In this research, we proposed an integrated two-stage fuzzy approach. In the first phase, a framework for supplier selection criteria is proposed. Besides, a fuzzy method is designed to evaluate suppliers based on qualitative criteria. The output of this stage is the weight of each supplier. In the second phase, we proposed a fuzzy multiobjective linear programming model to determine which suppliers should be selected(strategic decisions), and find out the optimal number of units purchased(tactical decisions), which is also satisfy the decision maker's aspirations for fuzzy goals. To our knowledge, this model is the first effort to consider supplier selection based on qualitative criteria, order allocation, acceptable aspirations, simultaneously. The mathematical programming model is validated through numerical analysis.

This paper presents a fuzzy goal programming approach for solving multi-objective transportation problem with interval cost. The fuzzy goal programming approach is used for achieving highest degree of each of the membership goals by minimizing negative deviational variables. Also a special type of hyperbolic membership function to each objective function describe fuzzy goal. A numerical example is given to illustrate the potential use of the proposed approach.

A multi-objectiveprogramming mathematical model of the BOF(Basic Oxygen Furnace) and CCM(Continuous Casting Machine) matched was established from the perspective of precise design, on the premise of segmentation and specification of steel according to the production outline, which was the functions on less investment, BOF and CCM matched compact, high operating rate of converter and high level of weighted average casting speed for one production line in the steelmaking plant of all plate and strip. Then, proposed overall configuration method of BOF - CC in the steelmaking plant through combination based on the one production line. The solving method of the model was proposed by the improved stratified sequence method. Finally, the design above is considered as the better project after tested based on the production outline of a new large steel plant.

Reverse logistics consists of all operations related to the reuse of products. External suppliers are one of the important members of reverse logistics and closed loop supply chain (CLSC) networks. However in CLSC network configuration models, suppliers are assessed based on purchasing cost and other factors such as on-time delivery are ignored. In this research, a general closed loop supply chain network is examined that includes manufacturer, disassembly, refurbishing, and disposal sites. Meanwhile, it is managed by the manufacturer. We propose an integrated model which has two phases. In the first phase, a framework for supplier selection criteria in RL is proposed. Besides, a fuzzy method is designed to evaluate suppliers based on qualitative criteria. The output of this stage is the weight of each supplier according to each part. In the second phase, we propose a multiobjective mixed-integer linear programming model to determine which suppliers and refurbishing sites should be selected (strategic decisions), and find out the optimal number of parts and products in CLSC network (tactical decisions). The objective functions maximize profit and weights of suppliers, and one of them minimizes defect rates. To our knowledge, this model is the first effort to consider supplier selection, order allocation, and CLSC network configuration, simultaneously. The mathematical programming model is validated through numerical analysis. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) as introduced by Charnes. Cooper, and Rhodes (1978) is a linear programming technique that has widely been used to evaluate the relative efficiency of a set of homogenous decision making units (DMUs). In many real applications, the input-output variables cannot be precisely measured. This is particularly important in assessing efficiency of DMUs using DEA, since the efficiency score of inefficient DMUs are very sensitive to possible data errors. Hence, several approaches have been proposed to deal with imprecise data. Perhaps the most popular fuzzy DEA model is based on alpha-cut. One drawback of the alpha-cut approach is that it cannot include all information about uncertainty. This paper aims to introduce an alternative linear programming model that can include some uncertainty information from the intervals within the alpha-cut approach. We introduce the concept of "local alpha-level" to develop a multi-objective linear programming to measure the efficiency of DMUs under uncertainty. An example is given to illustrate the use of this method. Crown Copyright (C) 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Shortest path problems appear as subproblems in numerous optimization problems. In most papers concerning multiple objective shortest path problems, additivity of the objective is a de-facto assumption, but in many real-life situations objectives and criteria, can be non-additive. The purpose of this paper is to give a general framework for dominance tests for problems involving a number of non-additive criteria. These dominance tests can help to eliminate paths in a dynamic programming framework when using multiple objectives. Results on real-life multi-objective problems containing non-additive criteria are reported. We show that in many cases the framework can be used to efficiently reduce the number of generated paths. Abstract Selection of a configuration for processes and suppliers in concurrent engineering (CE) environment is a very critical step in the new product development (NPD) process. Significance of this problem is clarified when many of the cost and time parameters are not available, in the early design stage. Therefore, considering simultaneous many of approximate parameters is necessary to develop an efficient product design. This paper proposes a hybrid method to address CE problem involving selection of processes and suppliers in an uncertain. The proposed method integrates multi objective programming and fuzzy AHP to select processes and suppliers, by simultaneous consideration of cost and time of production, quality and safety of the final product. A numerical example is used to illustrate the model and finally, article is ending with expressing some of the limitations and suggestions. This method can be used to develop decision-making systems to determine the optimal production design, in concurrent engineering platform.

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is recognized as a modern approach to the assessment of performance of a set of homogeneous Decision Making Units (DMUs) that use similar sources to produce similar outputs. While DEA commonly is used with precise data, recently several approaches are introduced for evaluating DMUs with uncertain data. In the existing approaches many information on uncertainties are lost. For example in the defuzzification, the alpha-level and fuzzy ranking approaches are not considered. In the tolerance approach the inequality or equality signs are fuzzified but the fuzzy coefficients (inputs and outputs) are not treated directly. The purpose of this paper is to develop a new model to evaluate DMUs under uncertainty using Fuzzy DEA and to include alpha-level to the model under fuzzy environment. An example is given to illustrate this method in details. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
