In this paper, a hybrid system is introduced using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique with spectral amplitude coding optical code division multiple access (SAC-OCDMA). In this system, the AND subtraction detection is used with the modifieddoubleweight (MDW) and enhanced doubleweight (EDW) codes, in addition to the single photodiode detection with the diagonal doubleweight (DDW) code. The proposed system achieves performance enhancement in the performance enhancement concerning the maximum allowable number of users, signal to noise ratio and (minimum) bit error rate (BER) R. The proposed codes that used with AND subtraction detection techniques are: MDW and EDW, while the DDW codes are used with single photodiode detection (SPD). Detection techniques are investigated to reduce the effect of both the multiple access interference and phase induced intensity noise. A comparison is performed between the conventional SAC-OCDMA systems and OFDM with SAC-OCDMA. The obtained results reveal that OFDM with SAC-OCDMA gives better performance than conventional SAC-OCDMA. OFDM with SAC-OCDMA using DDW code with SPD detection can support a high bit rate up to 10 Gbps for 70 users with a BER of 10(-9).

In this paper, three codes spectral amplitude coding optical code division multiple access (SAC-OCDMA) are proposed and compared in terms of system performance including bit error rate (BER), number of active users, high achievable data rate, high signal to noise ratio (SNR) and the minimum received power that the OCDMA system supports to achieve a minimum BER value. The proposed codes are diagonal doubleweight (DDW) codes, modifieddoubleweight (MDW) codes and enhanced doubleweight (EDW). Different detection as AND subtraction detection technique and single photodiode detection (SPD) are investigated to reduce the effect of both the multiple access interference and phase induced intensity noise. The obtained results show that SAC-OCDMA using EDW code with SPD detection can achieve large number users with better BER (similar to 10(-9)), SNR (>20 dB), and minimum received power (similar to-20 dBm) relative to the other codes with other detection techniques.

The focus of this work is to consolidate a review of accomplished research in the field of optical code division multiple accesses (OCDMA), to outline the state-of-the-art comparison, and to recognize the prominent trends as well as limitations. code division multiple access (CDMA) has prospered as a vital solution for numerous applications such as cellular mobile communication-based wireless network technology and wired/wireless local area networks that include areas of unlicensed industry, medicine, and science. Due to the commercial utilization of the various advantages of CDMA, it has raised the matter of whether optical technology reliant communications provide the noteworthy advantages to optical networks as well as what are the technologies that facilitate optical chip-based (code division) networks. Aforementioned matter has been addressed in the context of the incorporation of OCDMA in the systems through several experiments of laboratory-based test-bed investigations, field trials, and simulation analysis of multiple users in the recent research works. The performance of OCDMA has an edge over wavelength division multiplexing and offers an unmatched capacity that is seen through simulations. To cater the explosive expansions in internet application, different spectral amplitude codes have been proposed till now. We present a review of the different spectral amplitude codes based on the reported works in spectral amplitude code OCDMA systems. For the purpose of state-of-the-art comparison, parameters considered are data speeds, advanced modulation formats, bit error rate, extinction ratio, decision algorithms, photonic efficiencies of photodetectors, frequency bands, signal-to-noise ratio, forward error correction, photodetector noises, etc., and simulations are carried out in similar input environments. We explore the advantages/limitations of the spectral amplitude codes, recent progress in the technology, practical works on spectral amplitude coding (SAC

This paper represents the design of a hybrid system using advance modulation Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK) with different detection techniques. The impact of advance modulation technique based on the bit error rate (BER) performance have been investigated. The effect of Multiple access interference (MAI) and bit noise degrades the performance of the OCDMA/WDM system. Advanced modulation technique DPSK and MDW code sequence have been proposed to reduce MAI and bit noise. Here, we have compared AND subtraction detection and complementary subtraction detection techniques at data bit rate 2.5 Gbps. The simulation results elucidate that the complementary subtraction detection technique performance is better than AND subtraction detection technique where referred BERs 2.19x10(-09) and 3.12x10(-07) respectively. According to the simulation results, this hybrid system can be considered as a good candidature for GPON Application.

This article presents a new codethe dynamic cyclic shift codefor spectral amplitude codingoptical code division multiple access systems. One of the important properties of the dynamic cyclic shift code is that the number of users can be increased without increasing the weight value. System performance was evaluated by using both theoretical analysis as well as the simulation experiment. The analysis results show that the proposed dynamic cyclic shift code can support more users in spectral amplitude codingoptical code division multiple access systems compared to spectral amplitude codingoptical code division multiple access codes. It was ascertained by performance evaluation that the dynamic cyclic shift code possesses ideal properties for use in spectral amplitude codingoptical code division multiple access systems.

In this work, we tire proposing the serial and parallel configurations of encoder and decoder modules to encode and decode a new developed spectral amplitude coding (SAC) known as modifieddoubleweight (MDW) code for Optical code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA) system. This coding scheme is designed in a way to decrease the number of FBGs used in the encoder and decoder modules and to maintain the cross-correlation parameter to 1.

This paper concentrates on doubleweightcode family as a proposed code for the optical spectrum code division multiple access (OSCDMA) which has one cross correlation value. By eliminating the intersection columns of this code, the cross correlation value will be zero instead of one. This new derived code is called Zero Cross-Correlation code (ZCC) [1]. In ZCC code, the performance is expected to be better than MDW code because it offers low cross correlation value. It is easy to distinguish the desired signal from the interfering signal if the cross correlation value is low. Besides, a general new equation is obtained for code which has zero cross correlation value instead of basic matrix and mapping technique which are used in modified double weight code to obtain a specific code word.
