Technique of Controlling the Bandwidth of MIMO Rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna

A technique for controlling the bandwidth of the multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is implemented in this paper. Firstly, a simple two ports aperture coupled rectangular DRA for providing the triple-band response is designed. The rectangular slots of size around quarter wavelength are inserted in the ground plane and the substrate. The modes generated in the antenna are merged and the triple-band responses are converted to wide dual-band response. Furthermore, the dual-band response can be converted to single band by changing the aspect ratio of the DR and other physical and electrical parameters. The implemented technique for controlling the impedance bandwidth of the two-port MIMO DRA is studied with the parallel and orthogonal feeding and verified with its significant impact. This technique can be applied for designing MIMO DRA to be operated in wireless systems. Moreover, the broadband characteristics of the MIMO DRA can facilitate the measurement and detection of the signal present in the environment.

Design and Feasibility Verification of 6G Wireless Communication Systems with State of the Art Technologies

Frequencies above 100 GHz are the promising frequency bands for 6G wireless communication systems because of the abundant unexplored and unused spectrum. The increasing global demand for ultra-high spectral efficiencies, data rates, speeds and bandwidths in next-generation wireless networks motivates the exploration of peak capabilities of massive MIMO (multi-input-multi-output) wireless access technology at THz bands (0.1-10 THz). The smaller wavelengths (order of microns) of these frequencies give an advantage of making high gain antennas with smaller physical dimensions and allows massive spatial multiplexing. This paper presents the design of ultra-massive MIMO (ultra-mMIMO) hybrid beamforming system for multi users and its feasibility to function at THz frequency bands. The functionality of the proposed system is verified at higher order modulation schemes to achieve higher spectral efficiencies using performance metrics that includes error vector magnitude, symbol constellations, and antenna array radiation beams. The performance results suggest to use a particular mMIMO antenna configuration based on number of independent data streams per user and strongly recommended to use higher number of data streams per user in order to achieve higher throughputs that satisfy the needs of 6G wireless systems. Also the performance of the proposed system at 0.14 THz is compared with mmWave systems that operate at 28 GHz and 73 GHz bands to justify the feasibility of the proposed work.

this proposal presents a design of compact MIMO antenna array for a mobile phone to be used in 5G cellular mobile communication. Main focus of this work is to design an MIMO antenna system which can resonate at particular frequencies as per the requirement. A mobile handset antenna supporting wide frequency range is essential exploratory issue. This paper manifests an antenna resonating at 1.5 GHz, 2.2 GHz and 28 GHZ frequency in the wide upper band 10-30 GHz, which is an expected resonance frequency for future 5G mobile communication. Gain value of 6.622 dBi, 7.35 dBi, and 6.01 dBi at 28 GHz, 2.2 GHz, and 1.5 GHz respectively, are achieved. Higher frequency radiation effect will be more on user, so radiator is placed at bottom edge of the mobile system board. SAR values at different frequencies: at 2.2 GHz it is 0.471 W/Kg, at 1.5 GHz value is 0.205 W/Kg.

Nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) transmission is a popular candidate technology for the next generation broadband mobile communication systems because of high spectrum efficiency. In this paper, we proposed two beamforming scheme, namely, matched-to-the-stronger-channel (MSC) beamforming and optimal beamforming schemes for a two-user downlink NOMA system. Moreover, we also develop optimal power allocation for both schemes. It shows through simulation results that the optimal scheme is capable to combat the near-far effect and provides high achievable sum rate especially when the geographical angle between two users is small.

A MIMO antenna array having high gain, low Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) and enhanced isolation for a mobile phone to be used in 5G cellular mobile communications is presented. The design challenges of 5G handset mobile antenna are work of interest in this paper. Embedment of multiple antenna elements for MIMO while maintaining high isolation, gain, minimum SAR evidences the competence of proposed antenna as best choice for future mobile communication phone. Proposed MIMO antenna supports LTE-700, GSM-850/GSM-900, and upper bands like UMTS, GSM1800/GSM-1900, LTE-2200/LTE-2500, moreover 15GHz, 28GHz are also supported in 10-30GHZ range, that are expected to be only available frequencies for 5G cellular communication in future. And the Gain value of 4dBi:8dBi at various resonance frequencies is obtained. Higher frequency radiation effect will be more on user. SAR values for different frequencies are 0.07261W/Kg, 0.224W/Kg, and 0.3476 W/Kg at 0.7GHz, 0.85GHz and 2.2GHz, respectively.

Substantially increasing wireless traffic and extending serving coverage is required with the advent of sixth-generation (6G) wireless communication networks. Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is widely considered as a promising technique which is capable of improving the system sum rate and energy efficiency. Moreover, full-duplex (FD) multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) transmission provides simultaneous transmit and received signals, which theoretically provides twice of spectrum efficiency. However, the self-interference (SI) in FD system is a challenging task requiring high-overhead cancellation, which can be resolved by configuring appropriate phase shifts of RIS. This paper has proposed an RIS-empowered full-duplex interference cancellation (RFIC) scheme in order to alleviate the severe interference in an RIS-FD system. We consider the interference minimization of RIS-FD MIMO while guaranteeing quality-of-service (QoS) of whole system. The closed-form solution of RIS phase shifts is theoretically derived with the discussion of different numbers of RIS elements and receiving antennas. Simulation results reveal that the proposed RFIC scheme outperforms existing benchmarks with more than 50% of performance gain of sum rate.

Non-line-of-sight (NLOS) imaging aims to reconstruct the image of hidden targets with the property of multi-scattering, which tremendously broadens the detectable range of sensors and has the potential in the fields of autonomous driving, anti-terrorism, etc. However, in the field of radar, most of the researches on NLOS focus on extracting signal characteristic, hidden targets localization, and hidden targets tracking, etc. The corresponding models and algorithms of NLOS imaging are urgently needed to be developed. In this paper, we establish a novel imaging model of looking around corner (LAC) scene. Based on the model, a time-domain coherent algorithm is proposed, the method has the capability of extracting the surface and accurate position of hidden target without prior knowledge. Finally, several metal balls are placed in the NLOS area to construct a LAC observation scene. In the line-of-sight area, a millimeter-wave multi-input-multi-output radar is exploited to synthesize a one-dimension (1-D) antenna array with the framework of 1-D scanning. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of our NLOS technique with the clear geometric features and the accurate position of targets. © 2021 IEEE.

An Inner-loop Controller Guaranteeing Robust Transient Performance for Uncertain MIMO Linear Systems

An output-feedback controller has been recently proposed that has the following features: (1) it is an inner-loop controller so that it can be added on the existing closed-loop system working in harmony with a pre-designed (possibly non-robust) outer-loop controller, (2) it robustifies the closed-loop system in a way that the uncertain plant under external disturbance becomes a nominal plant without any disturbance, (3) it recovers the trajectory of the nominal closed-loop system in time domain. However, it is restricted to the single-input-single-output systems. In this paper, we extend this result for a class of multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) linear systems having the same number of inputs and outputs. The used tools in this synthesis are the singular perturbation theory and the multi-variable circle criterion.

Lifetime Optimization via Network Sectoring in Cooperative Wireless Sensor Networks

Employing cooperative communication in multihop wireless sensor networks provides the network with significant energy efficiency. However, the lifetime of such a network is directly dependant upon the lifetime of each of its individual sections (or clusters). Ignoring the fact that those sections close to sink have to forward more data (their own data plus the data received from the previous sections) and hence die sooner with considering equal section sizes, leads to a sub-optimal lifetime. In this paper, we optimize the section sizes of a multihop cooperative WSN so that it maximizes the network lifetime. Simulation results demonstrate a significant lifetime enhancement for the proposed optimal sectoring.
