Low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications with ubiquitous connectivity is deemed a key enabler for 6G. Since LEO satellites provide broadband coverage, traffic demand distribution of users is potentially non-uniform within the coverage area, and the available time/frequency/power resources are considerably limited. Motivated by this, we propose a rate-matching for non-orthogonal unicast and multicast (NOUM) transmission that matches the offered rates to the traffic demands of both unicast and multicast messages under limited power budgets. Also, rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) is employed to manage interference between unicast and multi-cast streams along with inter-user interference under imperfect channel state information at the LEO satellite. To solve the non-convex and non-smooth formulated problem, we approximate the common rate using the LogSumExp technique; thereafter, we represent the common portion as the ratio of the approximated function, converting the problem into an unconstrained form. A generalized power iteration (GPI)-based algorithm, coined GPI-RS-NOUM, is proposed upon this reformulation. We numerically show that the proposed framework outperforms various benchmarks for LEO networks with uneven traffic demands.

The paper investigates the impact of the multicast method used over an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) network in comparison to factor-to-factor solutions. The paper investigated mechanisms, multicast, and point-to-point (P2P) and in comparison their overall performance in phrases of throughput, total delay, and packet loss charge when beneath various community conditions. It turned into located that multicast had benefits in terms of total throughput and postpone while compared to P2P in phrases of cost of bandwidth for larger variety of receivers. Further, the multicast method had a lower packet loss charge than P2P in all situations. This paper concluded that no matter the complexity related multicast, because of its inherent blessings, is taken into consideration a better answer for multimedia programs that require a large number of receivers. Average, its miles counseled that multicast is the era of desire over ATM networks when the number of receivers growth.

Multi-chiplet DNN accelerator is a promising solution to balancing performance and cost. However, the limited communication bandwidth between chiplets exacerbates the performance bottleneck of the interconnect network. Besides, in DNN dataflows, the same weight or activation is often shared by multiple processing elements (PEs). One-to-many dataflows, also known as multicast, are widespread. Existing works lack specific optimizations for DNN dataflows, thereby yielding suboptimal multicast efficiency. To overcome these challenges, we propose MEIN, a multicast-Efficient Interconnect Network for multi-chiplet DNN accelerators. Firstly, we introduce a highly efficient routing algorithm tailored for DNN dataflows. It optimizes the multicast tree structure to reduce path latency, while also improving the path selection mechanism to minimize link contention. Secondly, we propose a lightweight router microarchitecture that enhances the hardware resource utilization by simplifying multicast ports. Based on the gem5 simulator, our evaluation demonstrates that MEIN achieves the latency reduction by 19.6%-81.9% as compared to the state-of-the-art related works.

This paper delves into the time-efficient covert multicast in a wireless communication system facilitated by Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), in which the UAV aims to disseminate a common covert information to multiple ground users (GUs) while suffering from the risk of detection by a ground warden (Willie). For a given flying location of the UAV, we first develop a theoretical framework for performance modeling of both the detection error probability at Willie and the transmission time at UAV, and then explore the optimal setting of UAV transmit power to achieve the minimum transmission time at this location. We further propose a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)-based algorithm to jointly optimize the UAV’s flying location and transmit power to achieve the overall minimum transmission time. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed PSO-based algorithm is substantiated through extensive numerical results.

The development of LEO satellite networks (LSN) makes them a potential solution to deliver broadcast/multicast traffic to deploy and upgrade massive amounts of Internet of Things (IoT) devices in future 6G networks. However, inherent resource constraints of LSN leave them vulnerable to a multitude of security threats, most notably distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. Existing solutions are primarily based on machine learning detection methods which are incapable of defending against unknown zero-day attacks. This paper presents an innovative solution leveraging deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to create a dynamic multicast tree based on moving target defense (MTD), aimed at enhancing the security of multicast services in LSN. The proposed solution adopts an adaptive orbital tree mutation (AOTM) scheme that dynamically adjusts multicast tree configurations considering quality of service (QoS) constraints to avoid attacks on vulnerable nodes. Simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the AOTM scheme, showcasing its superior defense success rates compared to existing state-of-the-art algorithms.

multicasting is a vital information dissemination technique in Software-Defined Networking (SDN). With SDN, a multicast service can incorporate network functions implemented at different nodes, which is referred to as software-defined multicast. Emerging ubiquitous wireless networks for 5G and Beyond (B5G) inherently support multicast. However, the broadcast nature of wireless channels, especially in dense deployments, leads to neighborhood interference as a primary system degradation factor, which introduces a new challenge for software-defined multicast in wireless mesh networks. To tackle this, this paper introduces an innovative approach, based on the idea of minimizing both the total length cost of the multicast tree and the interference at the same time. Accordingly, a novel bicriteria optimization problem is formulated–Minimum Interference Steiner Tree (MIST), which is the edge-weighted variant of the vertex-weighted secluded Steiner tree problem [1]. To solve the bicriteria problem, instead of resorting to heuristics, this paper employs an innovative approach that is an approximate algorithm for MIST but with guaranteed performance. Specifically, the approach exploits the monotone submodularity property of the interference metric and identifies Pareto optimal solutions for MIST, then converts the problem into the submodular minimization under Steiner tree constraints, and designs a two-stage relaxation algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate and validate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

In this paper, we propose a novel efficient digital twin (DT) data processing scheme to reduce service latency for multicast short video streaming. Particularly, DT is constructed to emulate and analyze user status for multicast group update and swipe feature abstraction. Then, a precise measurement model of DT data processing is developed to characterize the relationship among DT model size, user dynamics, and user clustering accuracy. A service latency model, consisting of DT data processing delay, video transcoding delay, and multicast transmission delay, is constructed by incorporating the impact of user clustering accuracy. Finally, a joint optimization problem of DT model size selection and bandwidth allocation is formulated to minimize the service latency. To efficiently solve this problem, a diffusion-based resource management algorithm is proposed, which utilizes the denoising technique to improve the action-generation process in the deep reinforcement learning algorithm. Simulation results based on the real-world dataset demonstrate that the proposed DT data processing scheme outperforms benchmark schemes in terms of service latency.

In this paper, we study the coordinated multicast and unicast transmission for cellular-based vehicle-to-vehicle (C-V2V) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) in the scenario where only imperfect channel state information is available at the base station side and the transmitter in each V2V communication pair. The precoding design problem is a weighted ergodic sum-rate maximization problem with the imperfect CSI including channel mean and variance information known, and the objective function is the weighted sum of the achievable ergodic unicast rate for all the V2V pairs and the achievable ergodic multicast rate for all the cellular users. The minimize-maximize (MM) algorithm and the deterministic equivalent method are utilized to solve the problem and reduce the computational complexity. The simulation results demonstrate the significant improvements of the proposed coordinated communication method in the system spectral efficiency.

Holographic video creates an immersive experience for users with lifelike scene reconstruction, yet it comes with the trade-off of managing massive data volumes. Therefore, to maintain a consistent quality of experience (QoE) in wireless networks with fluctuating channel conditions, it is necessary to develop efficient and adaptive holographic video streaming methods. This paper proposes a coordinated multicast streaming framework for holographic video that integrates coordinated multipoint transmission with transcoding-enabled multicasting techniques. Our framework supports the simultaneous transmission of holographic video tiles at various bitrates from multiple multi-antenna base stations to different multicast groups, significantly enhancing the overall viewing experience. We formulate an optimization problem with the goals of improving the average video quality experienced by all users while reducing the energy consumption for transcoding, which is NP-hard. By employing the proximal policy optimization, a leading-edge deep reinforcement learning algorithm, and convex optimization techniques, we develop a dynamic algorithm for joint bitrate selection and resource allocation. Simulations confirm the effectiveness of our algorithm, showing marked improvements in QoE over existing baselines.

In the coming 6G area, the throughput burden of cellular networks is generated by the the explosive growth in the number of smart devices and its requirements. The throughput burden can be mitigated effectively by the Device-to-Device Mul-ticast (D2MD) communication technology-based content sharing. With the aim of gaining the benefit of content sharing of D2MD, it is necessary to adopt an appropriate method for cluster formation that considers adaptivity and comprehensive influence. Thus, to address this method, this paper designs a global rate maximization problem by comprehensively taking into account the impact factors of the physical and social layers. Due to the high complexity of the designed problem, an Evolution-Affinity Propagation (EAP) algorithm is proposed to solve it. Finally, the performance of EAP is verified in simulation results and shows that the performance of EAP is improved by 2.5 times compared with spectral clustering.
