunk capacity constraints for parcels and luggage, and EM delivery box capacity constraints are considered. The modifiedartificialbeecolony (MABC) algorithm is proposed based on the framework developed by Zhan et al. (2022) to solve the ride-hailing sharing problem with parcel transportation. The results of numerical experiments show that allowing RHVs to transport parcels can significantly increase the profit of the platform, the number of matched requests, and the average profit of RHV drivers. If RHVs are allowed to pick up parcels, the government should encourage the repla

In this article, video in-painting technique with enhanced priority function and optimal patch searching algorithm is proposed. Initially, the source frames are extracted from video based on edge information, these frames are partitioned into two regions (1) target region (region to be in-painted) and (2) source region that is region to be considered as appropriate patch selection for in-painting the target region. A new priority function using confidence value, local structure multiplier, and motion vector uniformity to determine the in-paint location. The suitable patch is identified in source region, using correlation measure, like sum of squared difference method. The searching of the suitable patch in source region is optimized through modifiedartificialbeecolony (MABC) algorithm. To capture more edge information, irregular patch filling is carried out to in-painting process. The in-painting process is more improved by optimal patch scaling for better vision. Finally, the in-painted source frames are combined to obtain the corrected video. The proposed method works better than the other art state applications. The proposed peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) attains better 8.06%, 7.90%, 32.15%, and 13.06% compared with other previous methods.

This paper proposes a dynamic ride-hailing sharing problem with multiple vehicle types and user classes. Ride-hailing vehicles (RHVs) can be classified into express ride-hailing vehicles (ERHVs) and premier ride-hailing vehicles (PRHVs) according to service levels. PRHVs can provide the high-quality ride-hailing service with upmarket vehicles and ERHVs provide the normal ride hailing service with normal vehicles. The fare of PRHVs is higher. PRHVs can be temporarily used as ERHVs to serve the customers who order ERHVs with or without ride-sharing, which referred to as the substitution of ERHVs with PRHVs. A lexicographic multi-objective function with three-level objectives is proposed to formulate the problem, in which the first-level objective is to maximize the profit of the platform, the second-level objective is to minimize the number of requests of customers who involve ordering ERHVs matched to PRHVs, and the third-level objective is to minimize the total driving distance of all RHVs. The dynamic problem is divided into a set of continuous and small ride-hailing sharing subproblems based on equal time intervals. Each subproblem is formulated as a mixed integer nonlinear program for matching RHVs to the requests collected in the last time interval or unmatched in previous time intervals and re-scheduling the vehicle routes. To solve the subproblems, a new solution method is proposed based on the modified artificial bee colony algorithm developed by Zhan et al. (2021). Numerical examples using real request data from Didi are given to explore the problem properties, and the results gain insights into the ride-hailing market. For example, the profit of the platform and the number of matched requests are higher when the substitution of ERHVs with PRHVs is allowed while the matching percentage of requests of customers who select a mixed choice is higher when there is no substitution. Different ratios of vehicle types and user classes influence the perfor-mance of th

A modified version of artificialbeecolonyalgorithm and Flower pollination algorithm are used in this paper, in order to optimize the design of a six phase induction motor (SPIM). The objective functions used are more than one for the said optimization. In this paper, a comparison of the results as obtained by traditional method, modified artificial bee colony algorithm (mABC) and Flower Pollination algorithm (FPA) has been carried out and presented. The results show that much more superior and efficient design is obtained by modified ABC and Flower Pollination algorithms as compared to traditional design procedure. The comparison of the results is only to find the fittest method and also the performance of the said machine is evaluated for each of the cases as mentioned.

Electrical harmonic is an important issue on power quality of electrical systems. Therefore, estimation of power harmonics are essential to design filters to be utilized in electrical power systems for reducing harmonics and their effects on the electrical power systems. In this study, a power system harmonic estimation solution based on modifiedartificialbeecolony (MABC) algorithm have been proposed. The proposed method in this study is different from other hybrid techniques previously reported ones since estimation processes are mainly focused on decreasing computational complexity and time. In order to provide more accurate and comprehensive estimation results for the proposed method, two different experiments are investigated. Obtained results by the performed experiments showed that the proposed harmonic estimator provides several advantages such as offering very low computational time, more accurate estimation of amplitude and phase values for all conditions and low complexity. artificialbeecolony (ABC) algorithm was firstly proposed for unconstrained optimization problems on where that ABC algorithm showed superior performance. This paper describes a modified ABC algorithm for constrained optimization problems and compares the performance of the modified ABC algorithm against those of state-of-the-art algorithms for a set of constrained test problems. For constraint handling, ABCalgorithm uses Deb's rules consisting of three simple heuristic rules and a probabilistic selection scheme for feasible solutions based on their fitness values and infeasible solutions based on their violation values. ABC algorithm is tested on thirteen well-known test problems and the results obtained are compared to those of the state-of-the-art algorithms and discussed. Moreover, a statistical parameter analysis of the modified ABC algorithm is conducted and appropriate values for each control parameter are obtained using analysis of the variance (ANOVA) and analysis of mean (ANOM) statistics. The energy dispatch strategy of AC/DC hybrid stand-alone microgrid is put forward aiming at enhancing the operation economy of the microgrid. Based on the proposed energy dispatch strategy in this paper, an optimal sizing model is built with an economic objective. In addition, the environmental impacts are reduced to the objective function and the power supply reliability is added as constraints. By means of the modified artificial bee colony algorithm, the optimal sizing result of distributed energy in AC/DC hybrid stand-alone microgrid is obtained. Finally, the feasibility of energy dispatch strategy and optimization model is verified by example analysis. The optimal sizing result demonstrates that the energy dispatch strategy presented is more economical compared with traditional strategy.

In this paper, a new method based on the modifiedartificialbeecolony (MABC) algorithm to determine the main characteristic parameters of the Schottky barrier diode such as barrier height, ideality factor and series resistance. For this model, the Ni/n-GaAs/In Schottky barrier diode was produced and annealed at different temperature in a laboratory. The performance of the modified ABC method was compared to that of the basic artificialbeecolony (ABC), particle swarm optimization (PSO), differential evolution (DE), genetic algorithm (GA) and simulated annealing (SA). From the results, it is concluded that the modified ABC algorithm is more flexible and effective for the parameter determination than the other algorithms.
