Through past decades, there has been extensive research on algorithmic game theory techniques for solving multicast routing problem in the networks: if one can incentivize a subset of edges to connect all base stations in the networks, where edges are owned by strategic agents, which subset should be selected so that the total cost of edges is minimized? To solve this problem, the celebrated Vickrey-Clarke-Groves(VCG) mechanism is applied, which pays a premium to incentivize the edges to reveal their cost truthfully. However, as discovered in this paper, VCG mechanism for network construction may suffer from a new cheating pattern, named false-name bidding, where bidder can gain profit by submitting bids under multiple fictitious name. Such cheating can undermine efficiency and increase the expenditure of the auctioneer. To overcome this hurdle, we propose the core-selecting multicast routing mechanism. The number of the core constraints are too large for computing and we reduce the number of core constraints through several ways to make the computation possible and apply Vickrey-nearest pricing rule for incentivizing the bidders. Experiments are conducted on real-life networks to show that the payment of our mechanism is lower than the payment of VCG mechanism.

The purpose of this paper is to propose an efficient clustering method for multicast device-to-device (D2D) communications. By reviewing the related research works, we examine the physical and social characteristics that affect the clustering. Considering the quality of the radio link, the required data and files, and the number of neighboring users, we do the clustering and consequently find the cluster head and associated members. Using these criteria, a weighted metric is proposed which introduces the cluster head and assigns the members to each cluster. After clustering the users in each cluster, the cluster head multicasts the required data to the associated members. First, we propose an idea to improve the clustering performance, which offers a decrease in the number of clusters and an increase in the throughput. Then, two new clustering algorithms are proposed and they are compared in order to show the efficacy of the proposed ones. The numerical analysis using MATLAB shows that the proposed algorithms significantly reduce the number of required radio resources and sharply increase the throughput.

multicast is widely deployed in data centers for point-to-multi-point communications. It has an established set of control protocols such as IGMP and PIM that has limitations around the lack of bandwidth awareness when establishing the multicast trees. This could lead to over-subscription of network links and packet loss impacting user quality of experience. Other existing multicast issues are related to path setup time as delay translates to deterioration of user experience. In this paper, we present and implement the DiRP algorithm utilizing distributed decision making architecture to optimize multicast tree formation while maintaining low path setup time. The system is implemented using off-the-shelve commercially available switches. the proposed DiRP algorithm maintains the creation and removal of source trees based on bandwidth requirements. We test the algorithm using Cisco's Nexus commercially available switches. Testing results confirm that the DiRP Algorithm is able to setup multicast tree paths based on available bandwidth while maintaining distributed decision making in the fabric to lower path setup time. The system offers substantially lower path setup time compared to centralized systems while maintaining bandwidth awareness when setting up the fabric.

Trust (T) is entirely a form of reliability contributing phenomenon that provision Quality of Service (QoS) in terms of continuous support and availability to all data dissemination needs (like during/for route discovery, graceful degradation of routes and route maintenance) not only for member nodes of a multicast dynamic group but also for nonmember neighboring nodes to secure and maintain their neighborhood core relationships to reach far located destinations in networks diameter. Henceforth Trust T has been taken as the absolute criteria to select the strong candidate nodes to be the part of multicast group thereby reducing the control overhead of flooding and streamlining the scarce pool of resources. Trust is a feeling of subjectivity that cannot be accurately measured and varies continuously with time. Henceforth in this paper researchers are going to propose a fuzzy logic based trust strategy for multicast group formation. The trust metric based group formation exclusively entrust the most preferred parameter for group formation as FDRI ( like frequency of communication (F), duration of communication (D) and time stamp of Recent call established Interactions (RI) out of other 6 parameters considered for group formation and are assigned with a different weight w 1 ,w 2 ,w 3 respectively using ANP ( Analytical Network Process and then finally aggregated into a crisp variable R, accounting to degree of varied neighborhood associations. The summated value R is fuzzified further (as ~ T lying in the range of 0 to 1 ) using the fuzzy logic rules. The whole environment of MANET is assumed as surrounded by groups/overlapping groups and is shown simulated through Fuzzy logic tools under MATLAB for different types of groups as family group, friends group and professional group that could be mapped exactly in the world of Mobile Adhoc Networks ( MANETs). An improved differentiated service supported multicast RWA (IRES-MRWA) algorithm is proposed in this paper, which combing both the wavelength reservation based priority scheme and smart edge removal light hierarchy (SERLH) scheme. Theoretical analysis and simulation result shows that improved algorithm not only support differentiated service requirements, but also has better performance of blocking probability and resource utilization.

This paper present a flow control based Multi-rate Congestion Control Mechanism in a heterogeneous network. multicasting is a promising approach for mass distribution of streaming media. In single rate multicast (SR-M) [1], [2], [4] approach, the source sends data to all receivers at a single rate that is limited by the slowest link or highest packet loss receiver between source and receivers. Various single-rate congestion control approach has been proposed developed, but these approaches are not well suited in a heterogeneous network environment where receivers have different capacities. To overcome the drawback of single rate multicast congestion control, multi-rate congestion control approach comes into the picture where the sourcecan send data at different rates to all receivers according to their capacity. This paper provides a proficient technique based on flow control and link utilization. Ns-2 network simulation package has used to implement our MR-MCC approach. Simulation results demonstrate the great performance of our MR-MCC approach regarding throughput, packet loss than other existing approaches.

We revisit Byzantine-tolerant reliable broadcast algorithms in multi-hop networks. To tolerate up to f Byzantine nodes, previous solutions require an exponential number of messages to be sent over the network. We propose optimizations that preserve the safety and liveness properties of the original algorithms, while highly decreasing their observed message complexity when simulated on two families of random graphs.
